This is the second time I have been to the Seaview and been very disappointed. I thought I would give it a second chance as it used to be so good but the menu now is limited and the service is appalling. On arriving we were offered a table then the waitress walked off and went to clean other tables. No-one came to ask if we wanted drinks or to offer us a menu. When we did managed to catch a waiter’s eye and ask for a menu be dropped one sheet of paper on the table between 3 of us. We asked for more menus and were told no, they were being kept incase anyone else came in. It was 2.30pm. The menu used to be so expansive but this was minimal to say the least and boring. I shall never go there again. Sad as it used to be one of our regular visits.

We stayed at the Seaview over the weekend as we had a family event nearby. We booked two rooms at this hotel and i must say both rooms were lovely. They were both nicely decorated, very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The Full English Breakfast the next morning was freshly cooked and delicious. Parking is limited but we had no trouble in getting spaces even though the pub was busy as i think most of the trade is passing from the beach which is only a few seconds walk away. I would definately stay here again in the future.

We went on Saturday night for dinner for a friend's birthday and were incredibly disappointed by the service we received and the food choices available. As a vegan I usually check the menu before visiting new places - but just assumed that a pub would have something I could eat as I can't remember the last time I went out for dinner and there was nothing on the menu! It felt like I'd stepped back in time by 15 years! When I asked if anything could be made for me, I was offered either a Halloumi salad or a veggie curry with egg noodles!!! The staff had no idea what vegan was, so I ended up having to suggest my main course of a flat mushroom with some fried onion in it served with chips and salad - and the only option for a starter was more chips!! We were also asked to pay in advance so we asked to set up a tab and were rudely told "No because people do a runner". I understand this can be a problem for places - but it was the attitude of the waitress which was so horrendous that made us angry! To top it all off, when we ordered a bottle of wine for 4 of us to share, it came with only 3 wine glasses! We asked for the 4th one and was told they didn't have any and were too busy to wash any up!! What were they expecting we'd do? Drink out the bottle??? I suggested they brought out any shape glass instead and was greeted with the same 'We're very busy' response! A lovely lady at the next table even offered her empty wine glass to be washed up for us! The whole situation was so badly handled we felt we were on a prank tv show and ended up crying with laughing (or we'd cry with dispair!) Having not been out for dinner with my friends for over a year, it was such a disappointment! I've given my review 1 star as my friends said their food was nice (prawns & whitebait as starters and mussels and a duck salad for their main courses) and the male waiter who ended up serving us (after we asked not to be served by the miserable waitress any more as didn't want to spoil our evening any more than it already was) was very nice and tried his best to rectify our comedy of errors evening! Such as shame as it's a great location and there's limited competition in the village for pub food! The potential to be a great gastro pub is huge if they hired some friendly & experienced staff and amended their menu to include a few veggie or vegan options! We won't be going back....

Popped in for a quick drink while on a walk along the beach - 11.45 am we were told we could wait in the garden until the pub opened at 12. As we waited 3 other groups arrived and were told the same. The waitress who came out to serve us was so incredibly slow and inefficient, she took one order, went in and ordered it, waited for drinks to be done and brought them out before taking any other orders. She finally took our drinks order , when we asked for 3 bitter shandies she said “ Do you want Fosters?” We explained Fosters was lager and she said “I’m under age, I don’t drink so I don’t know what bitter is” Not really an appropriate answer for someone serving drinks! We had our drinks then decided time was getting on so would stay and have lunch. We asked for menus twice and eventually got them, then no one came to take our order so we left. Never to return! Awful service

The main attraction is the friendly confident staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Well done Jamie. You are doing a fantastic job and are worth your weight in gold - I hope you are appreciated! Food is great, good selection of drinks.
