After reading the last review (jan2021) i had doubts about staying. But now i understand that there are people who complains about trifles, for example, restaurants closed early and there was no bar 24/7 !!! I think these people live in a different world and they don’t realize in the middle of a pandemic and we must take care of ourselves! I stayed two days and the attention was magnificent. The facilities, pool area, beach, restaurants in good condition and clean! I also read complaints because some employees do not speak english !! I speak Spanish and its my native language , i have traveled all over the world and i do not complain because the staff must speak my language! Putting this aside i focus on the hotel : although it is a hotel with a few years the room they assigned me was cozy, clean, large and with a balcony that invited you to relax. The bathroom needs some changes such as the metal accessories that were corroded but this little thing didn’t ruin my stay! …

The worst hotel ever. I would give it 3 starts. Bad experience starts at front desk, where we spent more than 1.5 hours checking in. Room we got was terrible : old and dark, no towels, dust everywhere and definitely didn’t look like hotel pictures showing. We had to pay to upgrade. At the restaurants, they would turn you around if you forgot a mask (later we stayed in another 5 starts hotel and they give you mask if you forgot one). Staff barely spoke English. Service is very slow. You order something in the restaurant and they forget to bring some items, and when you ask for it, the kitchen is already closed and there is no 24/7 food bar as it should be in any 5 starts. Bar/ billiard closing at midnight “due to covid”, although in other hotels that’s not the case. My boyfriend bought me flip flops in the store on the territory of the hotel, he asked if we can return if it doesn’t fit me, they said yes. When flip flops didn’t fit me, they refused to take them back. Again, no one speaks English. Pool was freezing. Sea wheat- no one was cleaning the beach. After this hotel we moved to another 5 starts not far from Catalonia,so I have what to compare to. Stay away from this hotel if you want to enjoy your vacation …

Hotel 5 stars but in my opinion it’s 3 stars. The infrastructures of the hotel are really nice and beautiful with different restaurants and bars... The beach is also really nice. But there are so many negative points: the cleaning of the room is not good like we can expected for hotel 5 stars (the first 3 days, our room was cleaning only at 5pm... we came back from the beach and it was impossible to take shower, also sometimes you have 4 towels, and other days 2 towels....). Finally I had to complain to the manager to get a better service... The people who works for the hotel : 50% are really nice but this other half seems unhappy to work Since we arrived at the hotel, everyday you have so many peoples from the hotel or a company who want to sell you something... we stayed 14 days... at the end it was really annoying... this hotel is just good to sell or to propose you something to pay more... The material in the gym is really old... year 1980/1990. The last day I asked the guest service to have someone to pick up our luggage to leave... after 40 minutes... still nobody... we had to go by ourself.... We payed more for a Romance Room and we had a amazing romantic dinner with a lovely menu. We were a little bit sad to have the same wine as the buffet... However, with all the excursions, we spend great holidays and we enjoyed Dominican Republic ! Honestly I don’t recommend this hotel.. the price is too expensive for the quality in general. …

We booked this as a last minute treat following a very disappointing 2020 (like most people I’m sure). There was plenty of available hotels to choose from in the area but Catalonia ticked all the boxes for our family based on reviews and pictures. How wrong we were. Grumpy staff, terrible food, very average accommodation, poor entertainment. It’s all inclusive and we ate out as much as we could. Never again to this resort.
