We know that hotel rooms in Japan can be very small, and Hearton’s room is no different, it was not a problem for us. The problem for us was the air circulation within the room. We came in January where the temperature was around 7 to 9 degrees celcius. Upon check in we were told that there were only hot air coming from the aircon, so if it gets too hot we should switch it off. On our first night the room gets too hot and stuffy, so we decided to switch off the aircon, but then it without air circulation it was very stuffy, and the windows were locked. So we had to go down to the reception to ask them to open the window for us. Not a very good solution in my opinion.
Nevertheless we enjoyed our trip to Osaka, but will definitely NOT stay at Hearton Hotel if we travel there again.

The room is clean, staff are very nice.
A little bit inconveniences is the door key is needed to keep at reception everytime when u go out, it may need to wait for a while to get the key when coming back, but all in all the hotel is nice.
Will stay here again next time.
The hotel generously makes its washing facilities available to guests of other hotels and for a modest 300¥ you can wash your clothes for 30 minutes and for a further 100¥ you can dry them for 15 minutes - they need to be in the dryer for 30 minutes but still cheap at 200¥.
Washing detergent is dispensed automatically (part of the 300¥ value) but it's not quite enough to get clothes really clean. If you're fussy, maybe sneak in a bit of your own from the nearby convenience stores. Also the dryer gets a bit hot so unless you've lost weight (unlikely with all the noodle and tempura joints in Osaka) and want some smaller clothes, think about what you put in for drying. Check care labels!!
As with everything Japanese, there are instructions - dial 88 on the nearby phone. A hosekeeping lady soon arrives with more instructions on using the washing and drying machines - which are obvious!
You then sit and wait in the cleanest basement imaginable. Kitchen staff on their breaks turn up for a smoke and drink and as they've been slogging it out most of the day, I gave them the whole bench to sit on. Don't make conversation - they're really not interested and won't understand unless you speak to them in Japanese.
Best of all the laundry is open 24 hours for those with jet lag and a pile of washing!
