...Looks good from afar, but take a close look and you'll start to see the cracks.

Pandering to Belgrade's Jet-set, this hotel could have all the makings of a luxury getaway. We visited just after the hotel had re-opened following an extensive modernisation programme. Just like the Grand (it's sister hotel up the road), the property has been re-designed as a slick and stylish modern international hotel.

Sadly, despite the cosmetic facelifts, the service still harked back to a bygone communist era. The restaurant staff had the enthusiasm of a plate of gruel, and slopped around trying to avoid any kind of guest interaction. Simple requests, such as ordering a coffee or paying the bill were met by a truly incredible level of indifference, inefficiency and incompetence.

Guest rooms were spacious, well decorated and had all the usual mod-cons. Beds were comfy with good quality linen. However the room temperature throughout the hotel was set to "blazingly hot" which actually made it uncomfroatble to sleep. Not that sleeping was much of an option with Turbo Folk blaring from the disco below.

All this was rather a shame. With it's enviable location right next to the ski slopes and the hubbub of the main square, this hotel should have been much, much better. Perhaps all it would take is a manager with a keen attention to detail and some intensive customer service training for its staff.

We stayed there for two nights, two half boards. The food was excellent, varied, healthy and of good quality; with a lot of wonderfully done traditional Serbian meals. I was also pleasantly surprised by the nicely sliced fresh citrus fruit, regular and red grape and pomegranate served at every meal. The cleanliness of the rooms is impeccable. Everything's new and everything functions well. It's centrally located. The only setback is the absence of sound isolation between rooms. I could hear the other people turn over their newspaper pages; luckily, they were not noisy. I suppose they could hear everything we did, too. Kopaonik is a wonderful place; it always has a great effect on your health and the nature is beautiful.

I stayed in Angella Hotel for 2nd time and the hotel is very good, closed to the slopes with very tasty and varied food.
My only problem were the up level neighbors who were very noisy. Probably they have small children who run a lot.
Certainly I will come back here.

This is supposed to be 4 star family hotel but I really do not understand what the word family stand for. Family room is small for 4 persons and bathroom, I did not see smaller hotel bathroom ever. The hotel is sort of a maze without clear signs for exp. ski room, so if you are first time guest be prepared to wonder around till you find what you are looking for (no staff member to help). Staff is not friendly, I think smile has never been on their faces, unprofessional. Staff at the reception is something I can write book about and I do not understand how and why people who obviously do not like their job work there. They are not willing to provide any information immediately or give some information about the hotel upon arrival. If you ask for late check-out they will tell you come tomorrow and then when you do come tomorrow and ask the same question they will tell you again to come tomorrow since manager is not there (why do you need manager; take a look at your system and see if we can have or not have late check-out). So we did not bother to ask again. Upon arrival you are required to leave your ID documents!!! When I asked for them to make a copy and return the documents to me they looked at me like I was asking something stupid and said we can not do that and you should not wait in front of the reception since the girl that should enter the data into computer needs 10-15 minutes and she will not do that immediately. I really thought that this was rude and something that should never happen in any hotel (what right do they have to keep the documents? they should either enter the data immediately or make a copy of the ID card or passport and enter the data when they decide to). Then this family hotel thing they have in their name - there is nothing special for families. Kids club - no. Animation for the kids - no. Some special activities for the kids - no. Food is alright and there is a good variety. There is an information that WI-FI is available and free in every room and in the lobby but we did not have WI-FI in our room. In the lobby worked fine. Parking is behind the hotel and needs to be paid for (this does not guarantee that there is parking lot available for your car - we needed to find another parking). This hotel has so much to improve but first thing they should deal with is their staff. They should teach them how to treat guests and how to address guest' requests and complaints. In the end, staff makes the difference between the hotels - I will always remember hotels with outstanding guest relations and recommend them to family, friends and business partners .

