The resorts spray for mosquitos so they are not bad at all. If you go near a creek or standing water, I suggest using insect repellent. It is not recommend that pregnant women travel to DR due to Zika virus.

Hi - We have booked a family concierge room at the reserve at punta cana and I have been hearing rumors about people being rebooked and so forth due to construction. Our trip dates are Sept 20 - 29th - will we be affected? Anybody have any recent experience? Right now on the site they are forcing people to book at the palma real.....I'm starting to get worried.

My experience is from January so I can only address the situation then. The Reserve Paradissus Palma Real was better than Grand Reserve because although they connect, the Grand was very quiet while we were there. We wanted to see someone, not a wild crowd, but feel like we were not the only ones around. The food is amazing, make sure you have access to most of the restaurants. I heard that a few were closed. I was just informed that the Reserve Punta Cana will be closed for renovations for the time that we booked. July 17th-24th. I only found out because I called the resort to get some info & the person on the phone passively said the reserve would be closed & that I should email the concierge to find out what to do. I booked this thru Travelocity & they never informed me that the reserve would be closed nor did the hotel. I only booked this place for the reserve. I was not interested in the main hotel. I am so upset.. Did this happen to anyone else & what was the outcome. Did they give you any other options?? Please let me know. Ty

We arrived not long ago to be advised The Reserve was closed due to construction on the neighboring property. Not sure exactly when this happened but it was very recent. We were provided a room at the main Paradisus Punta Cana resort, which at the moment has a quarter of the restaurants open and guest rooms are very dated with no concierge service. Read some of the reviews to understand why. We contacted our travel agent and vacation provider the next day and were moved to another Melia resort.

My hotel stay

We stayed in the hotel from 12/03/2019 to 12/11/2019. Hotel was very nice.Beach was amazing. Tracy from guests care team was very helpful. We recommended the Aqua and Mizu restaurants. Special thanks to the waiter Fidel Rosario from Mizu restaurant. He is a professional. We do not recommended a seafood restaurant. The menu has very few dishes and even no fish.We recommended this resort and hope to come again.

When I went to The Reserve at Paradisus Pinta Cana I was offered so many am duties and extra things with out even asking. They made sure that everything we needed was taken care of. I highly recommend you get Family Concierge if you go with family and if you go with only adults you should get Royal Service. There are little extra things that they do for you if you get these things. They assign people to help you with your every need if you get Family Concierge or Royal Service. The restaurants are exquisite and have very many different types of food. The beaches are beautiful and private only to the resort, you can rent cabanas a and the ocean waters are so turquoise you can all the way to the ocean floor!! I guarantee that if you stay at the Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana you will have a very pleasant and enjoyful stay.…

Do not become a member here. They sell you on all of these exclusive benefits but it’s all a sales pitch they do not deliver on. Very poor service standard, severely declining room and food quality. Not worth all of the annual and trip fees!

Hector arranged our schedule and gave great advice. He also taught me how to use WhatsApp! He did a great job. He helped us navigate the resort plus helped us plan when and where for excursions. He also replied to my concerns and complaints that came up on resort issues. Got it done.
