We loved the island and everything about it! The beaches, turtles, friendliness of the staff, food, drinks, bungalow. A trip to the 5.8 underwater restaurant is also highly recommended! Our favorite restaurant and bar on the island was O-restaurant and also Sangu when you want a more quiet meal/night. Definitly want to come back

Hotel's Favourite
Kuredu as 8 time repeaters we didn’t think it would get any better - it is is for us the epitome of luxury and style a stay in paradise. We usually stay in the ‘O’ beach villas and use the ‘O’ restaurant which has incredible views and a beautiful pool. After 5 visits we get the benefits of being able use all facilities and so this trip we used the Sangu restaurant and pool as well and were hooked! Breakfast daily on a table set on the beach overlooking pristine turquoise sea - pancakes or eggs made to order even a honeycomb - they even had Bircher muesli ! - it’s the little things ! Oh and the little bananas grown on the island so sweet and fresh passion fruits were amongst my favourites. The restaurant is incredible - imagine a large Parmesan wheel set alight to melt the cheese into Rissotto rice while you watch ! They have a chef using a traditional clay oven to prep Nam bread and Chicken and fish tikka - using local herbs - everything beautifully presented and so delicious. An all inclusive restaurant where Maldivian Stripe Lobster was on the menu one evening ! blown away. So when I talked about style - it is things like this -the views - pool side service - whilst swimming in the infinity pool. Lounge on the most sublimely comfortable beds and being brought cool cloths and shots or cocktails on a tray ! Since we last visited the Island 6 years ago cocktails have been added to the all inclusive i think that’s pretty rare - I was also able to drink premium spirits - checking out a range of great gins. The house red was a gorgeous merlot which we had ever night. Another change is the gym it has been moved into an amazing building -purposes built with a location overlooking the sea - we didn’t make it for a work out but I did spent an hour in the new beautifully designed yoga hut which is also a gorgeous new addition and has complimentary classes. Although we don’t have young kids we saw there is now a children’s play area beautifully designed and flowing as do all the buildings. In the restaurant nearby there is a station area for the children again so beautifully designed with a mural and at their height to serve themselves - everything just works it was so cute. We ate in the Beach restaurant the last night - we have before but it’s even better - the food was Michelin star quality - the chef came to greet us after we had eaten which is a nice touch. We had an amazing experience dining under the stars hearing the water lapping and our feet in the warm sand. We dived with Pro Divers having a tune up with Remi as it had been a while - he was lovely and very patient helping me regain my confidence - as always the most professional and safety conscious team -super friendly and welcoming - we did all our diving certifications here - as did our daughter when she was about 13 - we first came to Kuredu 2005 - in terms of equipment they even have their own decompression chamber on the island. Were taken by the kind and helpful boat staff to sites were we dived into the blue - seeing ledges of turtles in the caves and in the blue 2 feet away saw 3 grey tip reef sharks swimming past. Hot tea and banana cake always a treat on the way back - but on one occasion an even bigger treat around 30 dolphins a few feet away in the water the boat staff intuitively know how to communicate to get them to come to the boat . And if it couldn’t get any better there is also the spa - We spent several hours at the diniye over the water spa sublime scrubs and massages -floating back to our beach villa to watch the sun go down. Every time we go we wonder whether it will have changed and we won’t want to return but for us it’s just getting better, the prices have increased but so has the style and luxury - and we don’t have the kids to pay for now ! having got back on Monday we can’t wait to return. There are repeater guests who have been here 35-50 times that doesn’t surprise us and you might think why would you do that - probably because nowhere else compares - it’s a beautiful island - and it’s supported by wonderful people so why would you go anywhere else.

Just wow.. we knew from the reviews that this place would be special but it has exceeded all our expectations. As everyone quite rightly says, the staff are incredible from the reception team, buggy drivers (Bilal and Alvin especially) and prodive centre crew (Hannes, thank you) although our favourite was the lovely grill chef Maruti at our O Resort who was always there, working so hard and always smiling! We always scour reviews for hints and tips, so here’s ours :-) Plan… download the app, take advantage of 20% off spa treatments in your first few days. If you don’t snorkel, do the lesson with prodivers, it really helps and you don’t want to miss the turtles! We were so lucky to be in the Maldives for Manta season and took a snorkel trip out that we won’t forget. We would have taken more boat trips had we more time. We had a few precious hours on dream island which was made all the more special because of a surprise proposal, what a perfect setting for such a romantic gesture. We were based in the O resort and we loved the restaurant and pool there, but we also moved around the island a lot and loved pottering around on the sandbar. Our beach villa was gorgeous, the bathroom especially and we loved the day bed on the porch. There’s nothing but praise for this amazing place, I cried when we arrived and cried when we left! I’m sure we will be back! Huge thanks to you all x

The best holiday ever . Kuredu is an amazing place to experience the luxury of the Maldives we stayed in a water villa. The views were stunning every day. It was difficult to tear yourself away to visit the beach. But when we did that was stunning too. The staff are friendly they can’t do enough for you. Shafleen was with us for every meal we couldn’t of wished for a better person to look after us he was amazing ❤️ The wildlife is in abundance so much to see, from hermit crabs to sea turtles to sharks to rays it was incredible

