This hotel is very lovely. First off the staff... The serving staff here are excellent. They were all very attentive, and always checking to make sure you are being taken care of. Aldo was very friendly, and quickly recognized us when we arrived at the buffet, seating us quickly and making sure our drinks were full. Suzanna at Guacamole steak house was friendly and funny, also making sure we were taken care of. The reception and cashier were always available and extremely helpful. Second, the food...The buffet was one of the best I've been to at an all inclusive. Of the specialty restaurants, I enjoyed Guacamole the most. I was a little disappointed with the other specialty restaurants that we tried, but overall the food offered was very good and there was something for everyone. Third, the room...We selected the junior suite for our room, and it was well appointed. The bed was comfortable, although not an individual pocket coil mattress. The room was comfortable and the air-conditioning worked wonderfully. They kept the mini bar stocked with water and Pepsi products and would accommodate requests. The alcohol overall was average, definitely nothing fancy, and no top shelf liquor options on site. Next, the pool.... There are two main pools, and two swim-up bar pools. We spent most of our time at the quieter of the main pools, but everything is pretty close, so we didn't really ever get quiet pool time. The pools and pool area are all kept very clean, frequently being checked throughout the day. Every night there was something new for entertainment, over the 10 days we were here there wasn't 2 nights that were exactly the same. And the daytime poolside entertainment was always fun as well, with aqua aerobics, zoomba lessons, water polo, volleyball games, and more. Jackson with the entertainment team was great! Visiting during COVID was a concern, but this resort is very considerate of cleaning protocols and ensuring people are wearing masks in the buffet and restaurants where needed. I felt very comfortable with the processes in place for safety of everyone. They also offer both PCR and antigen testing on site Monday to Saturday, with AMC, currently from 9am to noon, with the results delivered by email 24 hrs later which I found very convenient. We ended up going to the AMC hospital, which was only about 10 mins away, because the times didn't line up for when our flights home were. But even that was without hassle. My only complaint with this resort was the noise. I like to sit by the pool and relax, and read a book. That isn't really possible here because everything is very close together. There is no quiet time, until after 11 pm. The design of the hotel has the rooms surrounding a central garden and theatre area. There are exterior rooms, one side faces the Riu hotel next door, and the other an empty lot. The neighboring hotel had a few parties that got loud, but if you want a quiet room, definitely ask for an exterior one. The other noise complaint isn't really the fault of the hotel, but the other guests. You add enough alcohol and everyone gets louder, and again, because everything is so close together, every loud drunk person seems that much louder. Overall, I liked staying here. They do a very good job of making a stay here enjoyable. If it was quieter, I wouldn't hesitate to come back again. Thank you Riu Baja California. I appreciate your efforts, our vacation was lovely.

We returned on Saturday from a wonderful trip at RIU Palace Baja California. Overall, I rate this hotel a 4/5 for this price point (significantly cheaper than some other all-inclusive hotels). My biggest complaint is the freaking Do Not Disturb sign for the door will not stay on the handle (first world problems). This should tell you how good it is. I have broken down some individual ratings below. 5/5 – Hotel Staff. They go above and beyond to make sure their guests are serviced well. We tip well so this could be part of it, but I don’t think so. I think it is an example of how they shine in this area. 5/5 – Pool and facilities – Beautiful pools overlooking the ocean. Facilities are kept very clean. They are constantly cleaning! I do recommend taking flip flops to the pool to wear back and forth the restroom. The tiles are very slipper. The biggest complaint here is the requirement for a towel card. We were at the pool one day and had our belongings in our chairs. Some people that showed up after us couldn’t find what they did with their towels. They tried taking ours and I stopped them saying hey man, those our towels. The guy didn’t like it very much and made a scene. I chalk it up to him probably being a little buzzed and wouldn’t normally act that way. After he left several other guests that witnessed it were talking about him making a fool of himself, but I really think this is more of a bad policy issue. I don’t know what would happen if someone lost their towel, but it makes people nervous of being charged or not being able to get another towel. Only hotel guests are allowed on the property so why require a towel card? 5/5 Buffet – All the buffets for breakfast/lunch/dinner were top notch. I have stayed at several more expensive AI resorts like Dreams and Majestic Elegance and their buffets don’t compare to the quality and options at RIU Palace Baja California. 1/5 Specialty Restaurants – Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the other restaurants except the Japanese. It was good. I have never walked out of a restaurant before, but the Krystal Fusion was inedible. None of the group could eat what they served for entrees (we all ordered a different entrée). We then went to the Indian restaurant but some other guests leaving said it wasn’t good. They said the Japanese and Italian were the best in their opinion. We opted to go to the Italian instead of waiting on the Indian and it was barely better than Krystal. We didn’t have many options left at that point unless we left the resort, so we made it work. We did eat out at several restaurants off property so we did not eat at the steakhouse, and I cannot speak to the quality there. 2/5 Nighttime Entertainment – Maybe we are spoiled from the quality of entertainment at other resorts, but it is seriously lacking. 1/5 Beds – We had two separate beds because they were sold out of kings. That was fine because it says that you may get one king or two small beds when booking the Jr Suite Courtyard View. Unfortunately, it was the worst bed I have ever slept on. I toss and turn a lot and it felt like it would break each time I moved because it is so un-sturdy. None of the negatives would prevent me from returning to this hotel and overall, we had a wonderful time. Go, you will love it!

