Great Place to Stay

The staff is amiable and the accommodations clean. The food is excellent. Smaller portions than Americans are used to eating out but just perfect size. Beach and pool area were very nice. The gym area is a little smaller than I expected given the size of the development.

Awesome Resort!

I've enjoyed many Secrets Resorts but this is the first one I've ever thought of returning to one day. The atmosphere is so relaxed and l needed time out from the stresses of work and life so was just looking forward to chilling on the beach, which is gorgeous with it's soft sugary sand which dusts right off and, looks out to the beautiful blue/green ocean. Thought I'd participate in the odd yoga and dance class but thanks to the amazing Entertainment Team, l was even joining in fitness classes by the end! Dark Chocolate is brilliant with his great smile, big personality and energy but big shout-out to Mini Baby too who was also excellent, really funny and engaging. I was conscious l was on my own but he was always encouraging me to get involved, especially with the dancing which l loved. Tony and Jean were also very good. The evening shows with the dancers and other performers were very entertaining. I always had first class service with a smile from Nelson at Barefoot Grill, who always had my table and drink ready, (the lime chicken is delicious!), Jacquelin at breakfast, Manny at Oceana and the beach waiters Santo and Joel. Thank you so much everyone for making such great memories :-) …

First of all I am truly blessed to be able to travel and give a review of the places I have travelled to. I know that travelling to another country has its positives as well as the negatives. As usual i will always start with the positives of my destination because they usually outweigh the negative. After each positive point i will add the flip side if there is one to tell. I have just returned for Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana I booked this trip with Red Tag Vacations as i usually do and i flew with Sunwing Airlines. It was deal of the day that i booked around Black Friday. I think most of the rooms are the same except for the main floor that had access to the lazy river and of course the Privledged side. The transfer from the airport to the hotel was easy and fast. When i arrived at the Hotel i checked in which was fairly easy and there were many who greeted me with Welcome Home. They greeted me with smiles and enthusiam! My room was not ready yet and i was given a welcome drink. I was shown the bathroom and i had my own personal assistant who waited for me and then we went back to the lobby area where i was given my next step the information about the vouchers for spa services as well as vouchers towards other experiences. I already had been to a couple of other AM Resorts and knew the drill. (Secrets Silversands and Breathless). I was tired and i was needed a shower and i explained that i was not really interested in anything for purchasing added extras or any time share which i am sure was going to be the next pitch. I stood my ground that i wanted just to go eat and come back get my room and settle in. It was clear that i was not going to cave in and i was given something to sign (did not give credit card) and a gold paper key and was asked to meet them the next day at breakfast. Honestly i guess i was so tired and just said i might but not thinking they would see me about whatever it was for getting some type of resort cash. I never went but they saw me and remembered that i did not show up….lol so funny! I go away to escape committment! I got to my room which as 5317 was the top floor as i had asked and the room was spotless and had no smell of mold! I quickly settled in and went around the resort hit the beach! The beach was immaculate and the ocean was beautiful and sandy going far out. I go to an island resort for the beach and the ocean and the sun! I don’t really spend time at the pool much. Now i have been to many resorts in Punta Cana, Cuba, Mexico and quite frankly i was shocked that there were the amount of Vendors that were relentless! One after the other and the other it was exhausting and irritating to keep saying no, no gracius. Also there were streams of helicopters one day more than the others but constant noise above one after the other after the other which i found interupted my zen! I guess they were those helicopter tours. There were also many other distractions like tractors for some time of the day that took up the seaweed. For me this beach was beautiful but far too much going on except for the days which were windy as many of the noise distractions got drowned out by the wind which i thought was amazing. There also were plenty of palapas and the resort is well spread out. I actually spent some time over at the priveledged side using the infinity pool (i actually did not know it was a separate area) which was at the end of the day where i got a great view of the sunset. I spent a bit of time at the lazy river the grounds are beautiful . i went there mainly later in the day to catch the last of the sun. The place is huge so if your a walker like me you can take a hike all around the resort as well as the beach goes forever as well. Now for the food! it was absolutely amazing!!! Lots to choose from delicious and the buffet was spotless. I travelled alone and for a few meals i ate alone which i don’t mind but mainly dinner at the buffet. I also with new found friends ate at the Italian restaurant as well as the French restaurant at the Now which was next door (included) the food there was great except my friends fish was undercooked and the service was really slow. i did lunch on the beach as they had an amazing barefoot grill which i ate from every day great variety! I brought it to my palapa to eat and i was in heaven. Lastly the room service is great to have and i did use it 2 times but the selection for breakfast is not a lot but i did order once breakfast and once dinner. The entertainment is extraordinary the Staff are professional and work very hard with loads of talent to offer. The shows are top notch and i enjoyed them very much. The silent disco was so much fun! The disco to me was not so great but hey it was still fun! Loved the Ent. Director Hot Chocolate and all the Ent. Staff!!! Can’t remember all the names sorry! The room has a jacuzzi tub on the balcony which is nice but i never used it as the ocean is my hot tub. I found this resort in the morning the hallways were very noisy with doors which are heavy constanty slamming which woke me up and the Staff yelling back and forth which i have found at some hotels in the past that have this type of connecting hallway setup.I went last year to Punta Cana Le Sivory which was to me a better choice for what my needs are in a resort. It is a boutique hotel and way more money which has Less activity less noise less people small house type setup with no hallways. I would say overall Secrets is a beautiful resort with a lot to offer. For me personally i would not go back as i love a more serene environment to conntect with nature and feel less busy as i have an active lifestyle at home with many distractions. Also there is no possibility of changing money into small bills or getting pesos with Canadian money i did this at home at a money exchange place before going. Keep your money safe in the safe as well my met friends got canadian cash stolen while there that he did not put in the safe. Hope this review helps you in your choice. Hola and happy holidays!…

Secrets royal beach review New preferred pool. So nice. only issue is that it is so large as it connects to the lazy river that runs between secrets and the Now and the large lazy river is in the shade most the day so the pool does not get warm. Found it to cold to just sit and be social. New preferred pool Bar. Pool is chilly, pool bar is in the shade saw very little action due to being too cold. My suggesting is to add seats around the bar outside the pool. This bar has the nicest view with no where to sit and enjoy. Seats at the bar work be perfect. New preferred club. Wow what an improvement. Bar is stunning, food is very good. Service is outstanding. Only issue is no seats at the bar. There are a few couches but seating is limited. There should be seats around the bar to enjoy the best view on the property. …

Great Vacation place

The staff here is the friendliest we have ever encountered. Especially Angel and Omar poolside waiters. Also, the waiter Alihondro. Unfortunately, we did come across some very rude visitors who think they own the resort. My husband and I returned from an excursion and couldn’t not find a lounge chair. There was a large group of chairs (10 to 12) where no one was sitting. Two didn’t have towels on them. We placed them together and put our stuff on a went to the pool. When we came back, a group of 4 had taken our things off the loungers. Later we discovered our room keys money were missing. These 4 people claims all of these loungers and were super rude. Resorts are going to have to take a stand on this.