We paid a lot of money for a Red band Sangu upgrade because of the exclusivity of the area on previous visits. This time, however, we shared it with blue, orange, and an occasional green band, none of whom paid. The excuse given was that their restaurant was being refurbished, but nothing changed when works had completed and then re opened. This led to occasions of us having to eat elsewhere because our allocated restaurant was over run with orange and blue band. Why did we pay a thousand pound extra for? They also shared our bar. The resort was 40% capacity, but that should not mean a reduction in service. Cutbacks were evident, and advertising for extras with prices are dotted all over the island. Food at the Sangu was often cold to warm, and complaints made only rectified the issues for a day or two. The food was often bland, and again, cutbacks were evident. The stench of dead fish on the beach drifted through the Sangu area, and I felt really sorry for the young man (sometimes 2) collecting all they could into bags. We helped out as often as we could to keep the beach area clean, but not much else was seen to be done. The repeaters cocktail evening was a dismal effort compared to previous ones we had attended. The beach bbq, again, is dismal to previous and not worth the money. Perhaps this was due to 40% capacity again? The staff remain at the standard as we knew before, amazing beyond words, and we thank them so very much for all their hard work. Sadly, we won't be returning to Kuredu.

This was the 2nd time we had visited this island. 2nd time round wasnt as good as the first. Found everything to be very expensive like the Spa, the shop, the trips. Food wasn't hot enough as in warmth, food was a bit bland in the end, the chefs did try though, the rooms we had where great and had the exciting experience of seeing a turtle lay her eggs by our rooms one night. Staff were fantastic and no fault with them. My only issue I had was "2 nights on the trot the island had VIPS (turned out to the actors for TUI doing a promotion video), definitely NOT VIPs in my eyes, they were rude, loud and wanted everything there and then. Sorry Kuredu but we wont be returning again not for that price.

Our previous bands have been Green and then Blue and then, the star of the show for us, Red Sangu. Our choice of accommodation has also been varied but, the Jacuzzi Beach Villa remains our favorite. Sangu JBV always had exclusive benefits worth the extra money such as the bar, the pool and restaurant, which had extra wow factor. Blue band were also allowed the Sangu restaurant if booked and if there was availability and then, only twice per week. This time however, we paid the extra money and shared it with other bands (Blue and orange) who got it for nothing. The excuse at the time was that the restaurant used by these bands was being re decorated but, after completing the re decs, the same continued. On two occasions my wife and I had to eat elsewhere because we couldn't sit and eat at the very place we paid extra to eat because those who hadn't paid the extra had our area. The bar area was also the same and, on some occasions, the pool. This really isn't fair, no matter how you dress it up and mumbling started amongst the paying guests who were just as angry as ourselves and many complaints made. All we ever got back was, "Sorry for the inconvenience ". Why have we paid over £1,000 extra? On the plus side of things, the Island remains stunning. The staff? remarkable, simply magnificent. New Bar Manager Michael (from Wales) has bought fresh ideas and has injected a flavor of his own into the mix (an improvement from our last visits). If you spot Michael, utter "Yakki Da" and have a chat. Michael's staff really like him and this is evident through their actions an unrelenting hard work. Thank you Jewel, thank you Naresh and thank you to the others at Sangu who worked their butts off for us. Our serving staff and Ali at Sangu Restaurant, thank you so very much, you are an asset to Kuredu. Taxi drivers, thank you for seeing us home safely from White Night and our trips around the island House keepers, you continue to blow us away with how hard you work, amazing and thank you. Being returners makes us critical of previous visits but, although the numbers are down (40%) during our stay, should not mean a reduction in services that we have paid good money for. The Beach BBQ was not fit for purpose. The Repeaters Cocktail party was rubbish. Jorge (Resort Manager) you need to up your game my friend. Again, this is a review based on previous holidays to Kuredu.

Response from Ashani Shakila, Owner at Kuredu Resort & Spa
Responded 3 days ago
Dear david j, Greetings from Kuredu Island Resort & Spa! Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with us. We appreciate your loyalty as repeater guests and value your feedback. We understand your frustration regarding the shared access to the Sangu restaurant, access is only given to the restaurant and bar (without benefits). As communicated, we shared temporary access due to renovations; this arrangement continued beyond that period until fewer designated guests left. We understand that this situation seems to be unfair and did not meet your expectations. Despite this, we have given you an explanation related to this subject; you have refused to listen. We disagree with some of your observations, and that was explained to you by our Front Office Manager. I would have appreciated it if we had a conversation before your departure, as requested. On a positive note, we are delighted to hear that you found the island stunning and the staff remarkable. We are glad that the new Bar Manager, Michael, and his team at the Sangu restaurant made a positive impression on you. We will pass on your gratitude to Jewel, Naresh, and Michael. We also appreciate your words about the buggy drivers and housekeeping team who provided every day excellent service to our guests. Your feedback is important to us. We take it seriously; we are continuously striving to improve our services for our guests. Once again, thank you for your feedback and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon. Best Regards, Jorge Amaro General Manager
