We loved this boutique hotel. It was quiet and clean and the service was excellent. We did spend more money than we realized on taxis to and from town. Next time we’ll stay here and rent a car. The breakfast included was perfect.

Hotel's Favourite
We loved our stay at Alea Hotel. We stayed three nights here and will definitely come back here next time we are in Tulum. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff is super accommodating and friendly. Breakfast is included and they offer a great selection as well as proper coffees. They also provide canoes, paddle boards, snorkeling gear, and sunscreen/oil complimentary for your use. The hotel is located just outside of Tulum but takes around ten minutes by cab. If you prefer being on the quieter side of Tulum with your own private beach then Alea Hotel is perfect for you!

We stayed next door at their sister hotel called Mereva but came here for dinner. The food is modern Mexican cuisine made with love and care. We had ceviche and duck tacos as started. The ceviche was fresh and the mix of mango really cut the acidity. The duck tacos were very good too. As main we went for the ribs and cochinita pibil. The mole sauce for the ribs was something to die for! For dessert we had churros and, while we were waiting for it (15 mins) we had a mezcalita, Miguel is the genius behind the recipe. What a cocktail! Mezcal, hibiscus, chillie... The churros and icecream were just unbelievable! Overall, a great fine dinning experience, it comes with a price though, almost $160, but as we are on honeymoon, it was totally worth it. The service was ACE, thanks Erick, Miguel, Gerardo and the kitchen staff for this incredible experience.

My husband and I found this place and had only booked one night. We ended up staying for 4 nights. It is everything we wanted. The rooms are first class - even good coffee makers (Nespresso)! Great showers, comfy beds and a balcony to watch the sun rise over the Caribbean. There is a constant fresh ocean breeze, and a wonderful natural granite poo. The food is excellent and can be served inside or out as well as in your room. Finally, the staff are all exceptional. It has very laid back, non-pretentious feel. Oh, and I can’t fail to mention there is q beautiful Cenote for snorkeling right next door as well as kayaks (free) to use. We paddled out to the reef right off the beach and had the best snorkeling adventure ever. I hope we can return to this place. a true gem! Thanks especially to Miguel and Eric!
