Had a great time at this resort. Room had an ocean view which was spectacular. There were many choices for restaurants and also room service. Loved the food presentation at Malva! They were pros at displaying the food— and there were so many choices. Our favorite restaurant was Agua Marina, a seafood restaurant. From the hostess to the servers, waiters, and chef the experience was phenomenal. This was a well run restaurant (Thanks Rafael Chavez). We also loved the trio they had playing on Tuesday and Friday of trumpet, guitar, and bongos. The music was great.

Hotel's Favourite
Paradisus Cancun This resort was spectacular. Our room was the Reserve Ocean View suite. Upon arrival we were directed to the Reserve area, which was in building 5. The Reserve check in was absolutely stunning. The relaxing music, the subtle smells of vanilla and lavender, the pools of running water, the hanging vines, the lanterns, all just a sensory delight. Check in took just a few minutes and we were escorted to our room by our concierge Jose. Jose made our dinner reservations for the week and said if we needed anything to let him know. Our room was just mere feet from the all day charcuterie board and bar. Julio made the perfect drinks. In the morning, there was a variety of fruits and breakfast snacks along with a coffee bar, juices and morning beverages, yes you could get a Mimosa or Bloody Mary. In the afternoon, this area has drinks alcoholic and non-alcoholic as well as meats, cheeses, warm snacks and desserts. Room Our room was perfect for us. Upon entering, the bathroom was on the left. The bathroom had a single sink with hand soap and lotion, as well as a few other boxed amenities, which we never opened. To the left of the sink was the water closet, to the right of the sink was what can only be described as a shower room. The shower room included the large soaking tub and the rainfall shower. The shower had excellent water pressure, one of the best showers we have experienced at any resort. The shower room was all glass, separated by a somewhat sheer curtain, perfect for the ocean views and sunlight, but not perfect for privacy. The shower included Biology shampoo, condition and shower gel. To the right across from the bathroom was the closet that included a safe, ironing board and umbrella. The closet had a light that doubled as a night light to the bathroom when the room was dark. The room had a king sized bed that was a bit hard on my back, but a mattress topper was added, and it was very helpful. The room had a sitting area near the balcony as well as a table with 2 chairs. It was sparsely decorated, but comfortable. The morning sunrise with ocean views was incredible beyond words. Restaurants When staying in the Reserve area you have access to Sante. This is where we ate upon arrival. Sante turned out to be our favorite place for breakfast and lunch. The food was fantastic and had the perfect ocean views. The staff at Sante was very attentive and made sure we didn’t need a thing. Sante is located right by the adult-only reserve pool. The restaurants we’re beautiful. They all had a different decor that was reflective of the menu and style of cuisine. There were many options that could accommodate a variety of tastes. That said, while the service and menu options were always excellent, the execution of the meal itself was somewhat anticlimactic given the beauty and attention that surrounded you. The food wasn’t bad, but it just seemed to be less elevated than all the other sensory queues. When staying in the Reserve area, you had a one time access to Sal’s Steak house (this restaurant is an extra charge if not staying in the reserve). Like Sante, Sal’s was excellent, the quality and creativity of the food were elevated compared to the other restaurants. We also had the opportunity to dine at Ceilo, Aqua Marina, Lemon Fish and Cappella. There were 2 mornings we opted for Malva, the breakfast buffet. However, once we discovered Sante had breakfast, we never went back to the buffet. Sante was just superior. One “must”, is the Kanna Beach Club (food at this location is an extra charge). Upon entering there is a small bar with swings and multiple seating areas. We discovered this small, out of the way spot while exploring the resort after dinner on a warm evening. The location is nestled into the side of the hotel facing the shore with about a 10 to 15 foot drop to the sand. It’s almost like a deck built on the side of a cliff overlooking the ocean. The surroundings are very casual, we sat on a couch near a coffee table facing the ocean. That in itself was great, but the way the location as designed meant that there was very little light from the adjacent facilities, meaning the view of the stars was absolutely breathtaking. They seemed so close, and we just sat listening to the waves and marveling at the heavens. Words fail to describe the experience. Off Resort Dinner One of the great things about Mexico, and Cancun in particular, are all the off-resort options for excursions, dining and shopping. We always felt completely secure and didn’t feel the need to take any extra precautions beyond what we would normally do with a trip downtown in our home town. During this vacation we decided to explore dining options outside of the hotel. Our concierge helped us decide which options fit our taste and even made reservations for us at two nearby eateries, The Crab House and RosaNegra. Both of these were only a short walk from the resort so we didn’t need transportation. The Crab House was very good, specializing in seafood fare that went well beyond what you might normally expect in the US. It’s a bit pricey, but worth the extra money to dine on high quality ingredients while watching the sunset over the lagoon. Our second dining experience was really one of exploration and surprise. We arrived at RosaNegra and were escorted through a very busy restaurant by an army of young, chic attendants. Sitting at our table, we found it difficult to talk due to the surrounding noise. Some may like that kind of bustling