My friends and I stayed at Toby's for a few nights before we flew home, the food in the restaurant wasn't too nice, the staff were friendly, the rooms are pretty basic but clean, our shower didn't work for the duration of our stay so we were offered a refund of 1 night which we were happy with.

I am solo female traveler in my 20's. This was my 3rd time to Jamaica. Normally I got to Ocho Rios but this time I stayed in Negril for 2 days (at Country Country Beach Cottages) and in Mo Bay at Toby's for 2 days. I used Clives Transportaion to travel between the 2 areas, $18 each way. After coming from Negril I was a bit disappointed by MoBay. Was not as nice and relaxing as Negril. Toby's was fine considering the price. The staff was very nice, the rooms were clean and the location was convenient. The best things about MoBay were Doctor's Cave Beach and Pier 1 Restaurant. I would probably not go back there for vacation when there are other areas in Jamaica that are much nicer.

Quiet place near the hip strip, the beach is really close and it's affordable. If you're looking to visit Jamaica and relax, this is the place. Not a 5 stars, but it's clean and the staff is nice.

We stayed at Tobys twice, on both occasions one night when passing through Montego Bay. The first time we had a standard room, which was pretty basic so I asked for a better room the second time and this was much better. However, I think calling this place a "resort" is going a bit far. I wouldn´t want to spend too much time there. They advertise 2 pools, one with waterfall. The waterfall was not working on either of our visits. The food on our first visit was awful, so we went elsewhere the second time. Don´t get too excited about the "hip strip" it isn´t very hip! However, Toby´s is close to the airport, which makes it very convenient.

We stayed at Toby's Resort for six nights and had an excellent time from the moment we checked in! I must say that I wasn't expecting anything grand, but it was either Toby's or the Gloustershire, and after reading reviews for that hotel, I couldn't bring myself to stay there. The room we stayed in was pretty small, but we were never there to begin with! We had 2 twin beds, a bathroom, and a balcony (although we were on the 1st floor). We received clean towels each day, and our rooms were cleaned spotless-on one occassion, I accidently left money out and when we returned everything was still there. We especially enjoyed the service here-the people working at this hotel were so nice. I traveled with my best friend (2 young girls in our early 20s) and we both like to party,

If you are looking for a clean room at a great location for a good price in 'MoBay,' then Toby's is a wonderful choice. Just a few steps from a public beach and 2 blocks from (~5 min walk) for Doctor's Cove beach and Margaritaville, Toby's is close enough to all the action, yet far enough to get a quiet nights (or mornings) rest. TIP: There are a few public beaches in MoBay, however, if you don't want to be hassled by locals asking for money (lots of beggers in Jamaica), then Doctor's Cove beach ($5 US entrance and optional $5 for a beach chair and $5 for an umbrella) is perfect for a quiet afternoon of sunbathing

Toby's Resort looks a little run down from the pictures and the front gate, but once inside it's a quiet and delightful get away. This isn't your standard cookie cutter coporate fortress resort, and I couldn't have been happier about it. They have two pools, both nice and clean, the rooms are a good size with powerful AC units and a porch. There's a great deal of large palm trees and breadfruit trees, which attract birds, and lizards, and other wildlife. One morning sitting outside at breakfast we saw a hummingbird hovering around the flowers. We also saw several Dr. Birds, and my girlfriend had a blue-eyed blackbird come and sit next to hear on the porch. Just a few minutes walk up the road is Doctor's Cave Beach, a beautiful beach that's $5 to enter. It's worth it as

We are a young couple (30 & 28) from Chicago who needed a quick getaway from the snow. Expedia had a 4 day, 3 night deal for $499 for flight and hotel that we just couldn't turn down! Though I wouldn't say that Toby's is romantic by any means, we managed to make it a romantic trip :) Everything went smooth at Toby's - no problem with the check in and we were very content with our room. We went to the room which wasn't ready, but immediately, we were directed to another room which was great! King size bed which was very comfortable, clean and basic bathroom. Balcony overlooking the pool. The towels could have been better but I won't complain. AC worked wonderfully and we had SO many TV channels - great for surfing when you are hungover in the morning. =) We didn't even

We stayed at Tobys 24-27 February and the weather was perfect. We ususally stay at all-inclusive, but found it a waste of money - we hardly eat at the hotel. The hotel was comfortable, clean and pretty quiet. Our room was on the street side and not that much noise. The restuarant service and food was good, thanks to the staff. The front desk was very friendly. The only thing that I didn't like was they only gave out one key. Other than that everything was great. Since Tobys in right at the beginning of the hip strip - it was nice to walk to Margarittaville, the shops and shops anytime we wanted to. Great time again in Jamaica - my choice of best places to visit.

Just back from a week's stay at Toby's. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, the grounds were nice. It's a little bit of paradise for a cheap price. They should put up a sign "no nude sunbathing" though. You always have someone who feels the need to expose themselves. Otherwise, very enjoyable stay there. Going again in April.
