Be Tulum was the perfect place for our honeymoon. The entire property was magical. We felt secluded from the outside world, but we could experience the beauty of both the jungle and ocean. Alejandra was our concierge for our stay, and she was extremely helpful. We coordinated our day excursions and spa services with her, as well as asked her various questions throughout our stay – she was very kind and responsive to all of our questions. The food and beverages at both restaurants – Ocumare (Michelin star) and Maresias – were excellent. Everything is fresh and health conscious, so I didn’t feel bad eating the delicious octopus tacos for lunch every day. The service at both restaurants was great – attentive, quick and friendly. The margaritas were so fresh and delicious that I even asked them for the recipe so I can recreate them at home. We enjoyed waking up every morning to the sounds of nature and walking down to the beautiful beach for breakfast, followed by some lounging on the beach under one of the many cabanas. The pools surrounding the beach property were a welcome refresher after spending time in the sun. The staff was extremely attentive and frequently checked in at the cabanas and by the pool to offer us food & drinks. Our room was awesome (a jungle suite) – plenty of space, hot water, and air conditioning, which can be hard to find in Tulum but was much needed on the hot days. Our bed was so plush and comfortable, and the bathroom was huge with two sinks and a walk-in shower with 2 shower heads. The spa was also excellent – we got the Garden of Yaan treatment and my skin has never felt better. It was a nice way for my wife and I to relax together and enjoy our honeymoon so I would highly recommend getting at least one of the services during your stay. You also get access to the healing water circuit at the spa which is a must! We will definitely be back soon, and we cannot wait to see all of the staff who made our honeymoon so enjoyable.…
Poor management. I asked a question on day 1 and on day 4 I still did not have an answer - this tells me they management/owner/training is not good. The breakfast staff was great and the breakfast was good. Rooms were nice but overpriced for the lack of finish work. It was definitely a jungle look, but needed some attention to detail especially when paying $1000 USD a night. We had a little pool outside our room, but I was not confident swimming in it..something felt dirty about it. I doubt I will be back, seems like what I saw in the area with a few other hotels, may be a bit more simplified, but cost is 1/2 the price. I have the money to pay for pricey places just don't like feeling taken advantage of.
we were a little bit disappointed by some little details that shouldn’t happen in a hotel as expensive as the Be (about 1300$ for 2 nights). the last day, when I did a last check of the room before leaving we found a dildo under the bed from the previous occupants of the room. I brought it back to the reception and they just said a shy sorry without nothing more. It is quite disgusting to find that kind of stuff in our room. And I am really asking to myself how the cleaning team clean the room. The same last day, we have decided to sleep a little bit longer and the spa called us about a booking at that time that was not ours. They did a mistake, it happens, but when you are on holiday, you don’t want to be wake up by a phone ringing about a booking for other guests I told these things when we checked out and the front desk team did not see very surprised or sorry about these problems. Then I wrote 2 emails and no answer... I guess it is usual for the Be to let old sex toy next to customer's bed and to let the spa call every single client in the morning, even if they did not bot ANY treatment during their stay...…
We booked this hotel for a weekend getaway to Tulum purely based on online research having not known anyone that had stayed at the hotel. It was an incredible experience and didn't disappoint! Check in: Upon arrival, the hotel had an incredible jungle feel. We checked in and were offered a welcome drink (a margarita) immediately which was a great start to our vacation! Check-in was at 3pm, but our room was ready shortly after our arrival at ~2pm so we were able to check in early. A member of the front desk staff showed us the pool area and then to our room. The paths on the hotel grounds are incredible and really make you feel like you are in the jungle. During the day its easy to see, at night they light candles/lights along the path and often have incense on the paths (as well as throughout the hotel) which goes along with the general feel of Tulum. Room: We booked a garden view room (which pretty much looks out at the jungle). The room was very clean and had a cool shower both indoors and outdoors, which was our favorite feature! One to note: there isn't a TV in the hotel room, although that didn't bother us. Amenities: The wifi was fast and reliable. Since the hotel is large, there was a different network for the lobby and the room, and sometimes the service at the beach was spotty depending on where you were sitting, but we were generally pleased. The hotel also offers the free use of bikes at your leisure, which was a nice service and we enjoyed taking advantage of in order to explore the area. Beach/Pool: The beach was fantastic. There was plenty of seating that ranged from lounge chairs in the sun, normal chairs/bean bags under umbrellas, to lounge beds under canopies. People do go over early and claim their seats. The beach itself was amazing and the seaweed wasn't a problem at all at this time of year. The pools were also very nice and although we didn't use them, they are right on the beach so is very easy to go from one to the other. Food:The food was delicious. The breakfast that was included in our stay was fantastic and quite comprehensive including coffee/tea, bread basket, fruit plate, an entree, and juice. My boyfriend was able to eat breakfast nachos with his toes in the sand (there are tables at the start of the beach) and was happy as a clam. We also ordered a variety of food/drinks (beers, margaritas, chips/guac) while we were lounging on the beach as well and all of the food was delicious. Check-Out: The hotel is strict about check-out times. When you check in they make you sign a paper saying you agree to vacate the room by noon and they will charge you $80/hour for additional time. We were planning to check out at noon, but were showering/changing just prior to leaving and one of the housekeeping staff actually entered our room unannounced at 11:55am, presumably to clean the room, which as a very awkward encounter. We ended up checking out without a charge at ~12:10pm, but gives you a sense for how strict the hotel is. Further, we asked our tour guide for a day trip to Chichen Itza what the best hotels in Tulum were and he said Be Tulum is one of the best, which validated our decision to stay there. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely stay there again for our next visit to Tulum!…
My husband surprised me with our stay at Be Tulum for our honeymoon, and the best word I can use to describe the hotel is magical. Having done an incredible job to preserve the breathtaking natural surroundings, we were easily able to unwind, rest, and breathe in the beauty of the earth around us. The beach front was carefully groomed each day, with stunning blue and green waters. I appreciated their every effort to be eco-friendly. Our room was eclectic and wonderfully designed. The perfect space. I wanted to highlight a dear fried we made over the course of our stay. Emmanuel was our server for many of our meals (if not all because the food was just that amazing). He is one of the most hard working men that I know. His hospitality is outstanding- from the moment we met him, he made us feel like family members being hosted in his very own home, not merely guests in a hotel. Emmanuel has a thorough knowledge of each ingredient within every menu item, a warm and kind personality, always joyful, and positive. He even went as far as helping us learn some of the Mayan language, being that he is a Mayan descendant and we were curious to learn more about his culture. By the end of our stay it felt like we had known him forever. We also had an incredibly helpful concierge named Sam. She was the sweetest and most pleasant. Any time we needed help with a booking or additional information she was quick to accomplish it. Sam has vast knowledge about the surrounding areas, the culture, and different languages. She was quick to respond to my messages and made herself available to us at any moment we needed. To say we enjoyed our stay is an understatement!…
