I had an absolute great time celebrating my 30th birthday here. I read read read and read some more the reviews before I decided to cancel my booking at another hotel and stay here. The food was god. I absolutely loved the lunch meat sandwiches haha. I stayed in the adults only villa. It was a bit cold and rainy the first few days so I used those days to relax in my room. It was clean and comfortable. My mini bar was always restocked in a timely manner. I had such a great time I'm planning to book again for the summer. The staff were delightful. The COVID measures were great and constantly being cleaned. Wonderful stay!
Beautiful resort in a beautiful location. Loved the amenities and the ocean view jacuzzi suite. Professional staff. Sanitization was up the par and in guidelines of the covid 19 prevention procedures.
My son and I went to the Riu Palace Peninsula for a week long vacation. I was worried about the food at an all-inclusive resort, but was pleasantly surprised. The buffets were good, as well as the restaurants. My son is a rather large eater, and the staff was happy to bring him several entries. The room was clean and we had an outstanding view. The lobby was inviting and there were several areas for groups to gather, whether it was for a snack from the bakery or to hear live music (piano or saxaphone). The staff was amazing (Max was our favorite waiter) and they were always eager to help us in any way. Finally, I felt that the resort was taking sufficient precautions to ensure guests' safety during COVID. It was also nice to get a free, on-site COVID test at the resort before boarding our flight to go home. We will definitely come back to this resort and will recommend it to family and friends!…
This was my 3rd time staying at a Riu property. I trust this company and go back largely due to the fact that they have a great staff. The nightly entertainment, pool staff, and waiters are all fantastic.I was greatly impressed with the cleanliness of the resort, not just COVID related. Everyday I would see someone cleaning something I never even thought would need cleaning. A few cons, the food was very subpar. The Japanese restaurant was terrible however the Italian restaurant was not bad. The buffet was s a safe place however you have to keep it very simple or else you'll have an upset stomach. Also majority of the drinks were gross. I think it was a mix between cheap liquor and terrible flavored syrup. Do yourself a favor, do not let the front desk place you on the 1st floor. We were put on the first floor right above the buffet. Every morning and night we were woken by moving chairs and plates rattling. The Riu Peninsula is so grand and large I really think they would benefit from a remodel. The entire place looks like it's stuck in the early 2000's.…
Was granted a early check in and very convenient (paid) late check out. Staff at reception is very well trained. Bar and restaurant staff are very welcoming and even remember names of guests and their preference in drinks. Rooms need a little maintenance here and there and cleaning good we a bit better, but nothing major. Hotel was 50% full (government rule) when I was there and this was just fine. Good beach and it was great to relax at the pool
