We came here for a family meal after a lovely walk around ullswater to be completely let down from the minute we walked through the door. A rather large lady who looked like she had just woke up and had a strong smell of body odour rudely greeted at the door after waiting 20 minutes just to be seated even though the place was basically empty at there was staff everywhere laughing whilst playing on their phones in large groups. My daughter has severe allergies and when enquiring about what would be suitable she just said “i don’t know” and walked off muttering swear words under her breath. i asked one of the young girls to speak to a manager who said ok and then returned 5 minutes later who apologised and said that the manager is upstairs asleep and doesn’t want to come down even though she was on shift that day according to the young staff. After all this, we eventually just got up and left without food or drinks as they never arrived after 30 minutes even though we asked multiple times to check where our drinks were. on the way out there was a middle aged man in a waistcoat who also looked like he had just woken up looking my youngest daughter up and down with a face of lust. DO NOT step foot in the crown inn! Go over the road to the pooley bridge inn it was great service and even better food!

We had lunch at the Crown Inn at the start of a weekend to celebrate a friend's 50th. Good atmosphere and nice food which was reasonably priced. Excellent service from Emma who couldn't have been more helpful!

An amazing fabulous place to stay. We enjoyed a free room upgrade which was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were second to none in their service. The WiFi is very strong , the hotel is located within a short walk of the pier for the Ullswater Steamers. Thank you!

We have just visited this absolutely amazing place, The Crown Inn at Pooley Bridge. I honestly can’t speak highly enough about this place. From start to finish the staff, and I mean every single one of them, made us feel ever so welcome at the place, to name a few of them who always went above and beyond were Julie (Manageress), Ross and Siobahan and Stephen. We brought our dog with us on this trip, and he was literally treated like royalty. As we’re all of the other dogs which we’re staying here too. When they say dog friendly, they definitely mean it at this fine place. We had two rooms booked and both were fantastic, and of amazing quality. Room 17 has to be the best of the best in our opinion though. Waking up to a view right down the lake surrounded by beautiful mountains and various wildlife, was just incredible. Moving onto the restaurant, wow wow wow! This place seriously has it all, an amazing selection of meals to suit all, and even a specials menu just to change things up a notch too. The chefs, and yes there’s a few, certainly know how to cook and indeed prepare a truly mouth watering dish, which will keep you eating at this restaurant, rather than going elsewhere. I have taken my time to do this outstanding place a really good review, as they honestly, whole heartedly deserve it. I will hopefully be back in 2022 for a second stay at the brilliant Crown Inn, Well Done all of you.
