Just home from our 2nd stay at the Capercaillie. What an amazing place to stay, everything about this place is 5 star. The owners have thought of everything and house is immaculate throughout. The hot tub is an added bonus and the views are spectacular. We also took advantage of the services of Tracy Lygo of iomaln Sunnd Therapies who came over 2 days to give us all massages which was wonderful. Special thanks to Damien for his help, see you soon.

A repeat visit as this place is just perfect for us. The lodges are luxurious with good quality fixtures and fittings. The uninterrupted views over the Scottish Borders countryside are a real selling point. We used the outside hot tub even though there was snow on the ground! This is checked every day. I have to mention the body wash in the bathrooms. Wonderful aroma. I think available in the site shop (which has a surprising amount of items in case you forgot something. I wish I'd bought one. Can't find it online. We were also left a hessian bag of goodies to help ourselves to. Amazing! There is now a small cafe on the farm which served lovely coffee and cake. We fed our animal neighbours (having asked permission|) - alpacas, donkeys, goats, chickens, etc. The lodge was spotless, the beds comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with kitchen-ware. There are lovely walks all around. We booked Sunday lunch at the nearby Carfraemill Hotel which was excellent. Melrose is a beautiful little country town with an Abbey worth a visit and interesting shops and good restaurants. It is around 25 minutes away from Airhouses. The good thing about Airhouses is that it is not too far from Edinburgh so ideal for us, and yet it seems another world away! We will definitely go back.

Just returned following a long awaited family get together. An excellent venue and accommodation, with owners who went out of their way to ensure everything went as well as we had hoped. Thank you for a fantastic few days.

Our second visit in 8 months, but not our second best!!! This trip was just as relaxing and wonderful as the first stay, despite the unpredictable February weather! Airhouses really has everything you could ever need on a holiday and, as we found out when we got caught in 2 storms, the team have everything prepared. From ensuring we could stock up in the shop and keep ourselves entertained with board games to lending torches and a snow shovel (these last 2 things weren’t needed, but handy to be prepared!). Even in the face of Storm Eunice we were given a courtesy phone call (as we were out and so hadn’t been able to answer the door) and were given advice and the offer of help if needed. The facilities are kept in perfect condition, cleaned thoroughly before arrival. The hot tub is checked twice a day and spotless. Towels (bath and hot tub) are provided, alongside slippers, dressing gowns, toiletries and cleaning products. Damian is always on hand to help and very friendly and approchable. And then of course there are all the animals! Since our last visit the alpacas have really settled in and are now as friendly and playful as all the rest of the animals on sight. We really couldn’t ask for anything else. Airhouses really have EVERYTHING! Can’t wait to return for another trip!!!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are delighted you have enjoyed your holiday despite the weather. We have certainly had good use from the generator this year with all the storms. When the electricity goes off there is just a 30 second gap before the generator kicks in and everything is back on. We do hope you will all be back to Airhouses again soon. Many, many thanks.

Having been to Airhouses a number of times over the last 10 years we came back again with the kids, this time staying in the Buchanan lodge. The kids loved the fact that this lodge had an 'attic', i.e an upstairs and our 7 year old loved having this room to himself. The roof is quite sloped so not the room for a tall person, but still a great lodge. Everything else about the lodge is the high quality we have come to expect too. A couple of small issues were quickly rectified by Damian with no trouble, it is clear the amount of effort that is put in to keeping this place 5*. The farm itself is still beautiful with the ever changing landscape being just amazing. We had sun, wind (Storm Dudley), rain, snow & rainbows throughout the week. It is never the same and that is what we like. I took our kids for an early evening star gazing walk, and because it is lively and remote we only had to walk 100 metres from the lodge to have darkness nough to see the stars and the International Space Station fly over! The wildlife too makes for wonderful viewing, with deer outside most mornings, a possible barn owl sighting and the farm animals to entertain aswell; especially the ponies who seemed so giddy to have escaped this morning and enjoyed galloping round the lodge for a bit 🤣 We enjoyed the 5km route from the farm both walking it and the treasure trail as a family, and also running it a few times throughout the week (I would advise running down the drive first, not at the end of a run) Sadly, the threat of Storm Eunice meant we left the evening before we were due too, to avoid the risk of heavy snow on the journey home. A sad moment at the end of a great week. Can't wait to book again!

Just back from an amazing couple of days in The Lodge. Spotlessly clean, lovely extra touches.....robes, slippers, beautiful toiletries, welcome hamper with locally sourced products and well maintained hot tub. I have been to many self-catering establishments with hot tubs but the standard here is second to none. We will be back!

It was the perfect getaway for our family and what we were looking for - somewhere tranquil, with not too many people around, surrounded by nature and the clearest view of the night sky. We probably should have made more use of the hot tub when it was raining but we had one gloriously dry and sunny day when we indulged in that and the BBQ. The variety of farmyard animals - from exotic alpacas to the friendliest ever sheep, donkeys and Shetland ponies - was another treat. The lodge and all the facilities were absolutely spotless, I don't think we've ever stayed anywhere so clean and well maintained. We would stay here again without hesitation, in fact I know we will.