Great resort. The food and restaurants were amazing. The staff was friendly. The resort was always clean. The rooms are huge. The Marina is super close and great to visit. Not far from the airport. We will definitely be back.

What an incredible resort! Not only is the location stunning, everything about this resort is breathtaking. The check-in experience was quick and the staff were kind and very informative. The champagne served at check-in was a nice touch as well! We travelled as a group of four ladies - all of which have stayed at multiple all-inclusive before, however, we all agreed this tops the list for best yet! To say you are treated like royalty doesn't seem quite enough - while true, I would say they managed to make us feel like family as well. We never had to wait long for anything (Except one dinner experience, but the PR team went above and beyond to ensure this was rectified - all thanks to a quick note to the entertainment manager Balam!) The drinks were delicious - I don't understand previous reviews saying they weren't good/watered down - and you never sat with an empty cup/glass for long (if at all!). The service and selection in the buffet were far superior to any we have experienced before when travelling. The entire resort was constantly being cleaned, we never saw any garbage anywhere and the staff was always out and about cleaning and wiping down surfaces. I was nervous to travel during this time, but for anyone else who is nervous - this is the resort for you! Shout out to Balam, he was not only incredible in helping to smooth over that situation, every day and night he was leading an incredible team of entertainers. During the day there were a lot of different activities by the pool, almost all of which included prizes! The nightly entertainment was a lot of fun, and Balam did a remarkable job of getting everyone engaged. His positive attitude and kindness to all actually had us coming back to the entertainment far more often than we had planned. Our who group agreed that he was the best we have seen at any resort. Every member of the Riu team made sure we were well taken care of. Oscar t the swim-up bar was a blast - as was Aldo in the buffet. Thank you to every member of the team! We only got back two days ago and I am already looking to book our next trip back so we can visit our friends who make up the incredible staff at Riu! Thank you!!

There were 5 in our group, we had 3 rooms 2 were courtyard and the 3rd was partial ocean view. we had no issues checking in the staff did a great job, Beach and pools, The beach is not swimmable and we knew that going in, the pools were very nice and make up to that, plenty of sun and shade and beautiful views of Land's End. Service; The service around the pools and the dining areas was wonderful, everyone is very polite and helpful, they all work hard for their tips. Food and Beverage; We were all satisfied with the drink options, we felt the alcohol was not watered down. The food was very good as well. The buffet was very good for it being All Inclusive, there was always plenty to choose from. We ate most days from Pepe's for lunch it is poolside. The Japanese, Indian and Steakhouse is where we ate for Al A Carte with the steak house being our favorite. Highlights: We did the Pub Crawl one day which started at the Palace Cabo and worked our way back to Baja hitting all 7 swim -up bars. would highly recommend this excursion. Some in our group played beach and pool volleyball most games were very organized. The beach games were hard on your feet. One day a few from the group went fishing and brought Dorado back to the resort. The chef from the buffet prepared it for us many different ways (including fish tacos) it was absolutely fantastic. Low lights; For us, we felt the entertainment should start earlier and be better, we felt it was weak. In closing; The resort was beautiful the rooms were modern and clean as well as other areas of the resort. We would recommend this property and hope to return.
