Right from my late arrival to the end of my stay, the staff have been most helpful and friendly. My room was cleaned every day and fresh towels. Plenty of hot water. Food excellent and good variety. It is situated on an elevated site overlooking Kyrenia/Girne. There is a free shuttle return service into town three times a day. The campus is well laid out, and climbing the steps is great exercise after substantial de,icious breakfast and dinner. I did not buy WiFi for my room, because that helped me to not be always on my iPad. There are ample strong free signals in the lobby, the dining room and the pool area. I made much use of the heated indoor pool and sauna, and even had a dip in one of the two outdoor pools. Free towels are supplied. Evenings are quiet but this gives plenty of time to mingle with the international guests and chat with the very friendly and welcoming staff.

Stayed here as part of a group. Some were given refurbished rooms, our room had an awful damp and musty smell, needed a good airing, as if it had not been used for a long time. Had wooden stairs up to the bedroom which were dangerous, having big gaps in between...not suitable for older guests. The furniture is old and dated, including the television. The meals were very poor, only 3 choices for dinner. Luckily there was plenty of bread!!.The manager was not interested in any of our complaints. If you are staying as part of a group...ask for a refurbished room. Would not stay here again.

This hotel was the base for a tour of Northern Cyprus and for that purpose it was fine, but there were so many minor points wrong with it, it could be so much better: Our bathroom smelled awful, an aroma that did not seem to shift all day; The shower scarcely worked with insufficient power to drown the resident cats; In many cases the electrical switches were exposed with no attempt to cover them; We had to pay to get a key to operate the safe; The WiFi, only available in public areas, regularly failed. The staff were a mixed bag with those in the restaurant generally helpful and friendly, sadly the night manager was far from that with a manner that was anything but friendly. In summary, scarcely adequate.

I spent only one night during a very tied business trip, I reached by evening and had to check out very early, before breakfast time, and staff were very nice as they prepared 2 sandwiches for me to take during my journey to airport. Hotel is very clean, very nice and polite staff, fast check-in and check-out. Hotel is higher place with good see view, but a little bit far from city centre and transportation. Also hotel was full of wine and for me it is not recommended for families.

The Positives: Good location for Kyrenia (Girne). Mostly helpful, attentive staff with a couple of exceptions. Two of the receptionists and waiters were excellent. We were moved when we requested. The views were decent (not spectacular) and the balcony was private. Nice relaxation area around the swimming pools. Main meal was decent and plentiful but not up to the standard of the Bellapais restaurants. Cleaning maid was very efficient and thorough. Fridge in the room. Beds were comfortable. Sufficient toiletries in the bathroom. Free air conditioning. Hotel routinely sprays anti-insecticide so no bugs or mosquitoes. The Cons: Tired rooms and some of the knobs on the furniture were falling off. Looks like a job lot from MFI thirty years ago. We had to get the functional handyman to repair loose or detached door knobs and he only did what he had to. Ancient old school TV. Where's the flat screen TV? They are in some rooms but not ours. We had to ask to be moved to 2012 from 2003 because as we don't smoke and like some privacy we weren't prepared to be accosted by smoke from the public tables at the front entrance and the room was too public. This first floor room afforded more privacy. Approx 2-miles from Bellapais village so the name and location is a misnomer. They charge for nearly everything e.g. safe, wi-fi etc. Only thing that's free is the shuttle bus to and from Kyrenia & air con. We've never had to pay for a safe before in any hotel we've been in. And after two tea bags or sachets of coffee they charge you for extra tea bags & coffee. Never experienced that anywhere else. Meanies. They don't like customers bringing in their own wine and snacks. Two fingers to that guys. Were not living in a prison or a concentration camp. I can understand non-tolerance of hot food in bedrooms but really are you so desperate that you want customers to pay over the odds for your snacks? Carpets in the rooms. Really - in a hot country? Needs tiles. Shower was slippery when wet and there was mildew on the grouting. We were told we should have asked for a non slip mat in the shower. Were not clairvoyants so wouldn't have known this. The flush in the toilet worked sometimes but not at others presumably due to heavy customer use of the water system. Avoid the buffet breakfast - its under par. The a la carte is better but nothing exceptional. A previous reviewer described it as a Cypriot version of the Royal Marigold Hotel and we think that's a reasonable analogy. We were expecting much better than this tired old hotel. The air conditioning worked but was an old, noisy unit that again needs an upgrade In summary the hotel is not bad but that's not good enough as it describes itself as a luxury boutique hotel for adults. We think three stars is a fair mark. This hotel needs serious updating. The photos on their site are not representative of most parts of the hotel. Its run by the Oscar Group and Mr Oscar appears to have his business fingers in every N Cypriot pie including car hire and energy as well as a number of hotels. Nothing wrong with his ambitions so long as he ensures customers get a five star experience instead of a two or three star one. Next time we're in Northern Cyprus we'll rent a villa. I work in a customer service environment so feel well qualified to give a fair and proportionate review. In short we were disappointed and would not return until this hotel moves its game on.

I have no idea why this Hotel is listed as 3 Stars as it was most definitely a 4 Star Service. It is in a wonderful location just outside of Kyrenia Town the Hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to the harbour 3 times a day. Breakfast is a la carts not the typical buffet and the menu is extensive and varied and cooked to perfection. The dinner menu again is varied and reasonably priced and the portions huge , we have to compliment the chef and in particular the Restaurant Manager Youseff who greets you like an old friend nothing is too much trouble for him and the waiters who never seem to stop smiling. We had a room overlooking the roof terrace with views of the sea and mountains and really enjoyed spending time on our balcony. The rooms here are on 2 levels with your bed up a flight of stairs they are a good size and cleaned daily, I would have given 5 stars but the rooms are tired looking and the shower small but this would not stop me staying again. The reception front terrace is a lovely location for enjoying a drink and watching the world go by. Special mention has to go to Joyce who organises anything you need , including day trips and all done with a smile and a lovely chat. There are few places we would return to but we genuinely cannot wait to return.

This is a fantastic hotel, it was lovely to see Joyce, Joseph and Shariff again. This year we had on of the mini villas, which gave us so much more space than the hotel. We spent several hours Sitting outside the room enjoying the sunshine. Lovely food, great service, I really cannot fault this hotel.

We had a lovely, relaxing time here. The hotel has lots of steps due to it’s position but if you do research before you book, you will be aware of this. It was spotlessly clean, the food was delicious with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. Special mention should be made of Joyce. She was so nice and went out of her way to be helpful to us. I hope the management realise what an asset she is to the hotel and pay her accordingly! I would love to return here as quite a few guests seem to do.
