Travellers: 2 Adults 3 Kids (11,9,7 yo) Pros: Spacious room, comfy-big beds, separate vanity-shower-toilet, lots of hooks, wardrobe, lots of USB charger, new bath towels everyday, Sleepers, complete toiletries (hair band-brush, men saver-cream, Shiseido sampoo-Cond-soap, etc) free 4 bottles of water everyday, Polite-friendly staffs, coins laundry inc detergent, free drinks in the lobby & massage chairs. Hotel very close to Namba station, few steps to Dotombori, kids arcades, foods, restaurants, shops, 7Eleven/Lawson, tummy’s always full & happy!! Cons: coins laundry (dryer) not strong, need to put more coins & wait more hours. Do laundry before 9pm, less people use as it’s only 2 washers & 2 dryers. Happy to stay here again.
This hotel is very clean and comfortable, and it is located very close (within walking distance) to Dotonbori bridge where the Glico sign is, and also a few train stations. The perfect hotel to stay in Osaka, and good for families too. But what I’d like to compliment this hotel on, is for their amazing hospitality. I was traveling with my toddler son who caught viral tonsillitis in Kyoto, and got worse by the time we arrived in Osaka. I asked the hotel reception for recommendation on nearby clinic. Without hesitation, the hotel staff found as many information as they can on nearby hospitals that was open that Saturday, and they offered to take us to the hospital using the hotel car. Their owner drove us to the hospital himself, and we were accompanied by one of their Japanese…
Ok it's not about luxury but excellent standard of the hotel. Responsive staff even before check-in. Hotel staff responded quickly and efficiently as I asked for information on hotel access and service. Location: very well located in Osaka liveliest area. Close to Namba station. Room: spacious room & large bed. I was worried in the beginning as I brought 4 luggages & 3 bags. All sat nicely in the room : ) Refreshment area: the hotel didn't provide breakfast but they have sitting area with free flow drinks until midnight.
Location is superb - with plenty of nearby restaurants, shopping centers and the MRT stations. All at walking distance. Very convenient even with young kids. The hotel neighbourhood is vibrant, good for shopping - yet quiet and peaceful for rest and sleep. The hospitality is also very good. It is clean, comfortable and beyond our expectation in terms of safety, comfort, convenience... will return to stay there again. Highly recommended for first timers at Osaka.
In choosing between Kita and Minami areas (latter is south near Dotonbori), Minami wins hands down. Being close to Dotonbori meant we cold walk everywhere for dinner and local sigh seeing. One can take the subway to visit Umeda area. Hotel 88 Shinsaibashi is a bright modern hotel with reasonable sized rooms (by Japanese standards with a fridge and pot for boiling water. While there was no breakfast, there is an area with tables and chairs with free soup, coffee and tea, as well as a microwave if one chooses to heat up a meal. Kazuhisa Horie at the front desk was very helpful, changing our room to include a view window, providing a USB cable that my wife had misplaced (not the hotel's fault) and arranging a complimentary transfer to the OCAT bus terminal for us without us…
Very comfortable stay, room had lots of details designed with the traveler in mind. Our family of 4 stayed in family room A. Room had a doorway for wearing shoes, and a closet near the doorway for coats. Bathroom is big with luxurious tub and a dry dressing area. Ample hooks in the room for hanging our clothes so that sofa area is free of clothes. Ample space for our bags and luggages. Even had ample charging stations with USB port for our phones. Our kids enjoyed the drinks station below. It’s a good idea for hotel not to provide food to save cost and pass the savings to travelers, as we could get food easily from convenient store or Dotonburi or Namba walk nearby. Love the decoration of the hotel. We had such memorable stay here.
have you ever seen the hotel's boss WORKING AND HELPING at the hotel? well this boss does. He even helps to bring your luggage to the nearest JR without climbing stairs. FREE drinks and pool table at the lobby, many language speaking staff! Rooms are excellently great and big, lots of space for luggage. Non-Carpet floor which is much better than other carpeted hotels and the beds are hella comfortable. The toilets have 3 sections, and has a bathtub! One bad thing about this hotel though, they don't have ice or hot chocolate at the lobby. otherwise, excellent hotel and fully recommended.
Stayed here with wife for a total of 5 days for Osaka Marathon and sight seeing. Love the warmth and friendly staff especially the owner that is always in action to get things in order. Room is very spacious by Japan standard, clean and well insulated from outside noise (near an elevated highway). Location is strategic near subway and bus terminal and most importantly walking distance to Domtobori. We struggled initially to get to the hotel from Kansai airport boarded the Nankai line airport express. Could not locate exit 25 or B4 as per the instructions given by the hotel, not knowing we were at Namba Station (should have looked for Namba walk with exit 25 or B4). We took the Airport limo bus on our way back via OCAT. This is certainly a better options. In summary,…
I thought all the rooms in a budget hotels in Japan are small, not enough space for you to put your luggage without stepping over it. But not Hotel 88, it is so spacious that our 2 large luggage’s were properly put in the side and still had a lot of room/space to put our shopping bags yes BAGS from 4 days of shopping and roaming around Osaka. I would definitely stay again in this hotel.. not to mention it is in the middle of Detonbori district.
Wonderful hotel the best location. You’re right in the fringes of Dotombori with only 3mins walk to right in the middle of the best of Osaka foodies. Only 2 years old since Reno and still kept as new. Rooms in Japan are pretty small but Hotel88 rooms were good size for 3 adults in one room. Toilet, bathroom and basin were all separate so no 1 person is hogging the bathroom. Very clean and fresh. All you can drink hot and cold beverages including soups In the lobby. Free pool table and 24hr self serve laundry. Very well decorated lobby, lounging around area and rooms. And only 8mins walk from JR Namba train station. I recommend this hotel even if you have to commute further. Loved the staff even with limited communications staff were well trained and friendly for advice.…
