The hotel needs major improvement- public area looks good, functional and clean. However rooms are outdated and poorly designed. What’s great is the room is always clean - good job housekeeping, that would be only positive highlight. Staff - very disappointing. Arrogant, not understanding basics of service. Rude. Hotel is tired, overpriced. Beautiful beach - but all beds are broken, dirty, missing parts. Towels everywhere, dirty, garbage, mess. Food and beverage - prices from the moon. Best is Nobu - great food as always - service not so good, rather slow. Some great choices in Marina as well at Margaritaville 10 min walk away. Better eat outside. WiFi - disaster - for real, simply doesn’t work! Overall I won’t be staying there next time. Adding: Major pool - closed, lazy river, closed. No water in room - you have to pay. Coffee machine in room - don’t ever try.

We stayed at the Coral in two rooms on the 7th floor and had beautiful rooms overlooking the Royal Towers and the beach. The staff was very friendly and Sandra did a great job of cleaning our room. We loved walking the beach, the lazy river and slides and visiting the predators lagoon and dig. While walking by the stingrays and turtles one morning, Laurianne heard my daughter saying how much she loved turtles. She brought us into the fish hospital and let us hold turtles and starfish. She was kind, patient and informative. Thank you for making our trip!! Atlantis is expensive but we brought a snacks, drinks and a toaster to make our breakfasts and lunches. There are Elkay water fountains around the property, so bring your own water bottles. Stop at Supervalu grocery store on your way from the airport to the resort to stock up on fruit and vegetables. We dined at Virgils (great happy hour drink prices) Murrays, the Marina pizzeria and the Burger Shack for less expensive meals. A memorable family vacation, Thank you Atlantis!

I visited the Coral at Atlantis the 2nd week of July. I traveled with 7 other family members which included 4 adults, 3 13 year olds and a 9 year old. We booked 3 rooms with 2 of them adjoining. Upon arrival the check in process with pretty good. There was no line and the front desk clerk went out of her way to accommodate us. It might have taken 15 minutes max to book all 3 rooms. The rooms were standard but sufficed for the duration of our stay. We had a coffee machine and refrigerator in all rooms. Our view was of the front of hotel and marina. Traveling with children we were very cautious with the new COVID spike and wanted to make sure we remained safe. One thing I can say is that all the staff we encountered at the hotel wore masks at all times. They also went out of their way to make sure all public places were clean and sanitized. I can also say that roughly 95% of hotel guests followed the rules of wearing masks in-doors at all times. The pool / Aqua-adventure could get packed at times and if you didn't go out early and grab chairs, you would not have an idea spot of choice. Traveling with a party of 8 we grabbed our spot at the pool before breakfast and hit the pool right after we ate. The line for the waterslides got long pretty quick. Even a long line the wait was no more than 15 minutes. Food at the resort was descent. Had dinner at Chopstix one night and it was amazing. Shout out to the manager that went out of his way to make sure my birthday dinner was memorable The pizza spot near the marina was excellent and a great alternative for picky kids. Another good option for some great food was to call up Sandra at Sandra Transportation (242-525-9532) and grab some food at Midnight Spot which is located right over the bridge on the water. If you want some real authentic Bahamian food and seafood dishes at a great price then this is it. The other plus for my stay was a great massage and mani/pedi at the spa. Two thumbs up!!! This was our first overseas trip in almost 2 years. The staff at the Atlantis made this trip amazing. It seems like everything went well, EVERYTHING!!!! Upon checking out I had to request to speak to the manager and thank him and the staff for being on top of everything and making our vacation so memorable.

