I enjoyed great food here. The Tilapia is world class. Staff are very attentive and prices are very reasonable. Located in Musoma it has good accommodation and I last stayed there four years ago. There is pleasant outdoor seating under a canopy of trees.

Friendly smiling staff. Good food and whole tilapia is amazing. Service in the restaurant is good or take the outside option under cover which is nice when a breeze is blowing. Big room with air conditioning and a fan. Bathroom has hot water and Highly recommended.

The restaurant at Afrilux hotel over charges a lot. We ordered chicken pizza and chicken masala and waited for our food for an hour. When it finally arrived we got beef pizza and a weird pink tasteless masala, both dishes were very small. The whole thing cost us more than what we payed for two nights in a double room at the green orange tree hotel in Musoma. Overall not a good experience and a complete waste of money.

Having just spent 4 nights in a traditional guest house with no running water or fans, it was lovely to have the luxury of air conditioning, western bathroom, and well functioning mosquito net. The friendly staff served us tea and coffee in the delightful garden bar, and breakfast was fine. Would stay here again happily.

Remember it is Musoma, not Dar es Salaam, Paris, London or New York. And this is a great Musoma hotel. The rooms are large, with big and comfortable beds (with effective mosquito nets), air conditioning, and en suite bathrooms with well-functioning and (mostly) hot water. Very nice service and decent food that doesn't take too long to come (although expect something of a wait). The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is sometimes wifi, but very very slow and not always there, do don't have too-high expectations. We were holding a workshop at the hotel, and the facilities and services were good. The hotel made every effort to accommodate our needs, and to respond to additional requests and changes in plan. I would use the hotel again for a workshop, and would also choose to stay there if in Musoma.…

I spend a couple of nights in Afrilux while on a work trip in October 2017. The rooms are spacious, the bed is comfortable and the shower is good. Staff is super friendly and the food is OK. Only the Wi-Fi did not work very well for me. All in all, very decent place to stay in Musoma!

Spent three days while exploring the surrounding area. Room comfortable and staff helpful and always ready to accommodate your needs. Great food served outside, I gorged on fish :). Unfortunately, mosquitoes made their way to my room and the mosquito net over the bed did not stop them, so make sure you have your mosquito repellant at hand. WIFI in the rooms is veeery weak but in the hall, it works fine.

Don't get me wrong this is not palatial. However there are other options in Musoma (Acacia, Peninsula etc) but Afrilux is central. It's VERY clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good but takes a long time to come (up to an hour) so order early. Room 203 is worth the extra £4 a night! They've upgraded everything since I stayed there last - I have no complaints. One comment - the wifi is weak but take a local router with you (£10 for 30 gig) and that works fine

I stayed here with a group and we found this hotel to be good by Tanzanian standards. It was not what I am used to, hence the average rating for my comparison. The room was comfortable with a lovely bed, but the shower was weak and the WiFi connection was very poor and caused me some problems as I was working in Musoma and needed Internet access. The food was ok and we ate in the garden dining area. The homemade pizza was excellent. Some members of staff were smiley and friendly while others were very serious and abrupt. I didn't sleep well due to a cockerell waking me up at dawn every morning and the tanoy of the local mosque calling muslims to prayer, which was very irritating. All in all it was quite a pleasant stay, but there were negatives.