environment, but we prefer something a little more subdued and less busy. For us, this just wasn’t the place, so we politely told our waiter that we were going to go find something a little less energetic. The next thing we knew, the manager arrived at our table, explaining that there were other dining options that would be a better fit just a short walk from where we were. She offered to take us. We were off! Instead of walking us back out of the restaurant, she escorted us to a boardwalk on the bay that led to an Italian restaurant called Parole. Apparently there are five different venues all connected and owned by the same company. Shocked at the beautifully lit paradise in the distance, we were completely intrigued by what lay ahead. We were warmly greeted and found a great table overlooking the lagoon. The menu was huge and included some really creative Italian favorites as well as some really nice wine options. I could go on about this experience but it was just what we were looking for. In short, the Wagu meatball is huge and excellent as were all the courses we enjoyed. Additionally, Parole had some fantastic entertainment that included an electric violinist and a painter. Yes, a painter (I won’t spoil the surprise.) I would highly recommend either of these as a great addition to the on-resort amenities. Evening Entertainment To be honest after dinner most evenings, we loved looking at the stars from the seating area at the Kanna Beach club. We did spend one evening at the Ginger bar. It had a band that played 80s music and were very good. However after long days in the sun, we were tired and ready to sleep by 2300. Spa One afternoon we spent at the spa. Left our phones in the room safe, (Believe it or not, lol). Upon arrival to the spa my husband and I were each escorted to the male/female dressing areas. Once undressed, we were given a robe and taken to the hydrotherapy area. Each dressing area had access to a steam room and dry sauna. After about 10 minutes, we were brought to a cool water shower area with a variety of water jets. We were lead to the hydrotherapy pool. It’s a cool water pool with various jets and sprays to relax your muscles. It was wonderful. Once you completed your time in the pool, you were offered water or green tea and had a few minutes to lounge on a couch before moving to the massage area. On our way to the massage area, we were escorted back through the dressing room and out into a public hallway area in our robes. This was a bit unnerving and did take away from the newly induced relaxation. The massage, for me, was a bit disappointing. The face pillows were very firm and I ended up with a headache by the time the massage completed. I was also disappointed because the therapist asked what area to focus on, which for me was neck, scalp and shoulders. Unfortunately, the therapist failed to really attend to those spots, spending most of the time on my legs and back. My husband also felt the face pillow was firm, but he managed to find a comfortable spot. His massage was focused on the lower back, and seemed better than mine. Overall it was a disappointing experience for me. Marching through a common hallway, pressed into a concrete face pillow and misaligned massage left it difficult to find a benefit from the therapy. Pool The adult reserve pool was nothing short of perfect. It was heated and always seemed just the right temperature. Surrounding the pool were Bali beds, complete with additional loungers for those times you wanted extra sun. Reserve guests are guaranteed a Bali bed for 2 days of your stay. Additional Bali bed access is granted via requesting placement on a waiting list. You may or may not get one depending on availability. We were lucky enough to have one every day of our stay. Go to the towel hut to coordinate Bali bed access. Jennifer and Nicole managed that amenity and were excellent, handling our requests and setting up our pool side oasis. Food and drink service is also available right from the bed. Valeria and Oscar were our pool-side concierges and they brought us drinks and food throughout out the day. They made sure we had an ice bucket filled with bottled water and seemed to effortlessly insure that anything you might need was already at your disposal. The food came from Sante so it was always excellent. One day we asked for a Bali bed over looking the ocean, this was not ideal as it was windy and a bit cold. The next day we chose to go back to our pool view Bali bed. The pool was perfect for floating on a raft and getting some sun. Special thanks to Nicole, Jennifer, Valeria and Oscar, they made sure we were comfortable, well fed and well hydrated! Beach Standing in surf up to my waist, i could see my feet resting on the white sand. The water was clear and magnificent. The waves were active and a bit rough for some, but I found it wonderful - an almost spiritual experience of the power, majesty and beauty of nature. The sand between the resort and edge of the water was not very long and the drop off to the ocean was steep. The sand was clean and soft, except for the occasional tuft of seaweed. Our daily routine included getting up and going to the coffee bar just outside of our room. We would have our coffee and watch the sunrise from our balcony. Then we would get dressed in our swim suits/coverup and go the Sante for a leisurely breakfast. After that we would make our way to the towel hut to talk with Jennifer or Nicole and find our Bali bed. We would alternate laying on a lounge chair for sun, swimming and then laying in our hut reading or napping. We also took random walks to the beach through out the day. Oscar and Valeria also made sure we didn’t skip any meals. We would return to our room in the afternoon, stopping at the Reserve charcuterie and bar before getting ready for dinner. After dinner we typically found our way out to Kanna beach club for drinks and stargazing. Overall this was resort speculator, from the sunrise views from our room, the food at Sante and the very attentive staff/concierge at the pool. Reserve is a must!

