Breakfast should be improved. Same menu everyday, in the 7 days that we stayed - there were two days that egg and bread were not available - should be breakfast staples. No fresh fruits.
overall, will still go back to this hotel due to cleanliness and location. Staff are also kind and helpful.
Room is clean. Staffs are friendly. Check out time is 10.00 am!!
What disappointed me was that, for a Japanese hotel, this was a dirty hotel. Examples: 1) when I first got into my room (room 702), there was an empty juice bottle on the floor left by the previous guest, and trash under the bed; 2) they change the beddings and towels daily, but never clean/vacuum the floor; 3)when I enter the room in the evenings after a day out (when the aircon is still off), the room smells like a sewer, and you have to liberally spray with room air freshener; 4) they never wash/replace used coffee cups in the room; 5) my sister’s bathroom (room 701) had a stained and dirty shower curtain (although they changed it immediately when she complained); 6) when the bathroom mirror fogged up after a shower, you could clearly see the gross dirt and grime which had accumulated (see pics); 7) there was spit or snot on the lobby couch which was not wiped in 2 days.
Staff: reception female staff were ok, though no one spoke English. The male breakfast staff were surly, and not once in our 4-day stay did they smile or even greet you “Good morning” (in English or Japanese).
Location: very near Kuromon Market (3 minutes' walk) and a subway stop, but be warned: the hotel address is not known by cab drivers. When we took a cab from the OCAT Namba bus station to the hotel on our arrival date, we were dropped off at a distant Dotonbori exit, about 2km from hotel. We had to walk (with large suitcases) to the hotel; no one we asked help from along the way knew the hotel or its location. It took almost an hour to search for the hotel. (Tip: Hotel is near a Grand Fresa Hotel and nearest mall is Doton Plaza; those may be a better markers.)
The hotel rate we got from Agoda was very good. But certainly, there are far better and CLEANER hotels in Osaka, even on a budget. I will not stay here again unless there are absolutely no other hotels available.
I would certainly recommend this hotel - excellent value for money. Only thing is that check-out is at 10am, which I think is way too early.
The lobby is spacious, and will be welcomed by very accommodating receptionists. the lobby has their own money changer, so don't worry about being short in cash.
the room: as, i guess, rather common in Japan, the room is quite small for 2 single beds. if that's an average, then it's fine.beside the bed is an AC outlet, and 2 slots of USB ports.it also has a controlled lighting system that suits your brightness preference. the room has a mini ref, a kettle, complementary coffee and tea and is refreshed daily even if your didn't want to make up your room. it has a flat screen tv, but all of the about 16 channels, all are in nihonggo. and only one news channel that supports english. the japanse takes pride on cleanliness hence, there is a standard sets slippers.
the washroom: a first-timer in japan would be surprised how small the washrooms are. until later realize that, that is the average space. what i was more surprised of was despite the compact washroom, it was elegantly designed, complete with toiletries and more. it has the standard automatic washing system. water pressure is excellent. and nothing is broken.
the food: they serve buffet breakfast, the only thing that i noticed during our 5 days stay, the menu never changed even once. it's the same old salad, egg, nuggets, soup, and bread.
service: service is above average in welina, they obviously have researched what customers' preferences are. they are warm and informative. even if they cannot understand english that much, they will try their best to help you with your needs.
would i go back? sure!
All I and my collage started to experience severe itching and it was not long after that bites marks began to surface. Only then did we identify that it those were the result of BED BUGS bites!! We are absolutely certain of this having gone to see the doctor as a result. The number of bites were so severe that each of us had an average of 20 bites – 30 bites, whilst I had more than 30! A photo of the bites on my behind and my hand is attached for your attention. This has not only caused us thorough inconvenience but pain and suffering for over 6 days and up till this date.
I do check the review at agoda review,I found other guest face same problem in same room @ last month 25 Dec 2019
