To start, let me say I was with a group of 10 people (7 adults, 2 kids + 1 infant). We had 4 rooms among us, and paid the extra for Preferred Club, which we're glad we did! At check-in, the Preferred Club staff was very helpful, pleasant and friendly. They were quick to get us to our rooms, but that is where the problems began. 1 room had the wrong bed type (2 queens and we paid for a king), and it was directly behind the lobby bar on the main level. Sure, if we didn't have our kids with us, maybe this would've been okay. But, staying steps from a noisy lobby and bar wouldn't work for us. So, after having the bellman (who was very friendly) take our luggage + rollaway to this room, we had to go back to the Preferred Club and ask for another room. This took a very long time, but we were eventually given a different room after some persistence. This room was okay, thankfully, though the nearest elevator was pitch black inside and without any lightbulbs the entire stay. Next, two other rooms in our group had everything from ants, to construction, to plumbing issues. Why a hotel would begin construction work at 4-5am everyday outside, next to, and above hotel rooms is a mystery I'll never understand, but this was very unpleasant for our group, especially while traveling with an infant who naps, etc. Eventually they got a new room, but it wasn't much better. Next, food. While none of it was inedible, none of it was truly good. Not to mention the wait time for a table, even when arriving right when the restaurants open. No reservations were accepted, though this would've helped greatly. On our last night, we planned to eat at the French restaurant (which is adults only) and made arrangements for our kids to go to Kids Club and eat there. Well, we arrive to the French restaurant to put our name in, only to find it dark and vacant. AKA closed. We asked a hotel associate in the lobby why it was closed (after all, this was a Saturday night of Thanksgiving weekend - hardly empty at the hotel!), only to be told that they "close randomly sometimes". So, with that news, our group makes our way to the Oceana restaurant (where we dined our 1st night), only to be told of a 40-60 min wait. Fine, we put our name in and go to the Preferred Lounge for a drink. We go back to Oceana after the wait and find out it will be another 45-60 minutes. Less than pleased, we say okay and continue our wait for food we didn't want. We then had to divide our group due to the time and pick up our kids at Kids Club, and ended up eating at the buffet, disappointed and frustrated. All said, we did enjoy Portofino (Italian) and the World Cafe was fine for breakfast each day. Still, mediocre at best. Oh, and if you're a vegan, forget this place. Two in our party are vegan and they struggled at every meal each day, and were hungry, frustrated and disappointed for the entire stay. This is after speaking with the concierge to make arrangements to accommodate their needs, too. If you're in need of a highchair, be careful. We needed one at each meal, and all but 1 in the entire resort had all parts included. Same goes for a crib. This was included when we booked our reservation, we called numerous times to reconfirm, but was a huge challenge when we arrived. If you're still reading this and decide to stay here, be sure to spend the extra for Preferred Club. The liquor selection is vastly better, and the access to the lounge and separate beach section (if you get there early enough to "reserve" a lounge chair) is well worth it. That, and the staff at the Preferred bars are great! Johnny at the beach bar as well as Omar and Roberto in the Preferred Lounge were fantastic and made excellent drinks. All in, this wasn't the worst experience we've had, but it was far from a dream, and one we won't have again.

We stayed at dreams with our family for Thanksgiving this year. We arrived early on November 24th. Our room was delayed in being ready, but we enjoyed the pool and had a great time. We immediately noticed the lack of service. It is typical for loungers to fill up, but there were no towels available during our first 4 days. After asking several employees they said there were not enough and to check back after lunch. We did each day, but still never could get a towel until late evening and near dark on our last two days. During check-in the preferred desk was overwhelmed and we never got any information about covid testing to return home or had any introduction to the resort like you typically receive at Dreams/Secrets locations. Our room was only cleaned 4 of the 6 days we visited and we stayed out of the room most of the day each day on excurions or at the pool. The biggest thing that really set this stay apart was how understaffed the entire resort appears to be. The staff that is there is working very hard, but they seem tired and need help. Service was slow and two evenings our waiter never returned to offer dessert, we couldn't get water cups filled, food was decent to poor. I feel like the preferred club isn't worth it at this resort at all. There were some employees that were so helpful like Ricardo at the main desk and Juan that waited on us during Thanksgiving and made my birthday so special. Other employees like Amor at Seaside seemed pained to offer any service at all. We love traveling with our family and this is the first dreams that we have dealt with out of control children, running through halls, knocking on doors, extremely disrespectful and ruining peoples trips. We won't return to this resort because of the experience, but have had great experiences at other dreams locations in he past and will return to those. For the cost it really wasn't a luxury experience at all. So many unhappy people with food and service all around us.

We chose the Dreams resort to have our wedding sometime in 2019. After COVID hit, we pushed our celebration back to 2021 and it was well worth the wait. Yazmin was the most attentive and supportive wedding coordinator we could’ve hoped for. Anything I asked, anytime I emailed, she was always available with a clear and prompt response. Once we were on site at the resort, she was available for any questions an anxious bride could throw at her. She made me feel like I was working with a friend and eased any and all concerns I had. We kept our ceremony simple, but the resort is so pristine and beautiful, everything turned out perfect. I would definitely recommend the Dreams Resort for wedding celebrations. For the rest of our vacation, the resort was great. Food selection and taste was amazing - our favorites were the Barefoot Grill and Portofino. The wait staff were so friendly and accommodating. There was a great selection at the restaurant and resort bars. COVID testing was offered on site and was easy to schedule and get results for. The only challenges we faced were with reception, which mostly stemmed from limited staff at the front desk. We also had a large party who stayed at the resort, for the wedding, and there were some mixups with the type of accommodations, such as a group of 3 guests being given a king sized bed instead of 2 full beds and vice versa, but nothing that would deter us from visiting again. There was some construction going on at a new resort being built next door, but it didn’t bother us much since we weren’t spending a lot of time in our room during the day and it was done by the time we returned at night. If you’re debating whether to visit this resort, I would recommend you do!
