This is a difficult recommendation to write. The property itself is dead drop beautiful, well-maintained with every amenity possible. The service, however left much to desire. While well-meaning and even sincere, everything from restaurant reservations, to golf, to off-site fishing was always tenuous. For instance, we asked for a 7:15 dinner reservation, only to be called back to change it to 7:45. We decided to go the the bar at the restaurant (Blue) for a cocktail. The restaurant also informed us that they could take us to our table at any time. We took advantage of the offer and were seated, only to get a call from the concierge desk that they needed to push our reservation to 8:15. We had to inform them that we were already seated at our table!!!! We had also reserved a two-bedroom beachfront suite and an additional connecting room for our family of five. We arrived at a beautiful suite, but the only things it "fronted" were the swimming pool terrace and the swimming pool itself. We could barely see the beach. When we asked if they could do anything to improve our view, they responded that as it was the high holiday season, there was nothing they could do. We contacted our travel agent in the states and she was able to directly call the hotel. (I recommend that people use private travel agents. They get you the best prices, the best amenity packages and personal service that continues throughout your trip.). To the hotels credit, they changed our rooms to what I still believe was the best location of the beachfront suites (building #1). Our outdoor terrace (immense) was literally on the beach and we were set up with both loungers and big beds right on the beach that we did not have to worry about reserving each day. The beach front suites are amazing -- huge bathrooms, indoor and outdoor dining areas, immense terraces, huge living rooms and full kitchens. The hight of luxury. Best accommodations we have stayed in recently. Food in the restaurants was fine and we especially enjoyed Mediterraneo. Unfortunately arrangements for golf and deep sea fishing always turned out to be an adventure. Nothing catastrophic, but the little glitches added up. Still, in the long run all things were ironed out and we actually became very friendly with the staff, even those who seemed to be somewhat incompetent. One needs to understand, I guess, that the tourist industry is still in its infancy in Capa Cana.…
yeap, this place had everything that you would want. The nicest part is the private beach. it is a beautiful cove, soft sand, no waves, great pools, great service. Rooms are nice but a little gaudy. But if you like flashy furniture, this is the place. Service was excellent and so was the food. Its a bit out on its own with not much nearby. You get your own golf cart so thats nice. The prices are high.
This is a lovely 5 star property. The rooms are beautiful with ocean views. The staff is helpful although english is a bit limited. There are 3 restaurants on the property, one very fancy, one on the water and Blue the main one where breakfast is served everyday. The beach is is beautiful and plenty of chairs. We just wished there had been some water sports available.
Just completed family holiday vacation at Eden Roc. Truly fabulous gem. Everything is frost rate: Accomodations, food and service. Spectacular beach setting, exquisite restaurants and every staff member is wonderful. Has the look and feel of a small Four Seasons hotel. Will definitely return.
I visited this property with my husband and my then 6 months old. The staff could be more helpful and the facilities for kids and babies were very good. The only thing missing are a bottle warmer and steriliser in the room but other than that they did offer great amenities for our baby that included a cot with beautiful bed linen, a baby bath and a chair. The facilities are great and the kids room is fantastic. We used the nanny service and she was very professional looking after our precious girl with such care and following all our instructions. I loved everything about this place including the food and the staff at all restaurant and at the beach. The spa has just opened and we tried a couples treatment which as lovely. I would like give a special thanks to the following staff who were amazing and looked after us very well: Teury, Carlos, Rafael, Rosi, wilkin , and Maladys. We will definitely be back with or without our little one.…
