A true gift by the sea!
It is with pleasure that I tell the story of this amazing place. Tortuga is small with villas that overlookr the water and sand. Everyone has a golf cart, although most people just enjoy each other and the staff near their Villa. The Bamboo restaurant will cater to all of your savory wants, like a freshly caught whole fish. There are two golf courses near by and easily accessible but for amateurs, we enjoyed Cana. This is our return stay and yes we will be back. We met a wonderful new friend Alejandro from New Mexico last year and the three of us met again this year. By the way, Southwest flies direct from Baltimore. I must mention you are whisked away after landing, like a rock star, and the rest including immigration and bags are handled by a representative. I have saved the best for last - Beddy the bartender, servers as well as the manager Roger, & other concierges and housekeeping staff are a 10 out of 10 ! Our last night, housekeeping filled the jacuzzi in our room with warm water, bubbles and yes rose pedals all around. We will return next year. Who wouldn't ? …

Absolutely Incredible
My wife and I stayed for three nights. The staff pamper you from the moment you arrive until the second you leave. All of the employees, including the gardeners, know what five-star service means. The room was perfect. The food was incredible. The drinks (and bartender) were above the norm. You simply can’t go wrong with this hotel. Only one thing to keep in mind; If you are on a budget, stay elsewhere. This place was not built for the average traveler. It will cost you well above the initial sticker price. It’s not even close to all-inclusive. I mention this because of other reviews I read complaining about costs. True five star service always costs a lot...and this hotel deserves every penny! Thank you to all of the employees who made our stay so perfect. We will be back in a few months!…

A must place to visit
Breathtaking views of the water and surrounding grounds. Elegantly appointed villas, beautifully decorated. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and helpful going out of their way to ensure your visit is amazing. The breakfast included in your reservation is delicious and offers many options. The personal golf cart is a great way to explore the resort. The VIP service at the airport that eliminates “custom lines” is a huge bonus! We plan to return next year and I highly recommend it to others. I don’t think you can find a better managed property

Exceptional Experience!
My husband and I have traveled to a number of beach destinations over the years and our experience at Tortuga Bay was by far the best! From the VIP service from touch down to departure, I can say I have never felt more pampered and relaxed for a vacation. The beach access is tremendous and food exceptional! We loved our time at the resort and experiencing the surrounding venues via golf cart and bicycle!

I am surprised to learn that smoking is permitted in rooms as well as the beach and other public areas. Has anyone who has stayed at this resort found it to be a problem? We are allergic to cigarette smoke and I don't remember the last time I stayed at a resort that allowed this.

Are there a lot of steps? Do steps have railings? I’m fine with steps but I need to “hold on” going up and down.
Hi bobbiej4112, If you are in a first floor you will be fine. There are 3 steps entering the reception or a wheelchair type rail next to these steps. And there is always a doorman there to help. Once you arrive you don’t need to pass by the reception. They will take you directly to your room in a golf cart. You will also be provided a golf cart for your exclusive use during your stay at Tortuga Bay Hotel. If you find there is anything you need once you get here please let your assigned villa Manager know and they will get it for you. Have a great weekend!

How is the beach? Any seaweeds?
Hi FBSJ69, There was some seaweed yesterday. It a Is a day to day situation which varies. We have the barriers 24/7 no matter if there is seaweed or not which helps.
