This is my third and last stay at Atlantis. Came for a family trip with a total of 6 rooms booked in Topaz Suites at $800 per night. We arrived at 3:00 and were told check-in was at 4:00 and they would text us when our room was ready. Only 1 room out of our 6 was ready by 4:00. The rest of us received text messages after 7:30 that our rooms were available. Then our suite had not one, but two clogged toilets. I called to have them serviced and they were not fixed until the next day, but only after I spoke to the hotel General Manager. Food at restaurants was good, but nothing great. But we booked a cabana for 3 days and the food was actually pretty good for poolside service. Be prepared to have at least half an f the attractions closed during your visit. You won’t see that on the website, but the water park rides are closed on a rotating basis. The rides my kids were most excited about were only open one of the four days we visited. Other attractions are closed entirely, but the Atlantis website makes it seem like everything is open. My kids were excited to do the Atlantis Motor Speedway, but it was closed indefinitely. Same as many more attractions. Grounds are dirty. Some staff are fantastic, but most are awful. Our cabana attendant asked for a “generous tip” before we were even done with our service, and she didn’t provide much service. We came here for many of our 6 families to enjoy the water park, but it wasn’t worth it. I got engaged here in 2009, but it has lost its luster. My next family trip will be to Baha Mar which I just heard opened there own water park. I hear that resort blows away Atlantis. My stay was in a suite at the Reef. The Topaz 1-bedroom suite has a great layout, but the service does not match up. I am leaving this review before I have even checked out.

This is the best hotel to stay at on Atlantis if you like gorgeous view, large room, and kitchen. Our travel agent, Beth McDonnell at TripGuy travel set us up with an amazing room and details about traveling in the Bahamas. She made it very easy to navigate the health visa requirements and we received clear details about flight and accommodations. There are many choices to stay at Atlantis and Beth helped us pick the right one. The property is large and easy to leisurely enjoy over a few days.

Let me begin with the COVID question in your mind: the resort, island personnel and government are very careful and concerned about the opening of the island. The main concern is that The Bahamas only purchased enough vaccine to treat healthcare workers and persons over 65 years of age. The staff and personnel of the resorts are NOT vaccinated. The government handles the travel visa and retesting very efficiently. 2 people per room receive free COVID tests at Atlantis. Schedule your re-entry test for 3 days prior to departure the MINUTE you arrive. Now the resort: you already heard or suspected this is the Las Vegas of the Atlantic…the resort doesn’t disappoint. The water park wasn’t overcrowded. Cruise ships have only recently returned and now Nassau is a home port for RC instead of Florida. This hasn’t yet created an influx of day guests, perhaps due to COVID restrictions. Book your dining reservations well in advance as the restaurants are tough to secure reservations. We recommend Carmines for family style Italian, generous portions would make this a good choice early in your stay so you can take the leftovers to your room. Fish is an exquisite Jose Andres restaurant and was really special. Olives was another family pleaser. If you are spa-minded there is a 20% discount for booking before you arrive. Book your dolphin encounter before you arrive for early in your stay as well. The snorkel gear provided is yours to keep and can be enjoyed throughout the stay. The Reef Rooms have kitchens, are well appointed with coffee, and are luxury accommodations for sure. However, the “pull out” sofa bed is the worst we have ever encountered. Maybe passable for small children but not extra adults. There was an awesome Frontgate inflatable twin cot in the closet. The staff are all pleasant, cheerful and accommodating. We had breakfast daily at Mosaic at the Cove and Gladston King was the very best waiter we’ve ever had. Some simple tips: Bring water shoes, the pavement is CRAZY HOT in the water park and we experienced sore feet from the combo of pool pavement and hot temps. Book dining waaaay before you travel. There are not many fine dining choices by the time you arrive. Water bottles are provided for free filtered water stations around the resort. Bring a Sharpie to label keys and water bottles. No pool rafts or floats are sold/rented that we saw. If you want them- pack some. Life vests are available by pools for children 30lbs and under. It’s been very hot here, plan accordingly. We’re from Florida and it was as hot here and wasn’t breezy this visit.

Half of the slides were closed. It sucked because we only had two days. Nobody gave any explanation as to why they were closed. Also, the food is terrible and yet expensive. Stick with cheap shacks. Burgers and dogs. Service is awful. They dont care.
