This was our first vacation during the time of COVID. If you have any doubt about safety at this hotel, banish those thoughts right now. Literally the second you walk in the front doors, the Marriott Cancun Resort staff and procedures are making sure your stay is relaxing and safe. Masks are required in all indoor areas, there is hand sanitizer everywhere, limited numbers of riders on elevators, and plexiglass at the front desk and concierge. Yet, even with all these precautions the vibe of the resort is welcoming and relaxing. This is mostly due to the wonderful staff. The front office manager, Ambar Delgado, is incredibly helpful and kind. All the restaurant and beach staff were top notch with a special shout out to Enefren who is over-the -top service oriented. The spa is truly another level of relaxation. Massage, body scrub, facials and the sauna are all worth the small spurge. Because the hotel is at reduced capacity, they are wisely taking this time to make improvements around the pool. They are removing the balustrades around the pool area and replacing them with plexiglass so you will be able to have an unobstructed view of the azure and turquoise Caribbean sea. This does create a bit of noise but we just found a place under a palapa on the beach and no problemo. The breakfast was really, really good. Fresh squeezed juices, $12 unlimited mimosas, espresso drinks and a wide array of sweet, savory or spicy full breakfasts, There are plenty of restaurants on-site or right next door at the JW. But if you want to leave the property, there are also great restaurants within walking distance. My husband and I are frequent world-wide travelers, we loved this resort and plan to return.

When one reads a review it is for a reason. After seeing all the great reviews about the Marriott Cancun Resort is there a reason you have not hit the "Book it Now" button here on TripAdvisor? How many more great reviews do you need before you feel comfortable about reserving this Resort and feeling confident that you are making the right decision? Are you going to click on the bad experiences and bad reviews next? What is the point? Boredom? I have stayed at many properties here in Cancun and I must say, "The Higher Standard is here." Everything about the Marriott Cancun Resort speaks a class above and the 3500 great reviews should also be speaking to you. Don't let those few bad experiences keep you from "Booking it Now". Can I find something to gripe about the Marriott Cancun Resort? Sure!! If I wanted to just focus on one bad thing and let that out weigh the many great things about this property I might call that, "My Bad Karma." So, what are you waiting for? The rates to go up as inventory gets less? If so, I would call you foolish. If you are wanting to miss out on a great place to stay, I would also call you foolish. If you are stubborn to seek another place, then go stay there and be a dumb dumb to miss out on a great experience and a great place to stay. If you are in the process of "Booking it Now" then enjoy the fantastic vacation and you have chosen wisely. Take this review from someone who holds the highest standards and if there was something negative to stay about the Marriott Cancun Resort, I would have said it by now. Great Hotel/Resort, Great Service, Great Room, Great Poolside Hospitality, Great beach, Great Room Service, and the Great Thai Restaurant at the Resort is delicious. To Management and Corporate, you owe me a free week for this fantastic review about your property. Out of the 3500 5 star reviews if someone doesn't "Book it Now" they are truly morons and don't deserve the Higher Standards. We look forward to staying at this fabulous gem within the Marriott brand again and again. But, first, after you pay up that week you owe me for this review. If the service falls below your standards, then speak to Paulino, Hector, or Amber. Thank you to all who we encountered at the property. You know who you are Pablo & Edgar at the pool :) In special recognition to these two individuals I can guarantee you will be full of delicious food, kept feeling good with those Pina Coladas or blending drinks, and receive a Higher Standard of Hospitality than at the Ritz Carlton. They both need a promotion and a raise, but not sure they would take it, having the best jobs poolside looking at all those bikinis and having more responsibility is called an achievement. Ok, Ok, maybe a raise for them would be a better motivation for them to continue to treat the Marriott Cancun Guests as they do. Pay them!! They make the Resort a lot of money serving poolside drinks and food. A company should reward this and an asset to the brand is what we want in an employee. If there was one thing that the Marriott Cancun could do better about, this is it......On that note, take away from this review what you will. You might even think I am being paid. You bet your butterfish on that one. I want my free week Marriott Cancun Resort!! I'll be collecting it soon and look forward to seeing limited availability the next time I try to "Book it Now" Keep up the excellent work Marriott Cancun Resort!! 3500 Outstanding Reviews speaks for itself in pounds sterling!! Not a guest of this hotel but since our hotel got a cooperation with the Marriott Beach Resort and our hotel doesn’t have a beach, we took advantage of the offer and went there 3 days in a row! Staff very friendly, welcoming as hosts! Being escorted by an employee of the beach club, she installed our towels on the beds we chose. Perfect view over the ocean and beach, service at your sun beds. We have seen better cocktails but the food is outstanding! Delicious, great portions and a great variety! Sunday we went for the beach brunch...what an experience! With all Mexican known dishes...prepared right in front of you -mostly-! Big big compliment to the cook who prepared the Fried Fish!!! What a taste! Thank you for a perfect day at the beach!

Outstanding attention to detail from the moment we entered for breakfast we were greeted with a radiant smile from Sara. They knew who we were, cared about our pleasure with the meal. Chef Christian “Cime” takes such pride in his kitchen and staff. One of the most wonderful experiences in Mexico, I felt like I was a VIP With the way the treated our family. Memorizing names, serving with a smile, being extremely friendly. The breakfast was an awesome experience, with our servers; chef Christian, and staff Enrica Lopez, Flavio, Diana, Javier Parez, Faridt, Aiden Nela, Carlos Sen, Eduardo, Kaevardo foz, and our hostes Sara!
