It was a great holiday! Everything was great since we arrived, the hotel was really nice and we really enjoyed our stay. I want to specially thank Sergio from the entertainment team for making us feel included, we really enjoyed the Karaoke night where he was de host, had a lot of fun! And we had a great time at the Bingo activity where he was part of!
I went to the GR Solaris in Cancun with some friends in January and had an amazing time at the resort. All the staff were incredible and the shows were amazing and so entertaining. I want to thank Sergio for making our time so fun he was such a nice humble and helping person and an amazing entertainer! Me and my friends will definitely be coming back soon!! Thank you, thank you!!!
The best holidays We arrived at the Gr solaris hotel and we were surprised to see that they are actually taking into account the issue of Covid and taking care of people, on the other hand I want to thank To Sergio from the entertainment team for making our vacation an incredible moment, we liked the show, you can see that he has great talent, the activities in the pool in time and order and doing karaoke with him is super fun, me and my family hope come back soon.
Amazing! Exceeded all expectations. We took a 10 year anniversary trip with 2 other couples who it was their 10 year anniversary too. We did have gold bands/member benefits while staying. We stayed Jan 16-22. Room: We upgraded ahead of time to the Panoramic room. It was stunning. Glass doors/windows on 2 sides of the room allowed for great views and ocean sounds. Room was cleaned every day and we had fun little blanket designs or towel animals each day. Hector did great. A really nice touch is Solaris gives you 5 towels in your room. This was perfect for morning and pre dinner showers. Nice rain fall style shower head. Beach: The beach area was perfection!! The actual sand was very soft and not full of shells(unlike the beach farther down when walking). There was a long covering on one side of the stairs and then we always stayed to the other side where there some individual cabanas/huts/mini palapas. I got up each morning and would lay our towels out on a couple chairs under one of the huts. Ocean was great, we had a couple days of perfect waves and swimming weather. Then had a couple days of bigger waves with no swimming allowed but we were able to get in to knee/ hip deep and still enjoy some waves. Lifeguard on duty made sure people were staying safe. You will see vendors coming by. None were pushy and a simple no thank you/no gracias and they were gone. We did get some Sunglasses from Jose and another guy made some really cool bracelets with our kids names weaved into it. Food: Breakfast each day we ate at one of the two locations open(cafe Solaris or Rosmarius). Great omelette stations and other breakfast items. Get beans with your breakfast it is so amazing with the eggs and potatoes etc. Izamel was great each day, he brought us a big plate of bacon each morning(haha typical Americans) Lunch time we stuck with the brick oven pizzas(Jose did great and was working super hard) then also the guacamole at the outdoor dining area was great. Also they had burgers and fries and other foods too. Dinner: We ate at cafe solaris the first night. Phenomenal fajitas. The rest of the week we ate at Marco Polo and our last night we had Zai. Those 2 places require reservations and for men pants and closed toe shoes. First day there just book your reservations for the whole week. Marco Polo was great, each night was a different theme. Eli took care of us very well, I was deemed Big Papi the first day and he would bring us shots during dinner. Spa: Both myself and my wife went to the spa. We both had an 80’ massage and then my wife also got a 50’ massage outside by the ocean. It was the best. Very worth it. Special Shout Outs: Our vacation was amazing and we loved it but it would not have been the same without 2 special employees: Henry: Henry made flaming coffees in the lobby from 3-6 each night. First the coffees were phenomenal and a great pick me up before getting ready for dinner but secondly Henry is just an awesome and standout human. We saw him other times working the lobby bar area. Was great to learn about his family and he was great. Luis: Luis was our bartender in the Premier bar. The Premier bar is for members only and we must have been there during a down week because the 6 of us were the only people in there always. We made friends with Luis quick and he proved his excellence right away. Luis came in every day around 3:30. All the drinks we got before that time anywhere else didn’t compare to the way Luis made them. Overall better flavor and you could see him making the drinks differently. Each night Luis would have set up a special drink in the bar waiting for us to make it in front of us. He enjoyed the challenge and joy of making something different and fun for us and each time they tasted amazing. While we hung out in the member bar after dinner he would make other special drinks for us to try out. I have never had service in the USA or abroad that equaled what Luis did during our week. Other then the phenomenal beaches, Luis is the reason I would book another stay at Solaris. …
This is my 3rd trip to Cancun during this "pandemic". GR Solaris really does a wonderful job keeping the place sanitary and allows for others to clean their hands frequently with all the hand sanitizing stations. Mask usage is pretty respected throughout the resort and no one really over crowds anyone else. I upgraded to room 8110 with a nice balcony and jacuzzi. WORTH EVERY PENNY. I took full advantage of this amenity sometimes twice a day when the pool became crowded. My stay was short, only 4 days, but I did enjoy myself. It could use a makeover to make it a tad more modern. I travel quite frequently so I will list pros and cons and not sugar coat. Pros: 1.The resort is clean and the workers very friendly. I didn't feel pressured to do anything time share related. 2.Coffee maker, safe, iron, blowdryer and all toiletries were a nice touch. 3.Room service was quick, I ordered twice and both times my food was delivered within 20 minutes fresh. 4. Shower was always hot with great water pressure, room was just large enough for the two of us without feeling cramped. 5 towels provided in the bathroom was a nice touch, I never felt like I was going to run out. Cons: 1. Walls are paper thin. I was awakened nightly by my neighbors stumbling in at 2.30 am making all kinds of noise. Just inconsiderate. 2. For the most part the food was good, but sometimes it was just off. Cold or lukewarm. But when it was fresh it was tasty. 3. People save chairs as early as 8 am. Kids splash around in the pools where people are trying to relax, nap, read books. ( this is to be expected I guess, but parents need to mind their kids-it's rude.) 4. Drinks are watered down. The alcohol just tastes a little different. Maybe because I wasn't a premium member? Overall, if the price was right I'd return. But I do not think I'd make an annual trip to this resort when there are so many others within the same price range with no kids and more consistent food choices.…
