Chef and I spent a week at Atlantis - Harborside Resort. I would do it again in a heartbeat. The pros definitely outweighed the cons which were so miniscule it didn't bother me but as always, my reviews are fair and honest., so here goes. . The minute we drove over the bridge in our taxi, I was happy to have chosen this route instead of the hotel. I just loved the island vibes of the resort. I knew ahead of time, that our room would have a full kitchen, so we stopped at the grocery store for supplies on our way from the airport. NOTE: This is an additional charge from the Taxi service but they are accommodating. . CHECK IN: I can't say enough about the friendliness and willingness of the Staff to help us. NOTE: The resort is not accepting Cash as a form of payment. Once we were checked in, they also had us schedule a Covid Test appointment for your return to the US. Our room was ready and was allowed early check in (so thankful), unpacked our groceries, luggage and headed to the pool area. No need to explore after a flight. . TIP: We travelled with a collapsible cooler bag to pack drinks and snacks to take to pool. NOTE: Ice machine in refrigerator needs to be turned on. . I've seen the other reviews about "needing upgrading". I agree but for the most part on an island resort, it is not run down by any means. The ground staff was there grooming the landscape. Our room #3765 was clean, no peeling paint, new working appliances, clean sheets, well stocked cupboard with plates, glassware, pots, cutlery, washer/dryer, iron etc. I honesty was very happy. . Pool area was clean and sparse. It was a quiet week and with Covid-19 restrictions a lot less lounges, which made our visit even that better. NOTE: they didn't have pool side service. It didn't affect us, since we had our cooler but I overheard other guests commenting that they wish someone cam around to offer beverages. . The Point Restaurant - I will review this separately but BIG NOTE: they have $5 Happy Hour drinks from 5-7pm. How is it I knew this and no one else did. The drinks are delicious and not watered down, so "You're Welcome" LOL . Staying at Harborside, you have access to all of Atlantis, you simply need to obtain a bracelet from the Pool House. You can wear it all week or get one each day (during the busy times, there may be a line). TIP: while getting bracelets, we also grabbed towels to take with us, so we don't have to line up again where ever we went. . WIFI: There is complimentary wifi at the check in lobby but other that that you need to pay either daily or per week. Cost at this time was $25 per day, with up to 4 devices. . GETTING AROUND: They have a shuttle to take you around Atlantis. I overheard other guests commenting that this was a negative as opposed to staying at the main hotel. I found it the opposite and loved being away from it all. Literally, you are able to enjoy all of the amenities but i digress. The shuttle worked for us. Easy hop on, hop off situation. NOTE: We did have to wear masks during at this time. The Village Marina is within walking distance. Shopping, restaurants, views of the amazing yachts at the marina. Margaritaville is literally steps from the resort gate. NOTE: The island is currently under a 9pm curfew, so restaurants want you out by 8-8:30pm. Atlantis is not bound by the curfew, so you can eat later at the resort restaurants. . There isn't room service due to Covid-19 but they did drop off clean towels mid week. You were able to leave your garbage and dirty towels by the door for pickup. . I honestly had such a wonderful experience. I can't wait to return. THANK YOU

Just got home from 5 night stay at Harborside with 2 adults and 2 16-year-olds. I've stayed here 2 other times and it needs some serious updating. We had a 2-bedroom which was perfect for us, but the weirdest thing was that there were no blankets on the beds. I called down to get some and they were very thin and scratchy. The location to me was perfect, although it is a 1/2 mile walk to the marina shopping area and the main buildings of Atlantis. I liked the idea that we could get away from the craziness when we wanted to. The pool on-site is nice and large, but the play apparatus in the pool is dated and broken. The restaurant, the Point, was very good but it wasn't until we saw someone else eating a grilled cheese sandwich that they told us there were other options other than what was on the menu. We just wanted something quick and lite. I also found the staff to be standoffish and not very warm and friendly. We had to say "good morning" first before anyone said anything to us. It seemed that they couldn't be bothered. I found this to be at most of the resort, not just Harborside. A quick thing to note is that across the street out of the complex is a little mall. Although it was rundown, they had a Dunkin that we went to most mornings for breakfast and coffee (a lot cheaper than the resort). There is also a convenience store there where you can get snacks and bottled water. The only bottled water available at Harborside was in a glass bottle and it was $12. We had a great stay and enjoyed all of the amenities. I just think it could use some updating and TLC.

