We have stayed in many different Riu resort and this one was our least popular. I would not recommend it for many reasons. It is very noisy, at 5 am you can hear the carts rolling along the path also the cleaning carts start rolling around in the hallways. It is one of their biggest resorts and you have to do a lot of walking to get from one place to the other. No shade on the beach. Poolside is very crowded and noisy. I would not bring young children. Swimming in the sea is not safe. I do have to say the resort grounds are very well maintained. Maid service was not so good, very late room cleaning and I had to asked 3 times to get some towels.

My wife and I came down from Canada for 12 nights. The Riu Santa Fe met all expectations when considering the cost. We stayed in room 7308 (building 7 nearest the ocean). Food was good, room was clean and the shower had great hot water and pressure. I’d like to personally thank all the staff for contributing to our great stay but would like to also specifically point out Denise (checkin), Jesse and Bereaus (Baja California) and Monica and Fernando (west pool bar) for their special attention, great service and always smiling. We will be back.

Chose the Riu Santa Fe as I saw a decent star rating, looked nice and as part of the Riu family I believed the service would be excellent. How wrong I was. 3 nights in a row, I had issues with dinner service. Fight nearly broke out near my room at 4am, was not able to call security due to lack of working phone, apparently did not have a connection. As a solo traveller, this is a safety concern. Fridge in room also was not working. Showering was a fun experience as the handshower would fall out of the clip everytime hitting me in the head or feet at best. Housekeeping for the rooms also lacking - room not properly cleaned when I checked in. Also entered my room on checkout day before checkout time even though I had "Do Not Disturb" on my door. I knew as the doortag was inside my door, glass I was using for water was replaced. And some other details I noticed as well. I had complained to Riu Customer Service by email and was told they would not assist. I had to see the desk on multiple occasions to have issues resolved. There was a complete lack of attention to service and details to ensure all had a pleasant experience. Horrible experience, will never use a Riu resort again and not recommend to anyone.

We chose Riu Sante Fe, because we saw it while we were in Cancun earlier this year, it looked nice, so we decided to give it a try. The front desk has to be close to the most inept staff I have ever met. There were a couple of helpful ones, but for the most part, they were useless and “company liars”. I felt that I lost my ATM card in the ATM machine in the lobby. I told the front desk on Wednesday and that I wasn’t leaving until Saturday. I was assured there would be someone there to open it by 11AM the next day and to check after. No one came. Different story given on Thursday…no one still came. Same thing every day until we were waiting for our taxi on Saturday morning. For a group of people so hungry for “tips/propinas” they didn’t really grasp that their tips were all on that card in their machine. Food was mediocre at best. I could go on…but you can imagine. The front pool by the beach is just a sloppy frat party and no one cleans up. My son and I were going to go deep sea fishing Wednesday morning, leaving at 5:30AM. As we walked through the dark courtyard, employees were cleaning up broken glass and puke from the nightly party that is held. We were forced to use a taxi to get to the marina. Ubers aren’t allowed there…must have something to do with the Cartel running the taxis…so our first taxi brought us to the wrong side of the marina despite me being crystal clear about needing to be by Senior Frogs, Dock C. $14 before tip for a 6 minute ride. We had to grab a second taxi to get us to the other side of the marina so as not to miss our boat…taxi dude charged another $14 for 3 miles. Our room’s door jam had obviously been wedged open or kicked in. Anyone could easily get in. Bugs all over the bathroom sinks. Best of all was this for the greedy employees. We went to get our COVID tests in the 6000 building. The “nurses” in there legitimately had an empty box of masks that they had written “Tips/Propinas” on and they would shut it when a supervisor walked in. They wanted a TIP for giving COVID tests that allowed us to visit their resort for thousands of dollars. A TIP!?! I hope the “Reputation Manager” responds to this better than the Front Desk could respond to anything. The trip cost us over $5000…wasn’t worth $1000 in my book or my experience.

well maintained resort in a great location, 20 min walk to Los Cabos marina along the beach, with five beautiful pools, tasty food with good variety of choices, we liked the fresh juices in the morning, very friendly staff. Masks were required in all indoor areas, I would want a plain surgical mask to be available for purchase.
