Pandering to Belgrade's Jet-set, this hotel could have all the makings of a luxury getaway. We visited just after the hotel had re-opened following an extensive modernisation programme. Just like the Grand (it's sister hotel up the road), the property has been re-designed as a slick and stylish modern international hotel.
Sadly, despite the cosmetic facelifts, the service still harked back to a bygone communist era. The restaurant staff had the enthusiasm of a plate of gruel, and slopped around trying to avoid any kind of guest interaction. Simple requests, such as ordering a coffee or paying the bill were met by a truly incredible level of indifference, inefficiency and incompetence.
Guest rooms were spacious, well decorated and had all the usual mod-cons. Beds were comfy with good quality linen. However the room temperature throughout the hotel was set to "blazingly hot" which actually made it uncomfroatble to sleep. Not that sleeping was much of an option with Turbo Folk blaring from the disco below.
All this was rather a shame. With it's enviable location right next to the ski slopes and the hubbub of the main square, this hotel should have been much, much better. Perhaps all it would take is a manager with a keen attention to detail and some intensive customer service training for its staff.
My only problem were the up level neighbors who were very noisy. Probably they have small children who run a lot.
Certainly I will come back here.
Ski room is small and there is no boots dryer.
Parking space is catastrofic but this problem in almost the whole Kopaonik resort.
Hotel is ok, but not adapted to needs of skiers although very close to slopes.
"Ask for the rooms that are oriented towards the small lake. E.g. those on the floor 0 are great."Read full review
"Rooms facing the parking must be quiter cause there is a lot of noice from the bars in the rooms facing the center."Read full review
"Rooms on the first floor are the best because the hotel has to much corridors which are very confusing and you have to walk around to get out or to the reception or to dinner. The lift is very often busy so if you have kids be careful."Read full review