We stayed for a week here last week. We rented through redweek and the owner was flexible and helpful after rescheduling 4 times because of COVID. We arrived at 3, but had to wait till 3.40 for room to be ready… we had a nice unit in building 5 overlooking water. The perks of this resort: 1- It will save you a bundle, we paid just under 3G’s for a 2 bedroom- the 2bedroom at the Royal and reef go from 12 to 17grand. So if you want: space, washer/dryer and full kitchen, this really is for you.. 2- the pool was nice at the end of the day away from the crowds of the main hotels and you had access to the point for food and and a bar. 3- the full kitchen. When they say food is expensive, this is a understatement. Triple every price (while adding 27% to EVERYTHING) bring as much food as you can for any meal possible. Bring liquor to have in room.. you will save thousands. This is one reason we would not return here.. we would pick a all-inclusive. We could stay 3 weeks in mexico in our fav upscale hotel for the price of one week here. It’s crazy. Then you get your bill at the end of the week and they another 27% to the already taxed meals and drinks! What??? The not so great, that they COULD address snd make this place: Remove that final tax- we were already taxed for gods sake. They treat this resort like the red headed stepchild and I don’t get why- they build condos, it’s part of the mega resort, why treat it differently? Oh year, because people who stay here are saving a bundle- not a great business model if you want people to return. The shuttles run a little slower then the other main shuttles, frustrating when you are tired and just want to get back to the room.. they have far less for this resort. You can’t get room service here- You don’t have access to any food plans here- Again, if they wanted to peoples to return, don’t treat this resort differently. No free COVID tests for this resort, again why? If they built some kind of bridge to the royal across the water- it would be GOLD! Your feet will hurt by the end of the week, use the shuttle. Go the cove to snorkle in the am, Lower some of the prices for the activities- not sure how any family afforded them! Goodness, worse then disney. If we returned, we would opt for all-inclusive, the price for food here is price gouging at its finest. We have visited other islands and DO NOT have this issue. We also would mot return until everything is open, did put a damper on things not being able to utilize everything. Hope they can address this issue for folks. Lastly, Wifi. Again they treat this resort differently, why???? Then charge a fee, goodness. The travel pass is a joke, less then 1:2 a gig for 4 people fizzled quickly. We were charged 175$ for a week!!!!!!! Highway robbery. You get booted and dropped and it sucks. Do not expect to get any work done here. This is totally fixable and they do nothing. Shady. You could hear everyone complaining. They don’t care. So you will save some $ staying here, but you will pay dearly on some areas… weigh yourself options.

My husband and I came here for vacation, and was disappointed with our experience. The room had an overwhelming smell of bleach, which made us feel the room was clean, but it lingered for a few days. The staff was rude, and acted as if they did not want us there. They had frowns on their face, looked miserable, and would snap at you if you did not respond to them immediately. At times it was tough to hear due to the masks, and we apologized if we did not hear them the first time. We came across maybe one or two people a day who were pleasant. You would think after a tough couple years in the tourism industry, they would be happy to see our business. If we said hello or thank you to anyone, they did not acknowledge us. We see the commercials of the Bahamian people being cheerful, welcoming, and fun, however, we did not experience this once. The only restaurant on the property was connected to the pool and the staff was not friendly at all. They never once came by to ask us how our food was, if we wanted anything more, a refill, or had any questions. The food was extremely pricy, and gratuity is added to everything, including a to-go drink. We understood the need to add gratuity automatically; we just wish the service matched the price we were paying. The pool was warm, which was refreshing, and there was enough space for everyone to spread out. We spent each day at the pool for a couple hours, since traveling to the main resort took more planning. Unfortunately, the lockers at The Royal were not available due to COVID, so we could not take any belonging, and had to carry our key card on us, and wear our clothes in each water activity. You would assume that they would have an alternative, since people carry their personal items and want to place their coverups somewhere upon arrival. We are not sure if we would stay here again or recommend it to a friend or family member. But were glad to have had the opportunity to try it.

