This four seasons has seen its day. It’s worn and tired and needs updating. Service is not up to four seasons standards. Food was incredibly expensive and just average. We fell in love with dune when we first came 20 years ago. It was not the same this time. Small portions, big prices. We left hungry after dinner. We had to ask for our food multiple times. The rooms need updating. Has not been updated in 20 years. Tennis courts were sad. The gym was lame. The rooms were just dated. For the rates, it doesn’t match the quality. We have stayed in many four seasons but this one needs to be redone and management needs to get better training for their employees. The grounds are beautiful and the beach is beautiful. The way the hotel sits, they have the ability to knock it out of the park. Incredible water. Beautiful sand. There were a few amazing employees. Shacarra was outstanding with the front desk. Helped us arrange our stay. And make adjustments as we went. She went out of her way to help us. Selena was the most delightful employee I have ever come in contact with at a hotel. She lifted our spirits and encouraged us and just spoke life over us as she rubbed our feet by the pool. We felt like we got a life coaching session and left so inspired. This lady is such a blessing. I hope every guest gets time with this special woman. And we had to wait in a mosquito infested hallway for 56 minutes to get a covid test. It was very frustrating.

Hotel's Favourite
The Ocean Club is the ultimate luxury beach experience. The accommodations, staff, atmosphere, and dining are first class. They go out of their way to make sure all your needs are met, and always with a smiling face. The beach and pools are fantastic. We also enjoyed the fitness center, biking, and challenging golf course with gorgeous views. We can't wait to return!

For context, we have visited 20 four seasons resorts globally… we love the brand and rate the fantastic service that they pride themselves on. We’ve put lots of detail below in case in helps but to summarise our stay here I would say that the property itself is a lovely spot, great views, nice and small compared to many in the Bahamas and feels like a chilled, calm oasis for some time in the sun. On the flip side, prices are eye wateringly expensive (50% above Maldives as an indication) and there’s a constant feeling of being upsold which we didn’t like. The service is hit and miss which is the first time we’ve experienced this at a 4S property and on resort dining options are limited. Kids club was the worst we’ve experienced at a 4S… management are also less visible than is typical with 4S. Detail below in case you’re interested… I think this resort suits American travellers, without children, looking for a chilled stay where you’d largely stay on resort and you’d go for under a week… and you’re prepared for high prices...! it is a lovely spot, and very relaxing. We hope the detail helps, happy travels!! Location Great in terms of proximity to airport (30 mins). They have created an oasis on an otherwise busy island. Waters aren’t as spectacular as other parts of Bahamas but overall it feels relaxed, intimate and well kept. Small property which makes it feel really safe and calm, colonial traditional vibe. Facilities Only one restaurant for dinner which was tough on a stay of over a week. Lobby area is nice….The decor everywhere is quite classic but livened up by some cool art. Layout is older (for eg spa doesn’t relate to the ocean, kids club tucked far away) but it is all maintained well and still comes across as a very pleasant place to be. The beach is under utilised and under serviced. The kids pool was closed throughout our stay - No one told us on booking or check in unfortunately and we constantly got told it would open the following day (for 8 days) which got a bit tedious. When we complained no one followed up. The adult pool was unstaffed excluding a life guard so you couldn’t get drinks/towels etc so no one used this… It meant everyone was centred on the pool by the sea which ended up pretty busy which was ironic for an off peak month. There’s a sociable atmosphere (loungers close together, people chat) which will either appeal or not… Food and drink Breakfast is fine, currently all ordered a la carte…we often had forgotten items, in fact every breakfast something was missing. The classic breakfast costs 95$ per person. As mentioned, one restaurant in the evening… standard types of food, nothing particularly exciting. I felt they needed a more chilled option to liven it all up. There’s a pool side restaurant at lunchtime, if they kept that open with a bbq menu or something in the evenings that would really help. The kids menu is ludicrously expensive (one of the favourite topics of convo between guests by the pool!). Some items were 35$plus the 27% service and tax. They lacked any fun/different things going on with food and bevs. For eg in the Maldives the managers cocktails on the beach with food stations, or in Dubai the weekend brunches are fun… it’s just all pretty unimaginative. The bar staff were good and there’s often a singer (again hit and miss). Angel was by far the best. Service Firstly - management is so much less visible than any 4S property we’ve been to. In most 4S you get a daily check in by someone from the team eg the f&b manager goes around the diners checking on things during meals… none of this. Several people actually said it all feel rather arrogant (and unjustifiably so). When we complained about something no one ever came and followed up which we were told would happen… I’m really not a complainer so wouldn’t have done so without a valid reason and we were really surprised never to hear anything when spending 3k a night. We regularly had to call to ask for rooms to be cleaned after lunch when no one had come, orders were often wrong, bills wrong regularly (do check)… the activity schedule we were given on check in (which is v limited btw) was incorrect… for eg we checked in on a Thursday and went to the advertised pilates on the Friday morning which wasn’t on. More importantly, the general vibe is that the staff are doing you a massive favour… My son got told off for pressing the poolside buzzer to order by the pool on day one (he apparently pressed the buzzer for the table next to us, not ours and this warranted someone coming to give us a chat) so from then on we felt we should walk over to the bar to order… you walk over and staff are either missing (happened a lot pre 11)/talking in a group/on their phone and you have to apologise and ask for something… not ideal! Some people were tipping cash above the 15% being added and this led to two levels of service at the pool. It was almost funny, the lifeguard gets in the pool to play with the tipping family, other kids try to join in and she’s not interested. Again, lots of people chatting about this on resort. We have preferred staying in resorts which say either no tipping on top of the service charge/ask you to do so at the end if you want to…. As mentioned above, there’s also an up selling vibe which feels really inappropriate at a high end hotel. To give an eg, we shared a spa treatment as a couple and whilst lying there there on the beds the therapist started ‘suggesting’ add ons… ‘let’s use hot stones and wax, small extra charge, that ok?’ Obviously you feel uncomfortable saying no, so it makes the whole thing feel less relaxing and you’re then signed up for something you have no idea of the cost of. Our 80 min couples massage ended up at c900$ with these extras when we signed up at c500. Just so you don’t think it’s all cost based, we do a weekly massage in central London and love treatments (this one included) but the concept of being upsold naked without pricing info felt like a hussle and really detracted from what would have been a lovely experience… I cancelled our other treatments that I had prebooked and I left feedback explaining how uncomfortable we had felt about the whole thing, but, again, I never heard anything further. It was a shame to leave it feeling so negatively as the actual treatment was great, just a friendly word from management would make all the difference in these situations. Family/kids Adjoining rooms work well, space feels safe and attitude to kids is reasonably positive (though they try and force you inside every evening at the restaurant which my husband hated!).The ocean view rooms are really near the pool which was great as children could go in and out. The kids club is a real let down compared to others we’ve used with 4S though. Every time we went in, the lady working there was sitting on her phone whilst the kids played video games. There was a very basic schedule of activities that didn’t actually seem to ever happen in practice... When we arrived one day just before 4.30, we were shooed away and told they were closing (meant to close at 5 and we had just hoped to settle them in for :0 mins). It’s at the far corner of the resort too which is a shame. Our two children did two 1h sessions then didn’t want to go back. We’ve had such amazing experiences before with 4S kids for all seasons… the boys have done sushi making in the kitchens, photo safaris around resorts, fish feeding, coral reef preservation, crab racing… really cool and creative activities which added to their trip. If you’ve had similar experiences then please know this club isn’t at all like this. From our experience it is indoors and gaming focused. Again rather unimaginative and leadership. I hope this has given a bit more of a flavour of our experiences here. We’ve loved Laanda, k h, Dubai, Egypt, Anguilla, south of France and the new Greek property to give an idea of our resort experiences of 4s…We are incredibly happy to pay for a fantastic experience/service/food… this doesn’t quite hit that mark tbh. It’s lacking active management, the food could do with an overhaul and the service needs addressing… still a beautiful spot, but you could spend your money better elsewhere I think. I really hope you enjoy if you do go! Happy happy holidays!! Xxx