We booked a winter get-away and the Cancun weather was PERFECT.....around 80 degrees and low humidity. Our room was nice, a comfy bed and pillows with a large bathroom and very large walk-in shower, marble floors and curtains to shield out the light to sleep in during the mornings early mornings. The food was excellent...with something for everyone (Japanese, Mexican, Italian, seafood and buffet-style restaurants all on-sight). A few smaller food stops were surrounding the pools. The beach was VERY clean and white, matching the turquoise waters, found in your dreams. I want to give a special shout-out to our favorite nighttime bartender, Karina Salvador from the Kanna Bar. We hung out with her EVERY evening till bedtime. We hope to see her again...."wooop wooooop"!! The overall resort was VERY clean, smelling of lavender, like a full day-spa, the moment you walk in. The staff was always helpful....even when I lost my prescription glasses and they were found and turned back over to me the very next afternoon. The ONLY hiccup we had was that we booked a room with an ocean view, in which we were given a room with two twin beds....not a way for a couple to fully enjoy a "couples trip". Fortunately, they had one room available with the last King Size bed and the ocean view. Sadly, the view was about 50% obstructed by an industrial roof top air conditioner above the lower floor buffet, causing our room to continuously smell like "fry oil" from your local fast food joint. Since we didn't spend "much" time in our room, we just chalked it up to a mild inconvenience....keeping this from a 5-star evaluation. This being said.....we loved the stay and location overall and will be back.

We just got back from our stay at Paradisus Cancun. The location is amazing. Didn’t take too long to get there from the airport and it’s right across the street from Aquaworld if you’re interested in doing any excursions, you are literally right there!! The beach is white sand and the ocean water is so warm and clear! The waves were fun to play in as well. The resort itself is close to the beach and pools so you never feel like you’re too far away from anything. The only negative thing is that people would reserve their pool chairs by putting towels or things on them even if they weren’t actually there. If you come down to the pool at 8am, you will not be able to find an open chair, which is pretty frustrating when there is literally no one down there. You could reserve a day bed, but for $250 USD a day, we through that was just a little too much more than we wanted to spend to be pool side. Even the ocean side chairs were “saved” as well. So, unless you want to get up at 6am when it’s still dark to reserve your chair, you might be out of luck. We did that one day and there were still only a few chairs left. Wish there was a better system in place for that. The restaurants were hit and miss as far as food goes, but that’s pretty subjective depending on what you like to eat. Our favourite restaurants were Flora, Lemon Fish and Agua Marina. We didn’t stay in the Reserve side, but if you do, you will have access to a couple more restaurants free of charge. The service in the whole resort is absolutely amazing! Our favourite server though was Juan at Agua Marina. He was super attentive and just so much fun! He made our dining experience that much better! If you love the Beatles, he may even duet with you! ;) The rooms were clean and comfy, but a little outdated. We would have loved to sit out on the balcony together as a couple, but there was only one chair. In the mini bar, they had some soda, water and beer. It was a little disappointing that the only alcohol they offered in the room was beer. I’m not a beer drinker and one night, we started our evening a little bit later and wanted a nightcap, but were told the resort stopped serving at 11pm due to liquor laws. Would have been nice to have had something in the room that we could have had. Overall, we were really happy with our stay. They had lots of different activities and entertainment and we had a great time!