We've been living at both Angella and Grand for a couple of summers recently. After spending time in Serbia during hot summers it is with great pleasure that we leave the beautiful countryside and go for the mountain Kopaonik to cool of and active vacation. Standard and price, plus friendly people and food is excellent. Lots to do and the perfect get away from buisness are the main purpose. Angella is just along the main square...but since Grand and Angela is the same owner you can use the bigger SPA Center at Grand. Angela nevertheless has a great small yacussy and small gym. It has also been newly renovated. For a montain hotel it is not overly luxurius but very tastful and calm getaway. The chain restorant Salas 137 has recently moved in to Angela and has genuin food for good prices...very cosy and a special Serbian touch.

Hotel is nice, clean and very close to slopes. Food tasty and of a good quality. Only reproach is that rooms are small, especialy for ski lovers who need exstra space to put and dry all apparel.
Ski room is small and there is no boots dryer.
Parking space is catastrofic but this problem in almost the whole Kopaonik resort.
Hotel is ok, but not adapted to needs of skiers although very close to slopes.

I have just returned from winter holiday that I spent in Angella. I have spent seven days in Angella with family (including baby, 16 months). Hotel definitely does not deserve four stars - with disturbing noise/music that does not stop until 4 a.m., disgusting odor of the food in whole hotel and leftovers of the breakfast served as a lunches and dinners... Can you imagine that in the second best hotel at Kopaonik guest finds leftovers from raznjici served for dinner last night (raznjici are pieces of pork on a skewer) in the sour stuffed cabbage (kuvani kiseli kupus) served for lunch next day. I just saw hole from skewer in the meat served with cabbage. Disgusting, really. "German salad" was prepared from potato and leftovers of sausage served last day. All cold plates are prepared from leftovers... One water cooler placed in main dining area contains tap water!! This is really unbelievable if we know that tap water at Kopaonik is not recommendable for human consumption. I gave this water to my baby as I believed that water is filtered...

This hotel has only one advantage, and that is postion. Everything else is poor and below any level. Behavior of staff is something that marks this hotel. Impression is that they do not want you there... Sleep quallity is poor too, because you have to ventilate room all the time if you want to breathe. Restaurant. Food is good, but just for brekfast. For dinner you will probably eat the rest of lunch. The hotel was renovated few years ago and now has a four/star, but memories of the old communist hotel are still there.

Great location, and that's almost all on a pros side. This is a decent hotel but it is way overpriced. Rooms are fair but there are many small things that shows lack of care, strategy and proper plan for a future. I've been in this hotel at least once per year last couple of years as I was attending some events. Nothing has been change from the day they've transferred 2 segments of old "Konaci" resort into "Angella" hotel. Strange set up of corridors where if you want to reach the ski box, you need to go to the first floor , walk trough the corridor, take the other stairs or elevator and than go down to -1 floor. Ski box itself is another story - there are no proper ski boxes for each room , but they are giving you some hand written cards with numbers to show you where you should put your shoes on a simple shelves and label your skiis with some stickers with numbers and put it in a joint shelves. Just this year they've placed one shoe drier which costs extra. During the high season ski box is overcrowded at peaks and it smells like hell in the afternoon/evening which you can sense even in the upper floors. Waiters can smile once on a while, and not talk about their work issues in front of guests. Central zone in front of hotel should be cleaned of snow hills as soon as snow stops. From the first snow fall until the end of the season, nobody is taking care of it properly. All in all, this hotel is just using the advantage of it's location and lack of good hotels in the central zone of a really nice mountain.

This hotel is in fantastic location, and I think that because of this location they are not trying regarding small things. Cracked walls, sheets clean but with some stains and holes, hot water you have to wait for mrw than 5 minutes if on 3rd flor. Cleaning ladies are kind and helpfull. Staff in a restaurant not so much. SPA is good, but needs little work. In one jacuzzi there are only two sprinklers working. And it should be cleaned mire regularly. Recepcionists ahould be more helpfull. Food is great and there is always enough of everything. The noise from the caffe Bombarder is so loud that it wakes me up every night around 2 am. Anyway, my son, 5 years old, tolde that he likes this hotel. And, good thing is that nobody is angry or upset if child is runing through hotel, or doing some other normal children's things. We will probably stay here next year, but this hotel needs to be renovated and tied up, or it will be in really bed shape in two-three years, at the most.