We just recently stayed at the Harborside Resort at Atlantis. We had a 2 bedroom villa we rented from redweek.com. I like the locaiton, it's away from some of the craziness at Atlantis but close enough when you want to go. We stayed in Building 5 Room 1768 - one of the closer buildings to the pool. Pool was nice and relaxing as compared to over by the other resorts. Room was a little dated and had some issues but everything was taken care of quickly. I thought we'd be able to walk everywhere but you do a lot of walking so take the shuttle when you can. Most shuttles came within 5-10 minutes. Some took longer and some were there right away. People were great. 95% of the workers were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Harborside. Transportation - took Sandra's Transportation to and from airport - they were great. Recommend asking for a stop at the grocery store and liquor store - very helpful. Buy lots of water at the grocery store. Water on Atlantis is $5 for small and $11 for large. And bring insulated bottles from home and a cooler bag to keep cold while at the pool, beach or waterpark. Food on Atlantis is expensive but most meals were good. *Burger Shack (@Marina)- was good and a decent price. I had a Bohamian Chicken Sandwich - messy but very good. * Snack Bars at Aquatopia - reasonable prices considering where you are. Sandwiches/burgers about $10-12 and everything for the most part was good. Dole Whip was $4 - that was a nice treat. Alcohol is expensive everywhere - frozen drink is a minimum of $16. * The Pointe (Bar/Restaurant by Harborside Pool) - didn't love it - coconut shrimp and chicken tenders were not good. Family liked the flatbread pizzas there. * Ben and Jerry's (Marina) - Expensive but it's good *Olives - (@casino) - pricey but good. Must make a reservation. Had Pork Chops and Salmon - both good. * Poseidon (@The Royal) - very expensive buffett but the kids really liked it. * Pizza (@Marina) - crazy expensive - tasted like pizza hut. $86 for 2 pizzas. That's not a typo. But considering per person, cheaper than most other things for the 5 of us. We ate that for 2 meals. * Murray's Deli (@Marina) - excellent meal, reasonable price. Air conditioned location looks like a diner. All sandwiches were good. Rico our server was the best. *Ice Cream shop at the Coral - I think it was called Sun and Ice? Ice cream/gelatto was the best. Definitely try it there. Attractions *Aquaadventure Water Park - First day you have to wait in a long line to get the wristbands but after that you can get them at the towel hut in Harborside. Found some chairs near the main pool by the Mayan temple which was a good location for water slides. Most slides were open. Lots of fun. Kids and adults all liked it. My favorite was the rapid river. Took about 30-40 minutes about to go all the way around. That was my favorite. Start at the beginning to make it easier to get a tube. *Downtown - took a cab to the Pirate Museum - it took about 30-40 minutes to walk through but everyone liked it. Then we did some shopping and ate at Sharkeeze near the cruise ships. Food was good there - burgers, conch fritters, etc. * Joker's Wild - comedy club was good. $28 each was reasonable and the last comic was hysterical. It was a nice date night for me and the wife. * Beach - went by the Coral one day - there are some small waves there. Then went by the Reef in a little inlet area - no waves but nice to just sit in the blue water. Excellent. Overall, an excellent vacation at Atlantis. Just expect to pay a lot of money for everything. Most food places add a 15% gratuity and 12% tax. We brought a lot of snacks from home. That combined with the grocery trip made it a little better for us.
