My family and I stayed at the Royal for 7 nights in July 2021. We had a great experience and loved it. - The Royal is the main hub of the Atlantis hotels so it is busy, has the casino inside, restaurants, easy access to the pools and water slides, aquarium, and the marina. It is great for families as there is a lot going on and a lot to do. Many people who stayed at the other hotels would come over to the Royal to use the amenities. - There are free shuttles between the Atlantis hotels and other locations on Paradise Island. These arrive every 10 or so minutes and pull up in front of the hotels. Easy way to quickly see the other hotels. - There is a shuttle to take you to The Ocean Club, you'll have to ask the concierge as these do not have a scheduled route. This resort is beautiful!! It is definitely a pricier location, we went for lunch and just to walk the grounds. Great view, great vibe, great food, and wonderful service. - If you are wanting to eat at one of the restaurants in the Royal/in the marina, make reservations weeks before you arrive! These restaurants fill up and do not let people in who do not have reservations. If you do not make reservations you will spend a long time looking for food. There is a pizza place (Marina Pizzeria) in the marina that you can grab a pizza without reservations, great pizza and is an easy one to plan on the night you arrive. There is also a restaurant at The Harborside Resort (called The Point) which does not require reservations and has good food (you can take a free shuttle here). - Do not go to the Burger Shack! We tried to eat here as they do not require reservations and this was our first night we arrived so we weren't sure how everything worked. The service was terrible, the staff were very rude, we got sat at a table but then never received menus and when asked we got the run around. We ended up leaving and went to the pizza place. - We had reservations and ate at Carmines, Frankies Gone Bananas, Olives, and The Seafire Steakhouse. Our favorite was Olives but they were all good and offer a variety of food. - The water park is fun for both kids and adults. You'll have lines for some of the rides but they move pretty quickly. When we were there only one day a week was there a cruise ship in Nassau for the day. The cruise ship travelers can purchase day passes to the water park so that definitely increased the number of people/wait times. This would be a good day to do other excursions and such. There are photographers around who will take your pictures and give you a wrist band which you can then take to the photo booth to review/print/purchase your photos. If you are going to be there for a few days and want a lot of pictures I would ask about the option to purchase the thumb drive for $140. Once you purchase this drive every time you get another picture taken they can add this picture to your thumb drive, no extra cost. Otherwise you're having to print individual pictures for about $30 each. Then you can just download these pictures and print them at home. - Cabanas. I initially reserved a cabana at the Bath Colonnades. Once there these looked more like tents, and while this area is more quiet and calm, we wanted to be more in the action. So I switched our cabana to the Mayan cabanas (additional charge but I was okay with that). The Mayan cabanas are very nice, near the pool, not too far from the beach, and are a great way to relax. We had great service and really enjoyed it. Mayan cabanas 27 & 28 are a bit smaller than the others. We had 5 people and were fine with #28, but I'd say if you have more than 5 to get one of the bigger ones (they have a larger deck and additional lounge chairs). 28 is on the end which was nice as we got a breeze and didn't have people on both sides of us. - My son, who is 9, did the Jr. Trainer for a Day. He had a great time and loved it. During this time I got a massage at the Mandara Spa which was wonderful. We also did an excursion with Pieces of 8, highly recommend. These were all fun and worth it! - On your way to the hotel ask your driver if they can stop at a grocery store. Stock up on snacks and drinks for your room. Food is expensive and I would say I saved a lot by having snacks in our room. Every morning my son ate bagels and fruit in our room, which saved a lot. - We were in the Bahamas the last week of July and mask mandates/safety measures are very much in place. When in doors masks must be worn and you'll be asked to put yours on if you are not wearing one. At restaurants/stores you are asked to sanitize your hands immediately. At the food locations around the pool/starbucks/the booth to get your wrist band for the water slides you need masks on. Basically, just always have a mask with you. - Make sure you have your Bahamas health visa completed and make your COVID test appointment to get back in the US. The test was easy and the process was fast and efficient and they do it on site in The Royal. You get 2 free COVID tests per room. Overall, we had an amazing time and will definitely be back!

Hotel's Favourite
We went with a group of 10 and can't say enough good things about our experience! Our room was on the 23rd floor in the tower where the rooms had been updated and we were ocean facing. It had an empty mini-fridge so that we could put our own drinks in there. This was our first visit and staying in the royal kept us central to everything. There is a lot of walking but at every turn and step there was something fascinating to see. The beaches were great. You had your choice of the main beach or the cove beach. Yes you can still sit on the cove beach you just can not use their private pool unless you are staying there. We moved pools each day as well just to try out all of them. Every employee we met at Atlantis was incredibly happy and friendly. We were there the first week of February 2020 and there were no lines that we had to wait in. Some of the check out's take a while because if you use your room card there are multiple lines to complete and it just keeps the line moving slower. While it is expensive the food everywhere we ate was really great. We ate at higher end restaurants and some of the grab and go places as well and it was good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We went with a group and the staff went above and beyond. There is a full aquatic in the lower floor and the outside has different pools with many different kinds of fish. Hotel was so clean and in beautiful shape. The hotel did amazing making sure everyone was Covid free. They took your temperature when you entered the hotel, made sure everyone wore masks and had sanitizer everywhere. The hotel also had it’s own Covid testing area right there in the hotel for re-entry back to the U.S.

Stayed at the Royal Atlantis for three nights and had a great trip. Standard Harborview room which was perfectly fine, although no balcony. A balcony would be nice but probably a lot more expensive. Resort was pretty busy, although for the most part people wore masks in public indoor areas. Loved the beach at sunrise (the water was beautifully warm) and the grotto pool. be warned, unless you put a towel on a chair earlier in the day it can be hard to get a spot later on. I would like to see some system of removing towels when chairs have not been occupied for a certain period to solve this problem. There are many pools, some more suited to adults and some for children so you figure out what works best for you . Ate at Olives - highly recommend - for breakfast lunch or dinner. Food was very good quality, the views of the marina and yachts was spectacular and the staff friendly and service prompt. Also ate at the Chinese restaurant in the Coral (pretty good) and the pizzeria in the Marina (good too, but long queue to order). The Starbucks in the pool area had very reasonably priced coffee and delicious pastries if you just want a quick breakfast . Also highly recommend the Moon bar in the casino area for $9 (?) happy hour cocktails 5-7pm. If you plan on doing a lot of walking between the water rides during the day, suggest bringing water shoes as the pavement can get very hot.

We stayed at the Royal Towers for 2 nights in mid July. We had the privledge of interacting with Nicholas at the front desk. He welcomed us warmly and quickly checked us in. Even though I mentioned that I booked on a third party site, I told him I was a Marriott Bonvoy member. I don't know whether this prompted him to offer an upgrade or not but he put us in an amazing suite with a balcony! The grounds of this hotel are truly magical as well. We are a couple mid 60s-70s and we had a blast going down the Lazy river and all the water slides including the Leap of Faith. We felt like little kids. We ate at Carmine's, Murrays Deli and the Pizza place in Marina Village. The beach was beautiful and spent some time there. I don't think that resort was at full capacity, so that was nice for us. We thoroughly enjoyed walking the whole resort to see the whimsical Lost City theme carried out to perfection! It's a bit pricey but for the time we had, I will be coming back with the rest of our family sometime in the future! Again thanks to Nicholas at the front desk, I came back to thank him but never connected with him!
