Martin Jimenez is the absolute best server!!! We had the best experience with him at Brando’s and will most definitely be returning! The restaurant is gorgeous! The food, sparkling wine, and dessert were all delicious!!! Can’t wait to come back!

This was our second trip to Ziva Cap Cana during the pandemic. Our first trip was last summer during which we felt incredibly comfortable with the resort's handling of the virus situation. We enjoyed peace of mind knowing the staff was doing everything to keep us safe and healthy so we returned again this March. The staff was outstanding on both occasions. Felix our bellman welcomed us along with our butler Leonardo. Andrea efficiently handled our check-in at the Club lounge with a smile. Cesar in the Chinola Restaurant was quick to accommodate any request we made during our stay. While enjoying the pool we were always happy to see Andres at Cocoonz who acknowledged us every day and remembered our preferences. Our stay was absolutely fantastic. We highly recommend it !

Hyatt Zilara made our trip to the Dominican Republic absolutely perfect. Service was impeccable and every worker we encountered was welcoming and helped make our trip amazing. Amado on the entertainment team was so great. My husband played archery on the beach and I took the aqua pole and aqua spin classes which were amazing thanks to Amado! By the pool Jorge and Boni along with every other server we encountered always made sure we had a fresh drink and made us laugh. Our butler Noberto was AMAZiNG he made our trip go smoothly and was full of great surprises. The spa was also a great experience, Juan was amazing. Every restaurant was superb and I have zero complaints. Even the buffet was excellent and Manuel was awesome. The cocktails at the One Eyed Cat may have been my favorite. I cannot say enough great things about our stay. The testing for COVID was well organized and so easy it made the process go great. Hyatt Zilara did a great job handling COVID and they made it so COVID did not negatively impact our ability to have a 5 Star vacation!

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana has set a very high standard for implementing Covid 19 protocol which enhances the vacation experience. The attention to creating a clean and safe resort is consistent without being intrusive. Appreciated the on-site Covid testing that was required for departure. We were familiar with the Zilara brand from a trip to Montego Bay last year, so we were pleased that our travel advisor recommended Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana as the perfect choice for our first international trip since the start of the pandemic. Our suite and all common areas were meticulously maintained. Staff members wore goggles, gloves, and face masks at all times, but greeted us with a hand on their heart at every opportunity. Guests were very respectful of wearing masks and maintaining social distancing throughout the resort, and we felt very comfortable at the pool, beach, spa, and in the restaurants. There's a nice selection of restaurants at Zilara, with the option of also dining at the adjoining Hyatt Zara. The restaurants do not require reservations and they had extended hours for all meal times. Very pleased that the two buffet restaurants have chefs and servers to dish out the food from behind the displays-- we hope this practice continues after the pandemic as it is it minimizes possible food contamination. The fitness center is the perhaps the largest at any resort, and there is a beautiful spa. The open-air lobby is very nice. Arrival and check-in were done very efficiently, with a private area for club-level guests. There was a quick temperature check upon arrival; a disinfectant mat to clean our shoes; and numerous hand sanitizers throughout the resort (a wonderful sanitizing gel with moisturizer!). Our thanks to Gerson, the Concierge Supervisor, who took the time to e-mail restaurant menus in advance of our trip and made sure that all amenities were in our suite when we arrived. We enjoyed the space and comfort (and second full bathroom) of the one-bedroom grand master suite, which had a living room, a room styled like a “home office” with work station, and excellent views of the resort and ocean. The Nespresso supplies and in-room snacks were replenished daily. We would have preferred the jacuzzi inside the suite instead of on the balcony for greater comfort and more privacy. Our attentive butler, Norberto, arranged our housekeeping requests, made our spa appointments, and coordinated Covid testing and check-out. He visited us at the pool to see if anything was needed and surprised us with a wine and cheese platter one evening. Wi-fi signal is excellent and uninterrupted all over the resort (but we would have felt better with a secure password). Special thanks to the team at the Club Level pool, including pool concierge Larisa; server Francesca; and security officer Keitel. This is the best club-level pool of any all-inclusive resort. Perfectly located between the resort building and the beach, with a private hot tub for club level guests. The pool and seating area are spacious, comfortable, and very well-maintained. The beach is wide and clean, with good seating and security and very attentive staff. They have created a very large swimming area, with calm water and ample room for snorkeling and water sports. The best restaurant team is at The Pier, with wonderful manager Luis Miguel assisting with special diet needs and every other detail; a warm greeting from Rosanna whenever we entered; and great service from Carolina at our favorite table. We were disappointed with the steak at Waves, and found better meat offerings at the Navigator or Mercado. Food was a bit cold at Waves and we think a small, hot bread loaf on a cutting board would be a great addition to the meal. Zilara Cap Cana should replicate both the donut shop and the candy/ ice cream shop at Zilara Montego Bay—they are better options for snacks outside of meal times. We did notice that on any night a restaurant was closed, they took the opportunity to conduct cleaning and maintenance for the next day. Linen napkins and silverware were sterilized and served in sealed plastic bags at every meal—a nice touch during the pandemic. For the specialty restaurants, the Italian food was surprisingly good at Noodle and Thread, including the al dente pasta and quality of the sauce and main courses. We opted for a private table at Tempest (the Asian themed restaurant). Food was fresh and tasty and it’s less hectic and noisy than the Hibachi-grill tables. The food at Brando’s was disappointing, where the duck was particularly tough. Brando’s combines their menu with Journeys when that restaurant is closed so there are few different selections. The resort had a show or beach party every evening—the usual offerings at similar resorts (magician, Michael Jackson show, a version of the four tenors, etc.). It was nice that the shows were outdoors with seating well-separated. However, the folding chairs are cheap and very uncomfortable even for just the one-hour show (how about some pads or cushioned backs?). The resort published a daily program, but displayed the next day activities on the TV so we knew the restaurant and show schedule in advance. There is a nice water park located on the grounds outside the adjoining Ziva hotel, which guests traveling with children seemed to enjoy. The spa was in a strange, secluded location near the water park. Exceptionally clean, and they even wiped down the treatment tables and took out clean linens in front of us so we could be assured of Covid protocol. Massage treatments were relaxing and professional. Note, the hydrotherapy area is available but the sauna and steam room are currently closed due to Covid restrictions. It is nice to just walk the grounds after dinner or the show, but they also have light music or a DJ in various spots, and relaxing seating areas around fire pits. We felt the smiles from under the masks of all resort staff, and if we asked anyone for directions they stopped and personally escorted us instead of just pointing. Overall, the staff was warm and professional, and they seemed very happy to gradually welcome guests back to vacation mode. Muchas gracias!