After some hesitation and weighing the risks of travel during covid, we decided to come back to Atlantis. This was our 3rd visit to The Coral and while there were some missing features (see below), there was enough there to keep us happy and entertained. We arrived early since we breezed through the airport process, so we weren't expecting to check in at 11am. We were lucky enough to be checked in by Donaven, who was very kind and took great care of us. Not only did he check us in early, but he gave us an amazing room on 10th floor with beautiful views. It was in a quiet spot, all the way at end of hallway with 2 queen beds and of course a terrace (I believe all the rooms have the small terraces). The room was clean and spacious enough for the four of us. Donaven explained to us what was available or not, where to schedule our required covid test etc, He was very knowledgeable about the $50 daily room credit that came with our reservation, what was included and what was not (the promotion they were running this summer had this daily perk) and I am glad we followed up with him because another front desk staffer told us we lose the daily credit if we do not use it that day (Donaven explained not to worry we will get the full credit at check out applied to our entire stay expenses- do check your bill though because system automatically loses the credit if $50 is not used each day on eligible charges - we had to have it adjusted at check out). What is closed: The Coral pools and lazy river is not open yet unfortunately, neither are the pathways on ground level (by Virgil's). The Predator tunnel is closed indefinitely (you can however walk across rope bridge and check out some sealife). The Starbucks in the Coral was also closed while we were there, there is however the Sun and Ice shop downstairs for coffee/ light fare or the Starbucks in Marina Village across the street. Virgil's is also closed (this is where the covid tests are administered). As far as rides in the waterpark, they publish a weekly schedule, listing am and pm rides but we found it unreliable. We found the Leap of Faith and Serpent to be open all day, while the Power Tower rides were not at all or partially open during our stay. The rapids were open and very popular with our family and whatever rides were open kept us content and entertained. The Dig is open (minus the hands on portion) and it's pretty much as we remember it. We love walking through and looking at the sealife, very peaceful at the end of the day. We found the sealife to be plentiful right offshore too, bring your snorkel as there are plenty of fish and even some sea turtles right off shore. We did the Flying Cloud day trip for snorkeling but actually found better snorkeling right off Paradise Beach (the one in front of Cove/Reef). Do not miss the sunsets on this beach too! Food/Drink: Yes drinks can be pricey but the food was not outrageous. We ate at Chop Stix and Carmines a couple of times (loved the Chop Stix staff entertaining us with beautiful drumming during dinner). Try to make reservation at least a few days in advance. Marina Pizzeria was just ok (pizza was too doughy). We tried a few of the poolside restaurants/shacks for lunch, liked Breakwater's best followed by Shark Bites. There is a Starbucks by Mayan Temple for that afternoon pick me up too! Overall a great trip (minus the covid fears and mask wearing but totally worth it in the end), we will definitely be back for a 4th time!

Atlantis is fantastic. Lots of fun, joys, smiles. However, if you are unlucky and need medical attention or have an emergency, you will be in real trouble. (1) Medical care: I needed to buy remedy for my mom and the hotel's 3rd party service charged almost $200 for a prescription. A simple prescription for what I said I needed to my mom. They didn't even go to see my mom; they just made a prescription for what I needed. The next day I returned and said I had forgotten one remedy on the prescription. The attendant laughed and said I would need to pay the same amount again since it would be another prescription. Later I learned that, in the city, we got the same prescription for less than $50. Unbelievable the service offered by the hotel to take advantage of guests in times of medical need. (2) Emergency: Three days after, my mother felt shortness of breath, during the night. I called the hotel's Emergency Room and described the emergency, asking please for medical attention or oxygen. The attendant asked my mother's name, age, weight, date of birth. She said she would check because she didn't know what to do in an emergency. Luckily, we ran with my mother to the hospital in town, she needed to be intubated and, thanks God, she recovered after a week. Twenty minutes after I was at the hospital, the hotel attendant returned to my room and told my wife that we had better go to the hospital as the hotel had no one to help at this time. Finally, to end the trip, the hotel made a Covid test on us and my brother tested positive. In this case, he would not be able to continue his trip back to Brazil. The hotel asked him to be immediately confined to his room and said the test would be repeated. To retake the exam in the room, the hotel charged US$250 + the cost of the exam. The amount of US$250 is just for the attendant to take the elevator from the ground floor to the 6th floor. When I complained about the amount charged, the hotel attendant laughed and said that was the amount. Obviously, the first result was wrong and the 2nd test was negative, as well as others collected in the following 2 days, already in Brazil. The image I have of the hotel is this: great for fun, a disaster in moments of medical need, a tragedy in cases of emergency.
