On arrival we were greeted by the most efficient yet warm staff. Seeing we arrived before check in they stored our luggage for us with a lock and gave us a locker to store our backpacks. It’s the smartest and security proof system I’ve seen so far in Japan. I was happy with my room, it was clean, tidy, organised with all the usual Japanese amenities. The bathrooms configuration wasn’t the best, it was a tight squeeze and I’m under 5 foot. It also lost points with its up keep and cleanliness when comparing it to other Hotel bathrooms. I’m a fussy person but I was able to overlook that when I looked at all the other positives. The room overall was good, I had a clean bed and a substantial complimentary breakfast to look forward to every morning in their bright, sunny dining area. It was a real highlight for me, sitting along the big windows with my coffee and croissant and people watch while I charged my electricals using the many charging outlets they have installed. It’s such a great space. Breakfast options are either Continental or Asian style, such as croissants, sliced bread, waffles, all types of condiments, cereals with jugs of milk, yogurt with fruit, 2 types of smoothies which changed everyday, flavours like kiwi, blueberry, tomato, grapefruit…they were yummy. Two coffee machines, teas, juices, water. As for the hot foods, they had 2 types of soups, I went for the meat broth it was lovely, scrambled eggs, mini sausages, chicken with veggies, meat with veggies, spaghetti, rice and salads like corn, potato, broccoli coleslaw. The ladies who work this area are attentive, hard working and continuously cleaning and changing food. I was impressed and grateful. As for the location, you are smack in the middle of everything, all in walking distance with many train stations if you wanted to go further. You have Dotonbori, not even 5 minutes away, shopping arcades everywhere, so many eateries. The best part, if you’ve had enough of the crowds you can escape back to the comfort’s of the hotel, where you don’t hear a peep. Another thing I liked and have seen in other Japanese hotels is their sustainable practices. They include recycling bins, refillable toiletry containers, water bottle refill stations and encourage guests to reuse towels and linen. On the back of the door there are magnets that you stick on door for ‘do not disturb’ or ‘change the sheets’. If you stick on do not disturb they will leave a bag on the door handle with fresh towels and some amenities. As we were there for 5 days, we were taught to bag our used towels, rubbish etc and leave outside door, so it would be collected when replaced with new bag. It was easy and efficient. I really loved this place and would totally recommend.

I stayed 10 days at this hotel with my teen son. The hotel is at walking distance from Dotonbori and the Shinsaibashi-suji Street. The staff was very friendly, breakfast was good. I am a vegetarian and was still able to have a good breakfast. The rooms were a bit small for two guests, but I would stay at the hotel again.

I have to say, I was extremely surprised and impressed with this hotel. Keep in mind it is a business hotel, so it is not spacious. But for the value you cannot beat it. It is very clean, safe, quiet, the staff are very friendly and helpful(most speak English). I travelled here this past September to sightsee(I didn't want to pour alot of money into hotel cost), Osaka is a great starting point for most Kansai area. The room is perfectly comfortable for a western traveller. Just keep in mind it is a business hotel, this is not a spacious room. But I was perfectly comfortable here at 5'11. Now the access might be alittle tricky. But if you do what I did, its easy. Travel from KIX airport "OCAT Limousine Bus" to Namba OCAT station(880 yen) 45min in no traffic. From there get a taxi to take you to the hotel (600 yen) about 10 min. It is very easy and very safe. And to get around Osaka is easy the Midousuji-subway line is the best starting point from here, I think. It is a short walk from the hotel, get a map at the airport. I would definitely go back to this hotel. Oh, I know alittle Japanese so it helps.

This hotel is dirty with scraped wall paper in the rooms. There was a moldy smell in one of the rooms we stayed in, and my child had a headache overnight. They replaced our room on the second day, but it took up half a day to change.

It is also a money-sucking place. I booked one room for two adults and two children. However, we were forced to book a second room for my 14-year-old child because children above 12 were considered adults. We were asked to pay 14,400 YUAN for a two-hour delayed checkout. If you want to recycle one luggage bag, you have to pay 3,000 yuan.

There are a lot of better hotels in that area. I highly recommend booking a different hotel.

As you know, hotel rates in Japan can be quite shocking. I chose this hotel primarily for its location. It's just a 5 minute walk to Shinsaibashi station & the surrounding amazing shopping arcade. Also, the complimentary breakfast alone is worth a lot of money considering a cup of coffee can be expensive in Japan. The breakfast consisted of miso soup, creamed corn soup, coffee, tea, orange juice, assorted breads, chocolate rice krispies, corn flakes, milk, yogurt, 3 different types of riceballs, green salad w/dressing and fruit. A good value indeed when you factor in the cost for such a breakfast. The double room is small! The twin room (which costs more) is larger and more like a smaller version of the type of room westerners are accustomed to. The bathrooms are tiny. The shower is small, but efficient. The TOTO toilet is fantastic. Excluding the tub/shower, the space is about 9 square feet including the toilet. When you stand up from the toilet the wall is less than 6" away. The double room (which we had) has room for just a double bed and the small desk. Again, small but efficient. There is a hot water pot, hairdryer, complimentary coffee/tea packets in the room. Yukata's (robes) are provided daily. The rooms are immaculately clean. The staff is so polite and nice. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants. Dotonbori is a short 5 minute walk away. I agree with the other person's comment about the hotel sign not being very visible. Our taxi driver had a difficult time finding the hotel. It helps if you're familiar with Comfort's logo. It's on a small standee on the sidewalk. That was how I spotted the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here 2 nights during my visit to Osaka. It is part of the Comfort Inn group but it really is more like the typical business hotel in Japan than the typical Comfort Inn in the U.S. The room is clean but small; again, like the typical Japanese business hotel. These types of hotels are used by traveling businessmen (salarymen) who just need a place to sleep but don't want to pay too much. The bed and a small desk take up most of the room. There is just a bit of space for you to move around. The bathroom is cramped but efficient. I'm 6 feet tall and I did fine. Since I was out sightseeing the whole day and only needed a bed to sleep, it's not a big deal. The location is convenient but I had a bit of difficulty finding the place because the hotel sign is not very obvious. Like many Japanese hotels, the lower floors consist of business establishments such as restaurants, convenience stores, shops, etc. The check-in is actually on an upper level which you reach by elevator. Service is not super nice like you'll find at the luxury Japanese hotels but rather efficient and helpful typical for the business hotels. A big plus is the free breakfast consisting of various items including Japanese sandwiches and rice balls. A good way to fuel up before heading out on your tours. I lived in Japan for 4 years so I didn't have any problems getting around and figuring out how to use the JR and subways. I would recommend getting a guide book and doing some research on the internet if you're new to Japan.