Our stay here was fantastic. The double queen ocean view room we had was beautiful. The restaurants were great, as was the beach and pool. The fantastic staff really made the stay amazing, there were all so lovely. We did a day boat tour with AqauShores which I highly recommend, it was our favourite day of the trip and was suggested by the hotel. The restaurants the the hotel recommend outside the resort were a bit hit and miss, I think a few have gone downhill since covid, ask the concierge if they've been recently if they recommend somewhere. The hotel has free access the the Atlantis resort which has aquariums and waterparks. I don't recommend going unless maybe if you have small children.

We just returned from 5 days at the Four Seasons Bahamas, Ocean Club and cannot say enough good things about the property, the Staff and the exceptional services. It is a 5 star property in every respect and has quickly become our favorite resort destination. We love the small, boutique feel of the property with gorgeous oceanfront rooms, a stunning pool overlooking the ocean, a beach with spectacular, super fine white sand and the best beach bar we have ever been too. The Staff is incredibly attentive, friendly, helpful, 100% service oriented and truly embrace and understand the meaning of hospitality. Lovely people all around. With the Delta variant surging, we were understandably a bit concerned about traveling overseas during COVID, but once we arrived on property, our concerns were immediately put at ease. The Four Seasons has implemented all safety protocols and we felt 100% safe and comfortable. The resort is a really a perfect place to go during COVID because of the small nature of the property and it is so easy to be spread out and not in close contact with lots of people. The Staff wore masks at all times and masks were required indoors. Many Staff members volunteered that they had been vaccinated and from our conversations we understood that vaccination rates in the Bahamas are going up significantly now that Pfizer and J&J are available as of August in the Bahamas. The Four Seasons made it incredibly easy to get tested for our return trip back to the US and we had our results of our antigen test in less than an hour. I think it is the only COVID testing site with an ocean front view :). The Four Seasons Bahamas, Ocean Club is truly a special place and we can't wait to return!
