I was alone, but hell I've passed a good time at Catalonia. Of course, the room are a bit old, the buffet is a okay 4 stars typical buffet, there's rock on the beach... But everyone can ignore this since the employee are so so friendly. You can easily meet some party friend on the beach, at the multiples bar, and the animation team was there to put a smile on people faces and to create an extremely nice atmosphere. The highlight of the hotel ? Clearly Manuel and Raphael, the two best bartenders I've ever encountered. They where there for more than just drinks. They know how to generate conversations and they were more than funny. I've met two tourists at the bar and they've contribute a lot at the best drinking experience I've ever had while traveling in Mexico. 5 stars for Manuel and Raphael! I'll surely comeback. Salute!…
How can I describe Paradise? Catalonia Yucatan Beach Resort & Spa! Our 7th visit to this amazing resort was from Oct. 8-18th. We were greeted at reception with an outstanding friendly staff. Check-in was fast and we were shown to our wonderful room in the 6000 block which is our “home away from home”. We walked down to the beach and voila, NO SEAWEED!! We had no issues at all getting a sun bed on the boardwalk at any time during our stay. Thank you to the hard working maintenance and gardening staff that do such a wonderful job keeping the property pristine. The food was amazing with our favourite being Bloved. Thank you to Chef Raphael who cooked our amazing meal and to Lucas our waiter whose service was beyond reproach. The Steakhouse was a mouth watering event and our thanks go out to Dayvi, Suzette and Miseal. Thank you to David and Oscar at the Italian restaurant for their wonderful service. Both buffet restaurants offered a wonderful assortment of food every day. To our wonderful Alix, thank you so much for all your assistance. We can’t wait to see you again in May. We highly recommend this resort. Italian and best of all Bloved.…
We booked a room for 3 persons but the room we we allocated was set up for two, it took until our fourth night to get it corrected. alot of the staff are rude and unhelpful, Nelly in the Brasila was very nice as were the night workers in the Grill restaurant, reception staff not very helpful at all. the a la carte meals are in general poor quality and tasteless and if you dare to mention it you get branded trouble ,the Japanese restaurant is a poor quality Chinese restaurant. the Mexican restaurant serve tasteless meals that are not even described properly on the menu. The grill restaurant is the best from them all and have very helpful staff. BLOVED restaurant has the best view but the worst food and service, the manager hides rather than come and find out what the issues are. don't upgrade to privileged as it is not worth the money , beach, pool and bar are used by anyone as they don't monitor . The spa had a water dispenser that had green slime growing in it, the hydro pool had thick grease around part of the pool ( how often is that cleaned) I would not return to this hotel as they lack customer care and do not seek to resolve issues, we were told by a senior person ( OSCAR) to find another resort!!!! entertainment in the day is very much for children. I raised a few issues and put it in writing but it does seem that they dont care , raised with TUI rep as well!!…
Third stay for our family at this resort. Last stay we was upgraded wrist bands to allow use of the little white beach bar as a thank you for return custom. We booked 12 months in advance and requested a room, preferably with a pool view but on the side with the pool that has the bridge. We were allocated a dungeon room under the second reception area facing a wall onto the car park and was told only return customers only get complimentary wrist band upgrade on the 4th visit 😂 LOL. Victor at the reception wasn’t very friendly and it was obvious from the 1st minute he had no intention of trying to help us or allocate another room despite loads appearing to be empty throughout our stay. Don’t get me wrong, if you have booked this hotel I’m sure you will have a great holiday, it’s just on this occasion the disappointing customer service, has put us off returning again. Love Mexico but this last experience will see us at different hotel in the future. Shame really... …
My husband, son and I visited the hotel just before Christmas. Everyone we encountered on the property was pleasant and extremely helpful. We could really feel that they wanted us to enjoy our stay. Any problems that we had were handled quickly and efficiently. The 2 areas of the hotel offered different amenities that provided some nice variety. We took advantage of all of the activities (kayak, tennis, mini golf, gym, snorkel and scuba in the pool). The marina and shops/restaurants within walking distance were a nice getaway. There was a 9 hole golf course a short walk away that provided a great round at a reasonable price. (rentals available). The road surrounding the golf course provides a nice 2km loop for jogging. The buffets and restaurants provided great service and the food was great! The bars near the pools were convenient and offered a great selection of drinks. We wished the room had a larger tv. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.…