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. We chose it becacuse it was the cheapest hotel in Osaka listed in Expedia ($78 a day!)

It turned out to be a great deal. the hotel is very clean. The staff was courteous, and accomodating. When we were assigned a smoking room, we asked to change to a non-smoking room, and they quickly moved us. Room size is much more spacious that I had been afraid of (we'd never been to Japan before, but we'd heard stories). The bathroom, while tight, was confortable.

The hotel is in an excellent location, with a subway station just 5 minutes walking. also nearby are the Crysta nagahori underground shopping mall, a covered shopping arcade, and all the other shops and restaurants of Shinsaibashi.

Getting to the hotel was easy. From KIX take the train to the NAMBA station (Y800 for regular, Y1320 for express). From NAMBA you can take the Midosuji subway tothe shinsaibashi station or you can take a cab. Cab should run you around Y660, but we had a cabbie who got "lost" and ended up paying Y1300 on the meter. to help you (and your cabbie) find the hotel get a copy of the "Osaka City Map" or the "Osaka Info Guide" at the airport. Both have a map marking the location of the Confort hotel.

I have stayed in the Choice hotels in Narita city near the Tokyo Airport, as well as this hotel locale. The hotels are similar & a great value here in Japan. I really like both of these properties. The Osaka Hotel is a japanese hotel with mostly Japan customers, so i was the only westererner there. Noone as far as i can tell, speaks much english around this area, but I speak a "little" japanese, so i was ok, if you are not so open minded and easy going..you might not like it here at this hotel.you are kinda on your own! of course, if you want someone to speak english to, you can spend >US$60-$200 more to find a "western"hotel that will accomodate your preferences. I prefer to save my money for other things...

the rooms are typical "local" Japan rooms for the Japan tourist. they are extremely clean and in GREAT condition. As you might know, space in this country is at a premium, so, the rooms are VERY small by western standards, (maybe 10x11 ft room includeds the bathroom too!)> I am an average sized person, so this room was VERY comfortable for me. If you are a "typical" large waisted westerner, you might not be able to "move-about" in the room and will NOT like it here. Everything is compact in Japan, and this hotel is no different. the bathroom is typical tiny by hotel standards but well appointed. Dispenser Shampoo, disposable shaver, and comb were provided, as well as a "hot pot" for tea,& instant coffee. Towels are new and very clean. The rooms are fairly quiet, and i assumed mostly everyone is asleep by 10pm. There were no late night parties here! I did NOT hear any tv's or other people talking while resting in my room for three days. Every night, I had a very nice, restful sleep. Remember, in japan, for the most part, they like their beds "firm" and this bed provided me with a great sleep as i like firm beds. If you are particular and don't like firm beds, keep this in mind. There is a small TV in the room, as well as wireless complimentary access. Temp is controlled by thermostat perfectly. No smoking floors are plentiful.

In the morn, There is a bare bones "continental breakfast" that is catered to the Japan Tourist. Cereal, Yogart, boiled egg, and some breads/fruit was about it. Nothing special, but it is sufficient for in the morning. I found the their best offering is a expresso/cappy machine that is complimentary in the morning and afternoons till 2400.. Fire up on a few of those java's and you will be ready for all day sightseeing! I wisely filled up on a few cappies and thus, did not have to pay the $6-$7each that they are charging for cups of coffees/expressos at starbucks down the street from here. A great value!

This particluar hotel is a small 5 min walk from the shinsaibashi station, and very convienent to get around from here. I took the train from Kansai Airport for $10US. One transfer to get here, and took about 40 min. Once here in this area, There are TONS of shopping areas both down and across the street from the hotel, i mean the streets are PACKED at night, with a younger crowd of people. TONS of shopping, LOTS of restaurants and grocery stores to buy food at up and down the street. I picked up some fresh Sushi and Sashimi at the local grocery market down the street. Everything is reasonable priced this way. I paid some $6USD and i had more food that i could eat that night.

Overall this hotel is a GREAT stay for the budget. Japan can be quite expensive, but not here, $55 room rate?anywhere In Japan? you can just about forget it..... Here, Internet included, breakfast inc, coffee inc.

if you can handle the extremely clean, but small rooms and bathroom you will be just fine here!

hope you find this review helpful!

I have to agree with the previous comments. This hotel is a terrific value. The staff is super nice and the location is convenient. While the rooms are not large, they are immaculate and the little amenities and Japanese touches are very nice. The 3rd floor is the reception, breakfast area and vending room where there are soft drink and beer machines as well as two coin operated washers and dryers (inexpensive). If you desire high speed internet access, the front desk will give you a little pouch with a modem, cables, etc. that plug into the phone jack in the room. I believe it's similar to DSL and it is very fast and reliable. There's a flat panel TV in the room with cable (incl CNN). All this for 6048 yen for a single and it can't be beat.
