We just got back from our first family vacation in Mexico, it was beautiful and my 8 year old son loved Mexico. The resort needs some improvements. We literally I think got the worst room in the resort, it was right over one of the buffet restaurants, so when we opened the patio door, which lead to no view and the smells of grease our whole room filled up with the smell, then when the restaurants were done for the night you could here them moving tables and chairs to clean, didn't sleep much the first night. I requested a room change, the front desk took forever, but finally found a different room for us, which was the same price as the previous room. The new room was much better, the only downfall was the way the patio was sloped water didn't get to the drain, it rained a few times and the whole patio would fill up with water, which is a safety hazard, my husband and I would take towels and push the water to the drain. The air conditioner units work great, but wow are they loud when they kick on, it definitely wakes you up. The restaurants are mediocre at best. The food is decent and there was always lots. The Italian restaurant was always packed and you had to wait like two hours to get in. They opened at 6 PM, but sat people at 5:30, we showed up one night at 5:50 and they said they wouldn't be able to seat us until 8:30, so we decided instead of buffet food again we walked across the street to the Live Lobster House, it was pricy, but the food was amazing and such a great experience. Unfortunately that night on our way back to the resort my husband lost his bracelet, they pitched a huge fit about it, said they needed to see his passport and that it was going to cost $300 for a new one, he told them that wasn't happening and that we wouldn't be back and they just gave him another bracelet. My bracelet fell off during an excursion snorkeling and they didn't have a problem, they just replaced it. I know every resort has it's ups and downs. There are so many resort to try in Mexico, if/when we return it will be to a different resort.…
This is our 2nd year staying at resort, very clean, friendly staff. Our favorite restaurant is Viaggio, our waiter Filiberto is the best there is!! He makes our evening so special, very accommodating, goes above and beyond for us. We request him every year, absolute best food at the resort! Friends of ours have been coming here for many years and we all love it. This trip was our honeymoon and we upgraded to a room with infinity pool, absolutely amazing! The pool wait staff are great and fast! This year was a bit different as far as alcohol goes, they dont serve for as many hours as they have in the past & not much of a night life as far as dancing goes, which is the only downfall of the resort. This year there were so many young kids, which I dont mind at all, although I would suggest that they declare one pool for adults only and have the kids swim in the pool where the children's playground is located. Some people go away to get away from the sounds of screaming children while on vacation. I would recommend anyone to stay at Panama Jack Resorts.…
Overall, the resort is very nice and clean with a great location. My only real disappointment was with the ocean view. I have stayed at several beach hotels and this was easily the worst ocean view so far. Yes, you could see the ocean from the balcony if you looks out at a 45 degree angle but the ocean wasn’t visible from the room unless you essentially stood against the sliding glass door and looked sideways. Calling this an ocean view room is bordering on deceitful. I am sure it is not intentional but that is my feel none the less.
Room was great (2402), fabulous view (Ocean view) over the pool and partial sunrise. The room cleaners were wonderful! Hotel amenities, except food, were great. The breakfast buffet was fine, but otherwise the food was just acceptable (in restaurants and the buffets). Even the room service was pretty menu we selected was pretty just tolerable! Please work on that Mr Panama Jack!
If you are fortunate enough to visit Panama Jack’s Cancun, you absolutely have to experience “Casa de Rosa” restaurant! The food, atmosphere and overall feel is nothing less then first class! Thanks primarily to “Javier” the most attentive and personable waiter who always went above and beyond our expectation! Make sure to ask for his service to ensure the highest level of professionalism. Furthermore, Karina, the hostess was extremely pleasant and attentive, making our visits memorable. We will definitely be returning to Panama Jacks Cancun!