Location: Beautiful location one of the best spots in Cancun. Beach was perfect very clean no weeds or rocks, fun to play in the waves. Room: Beds were comfy, room was kept clean I believe they all have balconies with lots of space. Pool: Great pools very clean, many are connected and can walk in the pool to the swim bar. Bars: Best was Ginger bar for karaoke and the beach bar with the swings. Really good service, bartenders are well trained and the booze selection is really really good. Restaurant/Food: Best food is probably the Lemonfish restaurant. Decent Sushi there. Best server was Juan at Agua Marina. Dude is a legend. I can't recommend enough. A man of many talents and a genuinely great guy. He made our trip extra memorable. Thanks Juan!

Beautiful resort, excellent service and a shout out to our concierge, Lili and pool/restaurant servers; Gabby and Joel. The only issue we encountered was the lack of pool/beach chairs and the need to continually get up earlier and earlier to grab them-even in the "Reserve" area. Takes away the "relaxation" for a vacation.

The rooms were dated and could use some refresh. There were entertainments and activities to do throughout the day. Every worker there was very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Special thanks to our concierge, Daniela, who listened to our concerns and went up and beyond to make things right. She also helps us made last minute reservations and check in on us daily to make sure we are doing good.

This resort is worst than a dumpster fire. At checkin the young lady who’s checking us in was on the phone the entire time which took over half hour ; my room number was in 3000 which I assume was on the 3 rd floor. On the way bell hop is explaining all the restaurants are in the lower level where I’ll be staying at first I did not understood him so I asked him to repeat himself. Which he reiterated I’ll be in the basement; I stopped him and asks him to take me back to the checkin since I paid for a king junior suite with a lagoon view. The audacity of this check in attendant without asking or discussing where she was putting me to stay. When I got back to checkin another young lady was there; claimed she couldn’t give the room I booked. After going back and forth she became extremely rude referring to me as LADY keeping on telling me she cannot accommodate me meanwhile acting as if she’s doing me a favor by giving me any room. Finally I asked for a manager she found a king junior suite lagoon view in the 3rd pyramid. On the way to the room elevator has no light, hallways are dimly lit and felt quite unsafe. The new room was the biggest disappointment its stunk of cleaning solution, beyond outdated and old, outlets did not work and the balcony was disgustingly dirty. Spoke to the manager again at 7.00 pm we were finally accommodated in the first pyramid with double beds with a promise of a king room the next day. This room was an upgrade from the last one. We went to get dinner at 8.00 pm none of the restaurants were accepting more guest for the evening so we dined at the subpar buffet. During the evening the power went off we called the front desk we we were told we did not know how to use the light switches and someone would be up shortly to show up NO ONE EVER came or checked on us. We were told the new room would be ready at 3.30 pm the next day; leave your bags in the old room and it will be moved. Our bags were never moved we had to do it our selves. At beach on a daily basis not enough chairs and umbrellas unless you were willing to fork out $220.00 per day. I will never go back to this resort neither will I ever recommend anyone to stay there. I absolutely hate this resort it’s my 8-9 time to Cancun and last last stay at the paradisus Cancún.

STAY CLEAR!! THEY MIGHT ERASE THIS REVIEW. We stayed from Sunday to Friday we ignored all the little problems like wifi out for two days electricity outage at night but by the by the 4th day we all started to get stomach aches. We had 10 ppl and the adults and children all got food poisoning. We are all medical professionals and thankfully we brought medication. Spent our nights on the toilets and had to run back n forth from the pool or beach to the toilet. Cockroaches in two restaurants and definitely don’t eat the sushi or the burgers. The service was amazing the management is horrible and will ignore you. They wouldn’t allow us to speak to the general manager and kept avoiding it so they sent Mr. Ataury (a resident manager in his twenties probably) doesn’t know how to care for his guests. Leaks from the floor above us flooded in front of our rooms. Management (Mr Jose Ataury kept trying to offer us to come back for a complimentary voucher to which I expressed to him that I will not want to return to a place that we all got food poisoning from. I DONT KNOW WOULD YOU?

Paradisus Cancun completely stands up to its name! The hotel is beautiful, the atriums are lust with plants and trees making you feel like you are strolling through the rainforest! What makes this resort stand above all others is its staff!!! Customer service like I have never experienced! Moises at the reserve pool took exceptional care of us and always kept us laughing! Oscar made sure we had chairs on the beach…even our last day! Caesar introduced us to Mango Tangos on our day we had a pool cabana! Luis (the pool bar tender) made us the best drinks and surprised us the last day with a drink in a cantaloupe made like the cutest penguin!!! I can’t forget the spa days with Lorena and William—best massage ever!!! My friend has been 5 times and although this was my first—I will most defiantly be back!!!
