The views from the resort were spectacular but the service from the staff was even better. Marquis is a great resort for couples or friends looking for a relaxing vacation. Although it might not have as many amenities compared to bigger resorts, the vibe at Marquis forces you to unwind and enjoy the ocean view from the wrap around infinity pools. The staff are very attentive! Shoutout to Ruben (Pergola), Hector (by the pool), Mariana & Brian (events), and Arturo and Adriana (Vista Ballenas) for taking such good care of us during our stay! - Jenny & Ken

I sure hope they put the chairs back on the beach. We are coming back for the second time in March and that was one our favorite things last time around. We enjoyed everything about the Marque while we were there in March 2020.

Just got back from a week at the Marquis. Lots of positives and a few negatives. First, the positives. Staff is amazing. Super friendly and willing to do pretty much anything to make your stay positive. Very attentive and helpful. The property is immaculate. Spotless. The views are breathtaking. Open air lobby is stunning. The location is good as well. Short Uber ride to Los Cabos or San Jose Del Cabo and not terribly far from the airport. Being an all inclusive, the food is above average. Not gourmet, but definitely not inedible. The drinks are similarly above average, but it helps if you are specific as possible in what you want as things definitely get lost in translation. There are some "name brand" liquors available, but don't expect any fine wine or bourbon. If you speak some Spanish, you'll probably be ahead of the game on this front. Also, the property is pretty small. You definitely run out of restaurants after a couple of days and in the evenings there is only one outside bar available. The covid stuff is a pain. Masks are required even while outdoors (unless eating or drinking) but they do provide the necessary exit Covid test for $50 per person which is nice. The pools are great, but none of them are heated. Probably not an issue in the summer but was definitely an issue in January and there are no hot tubs, either, unless you are getting a spa treatment. Gym is well appointed, but due to Covid you have to make an appointment to use it and the mask police are constantly circulating. The beach is pretty, but guests are not allowed to swim in the ocean due to currents and riptides. If you want to do anything other than look at the ocean, you will need to walk to another location. Along those lines, there are no beach amenities- no chairs, no paddle boards, no jet skis, et cet. There is usually a short entertainment program near the pool most nights, which is pretty solid. Biggest issue for us was the rooms, which could use a refresh. And there is very little in the way of bathroom privacy. The bathrooms all have a jetted bathtub (old) that opens into the bedroom. I guess the idea is you can be sitting in the tub and see out the balcony?? Anyway, only a thin fabric curtain separates the bathroom from the bedroom and the toilet is behind a frosted glass door that is visible from the bedroom. A little close for comfort sometimes. Overall, a solid choice, especially for shorter stays.

We had a great 6-day stay at the Marquis from December 23-29. Given the omicron variant issues, we almost canceled the trip right before leaving but felt that we needed the break and took our chances. The hotel property is wonderful. All the rooms face the ocean and have nice patios where you can enjoy the morning coffee and evening cocktail. The rooms are large and well appointed. They have a mini-fridge that they stock each day with drinks and snacks. Another nice touch is the in-suite Nespresso machine so you can make your first morning coffee in the room. Additionally, each morning they deliver some nice baked goods to each suite, which is awesome. The restaurants are all very nice although I preferred to order food from the menu rather than go to the buffet. I would recommend the same. The theme nights were nice but, once again, they tended to be buffets. That being said, the seafood night on Tuesday was a sit down menu and was fabulous. You can't swim in the ocean due to the strong undertow but you can walk about 10 mins down the beach where there is a protected bay and swimming is safe there. I only did that once to be fair because the pool situation was so great at the hotel (and the food and drinks were close by).
