Courtyard Taipei is well maintained, very well designed, morden and finishing are high end. Hotel rooms are spacious (I would consider large in compare to other hotels of the same class), comfortable bed, newest Nespresso coffee machine, love the sofa seating area, large bathroom with bath tub and a separate shower stall. Floor to ceiling window gave us breath taking view of the area. Large desk that can be used for business and still have space for my wife shopping bags.
Hotel staffs are very well trained, efficient, polite with a smile on their face and greet each hotel guest every single time when they see you. This excellent service started from check-in staffs to concierge, restaurants servers and even house keepers. Courtyard Taipei, you have done a good job.
Food quality in restaurant is above average and was priced right. Definitely this is the hotel I will return on my next trip to Taipei and I strongly recommend Courtyard Taipei to every leisure and business traveller.
The hotel connected with a mall.
Lots of food options but no Halal food available.
Check in was fast.
I was there a bit early around 1:30 but can't check in as the room was not ready (I am a Titanium member). Was offered to wait at the Lounge while waiting for the key to be ready (I check in at the lobby counter).
The room was very spacious. Was given a room facing the mountain side.
The bathroom was very big. Everything worked well. However, no bidet.
No pool, sauna or such facilities available except for a gym.
The staff at the Lounge was very good and speak good English. However, i didn't eat there as its not Halal and very limited vegetarian food.
The location was slightly out of the city centre (Taipei 101) but the Nangang MRT station blue line connects you to all the major attraction in a short time.
A few things:
1) Because I was leaving early the next day, I asked them to print out the bill the day before at 2PM, but then never received it, and had to go down to the front desk at 11PM in the evening to collect the print-out. It took over 45 minutes to settle the bill, it was almost midnight when I returned to my room. The speed at which they work is really atrocious. They supposedly also have free laundry each day for 400NTD for business travelers, but then they wanted to charge me when I was checking out
When I asked to speak to the manager, the front desk manager (Leo was his name) refused to give me the contact number for the manager, I asked if they had an email, he also refused to provide it. This is a first time in all of the Marriott hotels that I have stayed in where they will not even provide a name card for the manager.
2) There is also almost no public place to sit and chat with colleagues. on a few nights, after having dinner at the restaurant, we came back to the lobby and wanted to continue to chat while sitting in the lobby, but then someone would come over and tell you that you have to order a drink in order to sit there. As someone who is already staying in the hotel, and given there is no other place to sit and chat, we felt it was a bit over the top to ask us to have to order drinks just to sit there. Then where are you expecting us to sit ?
3) they do not clean your room on time. Sometimes they clean in the mornings, but on many days, even after returning at around 4 or 5PM, the room is still uncleaned and I have to call the front desk to get it cleaned
4) People do not knock before they enter. there were a few times when someone comes to the room to return your laundry and they do not wait after knocking. They essentially ring the bell and before you even have time to go open the door, someone has already opened the door and is in your room. essentially do not think you have any privacy
5) No upgrade for Ambassador member upon check-in. I was paying a higher rate. But only got a normal room upon check-in and I stayed here for over 4 weeks. No upgrade to a bigger room or to a suite, they told me that I had to pay extra for a suite. Do not expect an upgrade at this hotel
Overall I am extremely disappointed at this hotel. This hotel is only interested in making money and not interested in customer service whatsoever. I will not stay at this hotel on my future visits to Taipei
Also, attached to the Hotel is the City Mall. shops and plenty of eatery and convenient stores are all accessible downstairs, therefore, you don't need to step outside the Hotel / Mall complex to get almost everything you need to make your comfortable stay.
The room is good size, the mattress, pillow, and linens are top notch. The shower is large, well lit, and comfortable. TV is large screen, with many international and local stations. Definitely 5 star quality throughout. The view out the window is an unobstructed view of the mountains around the area.
As a Platinum Member, Courtyard offers access to the Club Lounge. The Lounge is large, well designed, floor to ceiling windows offering lots of natural lights. The lounge quality is much better than many of the Marriott's higher category hotels.
The breakfast at the Lounge is very enjoyable, absolutely top notch environment and quality. I have stayed at this Courtyard a few times in 2019, it is definitely one of my top Taipei Marriott Hotel choices.
I had a early birthday celebration here on 28th February. We have 3 young girls - twins of 5 years and 1x 6 years old. I travelled >250 nights yearly between IHG & Bonvoy groups for past 5 years with my family. This 12 months have been different and I am now based in Taiwan
For this stay, we wish to give special mention to 2 of your talented service persons Ms. BECKY LIN at the lounge & a trainee, Mr. Andy at the restaurant
We went for a trek to the 金面山. We under estimated the difficulties and were delayed without proper lunch. We checked in later than expected at 6pm and the girls were hungry especially Vivienne.
Day1 - during our check in, despite the busy traffic, Ms. Becky was patient and friendly. She calmly assisted and attended to guests.. Some were obviously upset.
She took effort to come by and mingle with my 3 girls. Vivienne was in the chatty mood and Becky entertained her and responded to her numerous small questions on the cocktail. She was gentle and educated her on the alcoholic content and offered her orange juice instead.
She was not irritable when 3 girls went to her work station to chat with her. They felt like VIPs.... FEELING Like VIPs in a lounge by children is not common
Thank you for being kids friendly
Day 2- during breakfast.
Valerie and Victoria were playing and they spilled a bottle of Yakult.
Andy, the trainee helped us clean the floor with table tissues. The restaurant traffic was extremely high and I am sure he was very overwhelmed. He did not look unwilling and frustrated with us. Instead he assured us that it was OK and he shall clean the place right away.
He did his job with pride and he even mentioned that flooring are of wooden material and mobbing is discouraged when I saw him using his hands to clean up
It is precisely these type of customer service attitude by such nice people that made hotel stays memorable and unique.
These wonderful staff of the Courtyard Marriott Taipei team shall distinguish you from others.
This is my 2nd stay. But, I am sure, if I am welcome to, to come back often in the near future as we consider this place our home away from home
The location of the hotel is also excellent as it sits atop Nangang station - a major transportation hub for the Taipei Metro, Taiwan Railways, the Taiwanese High Speed Rail, as well as a major bus station.
We think this is the best hotel to stay at when visiting Taipei. Thanks so much, Courtyard Taipei!
