Anantara is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The beds are ridiculously comfortable, the rooms are made perfectly and the spa experience is rich in culture. The buffet breakfast is the stuff dreams are made of (foodies will absolutely love it) and the restaurant service is impeccable. The head chef is lovely and so welcoming - he’ll come and say hello now and then. The staff are wonderful to deal with and ensure you’re warmly greeted each time you enter the lobby or pool area. I’ve stayed here twice with my fiancé and we can’t fault the place. A big shout-out to the wonderful Eka Adi who went above and beyond to make sure our stay at Anantara was extra special. He has a way to make you feel you’re right at home, and if you happen to be served by him, count yourself very lucky. He really puts the guests first and will go out of his way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Thank you, Anantara. Our time in Uluwatu was such a dream. We can’t wait to be back for the third time. If you want away from the hustle and bustle and relax in a paradise come here! My wife, 8m old son and I stayed for 5 nights! It is very secluded (takes 15 minutes just to walk uphill to get to the main road), yet this is its charm! Completely different to Kuta and Seminyak vibe. You have the most amazing ocean views, serene infinity pools
Amazing resort hotel perched on a cliff overlooking the azure ocean and volcanic mountains beyond. Dugongs in the ocean, harmless monkeys (occasionally ) by the pool, and wonderful warm and inviting staff. Room is large and perfectly chilled with a great view- sleep like a baby here. Big shout out to Nova - insist on having him drive you when you go to the Uluwatu Temple and catch the Kecak Dance performance. Don’t miss either. Nova went out of his way to make our visit memorable and easy. He took the time to show us the albino monkey and guide us around the temple and grounds before taking us to some of the best seats in the theatre. He made the temple experience memorable for us. Most importantly he made my wife feel safe around the monkeys who have learned how to barter by swiping hats, glasses and cell phones and throwing them back when the receive a food bribe.…
Wawan is honesty the nastiest person I have ever met in my whole life. The website bears no resenblance to reality. I arrived at the hotel around 12.45 and did not expecting to check into my room, but hoped I could have something to eat at the restaurant, giving the hotel money have a massage, which I had booked online in advance, at 4pm giving the hotel money. At the hotel I was informed my room was not ready and the lady who dealt with my check-in said I could in fact have a massage at 2pm so I said fine. I’ll move my massage to 2pm and then by 3:30 / 4 o’clock. My room will be ready and everything will go smoothly. She gave me the information where is breakfast. What is the Wi-Fi code normal check in procedure and then asked me to pay the excess of $170.00 1. Initally by email they tried to overcharge me an additioanl $410.00 USD in total $580USD 2. She asked me to present the original card used to make the booking but as it was over 3 years ago (they have had my money all that time) I no longer had the same card but a new one - This is where the sad sorry storrry really begins 3. They insited I had to have a refund made to the original card then I had to pay in full. I would not get the original mones back to my card for at least 14 working days but I was to pay the full amount again over $1'000.00 plus a hefty security deposit. 4. As the prices had increased by this amount since my original booking when Bali closed its airport in 2020. As statedi n their e mail You will be asked to pay the balance - Highlight done by them no mention of refunding and re paying asking me to give the original card that was used and I said I won’t be able to do that as I have new cards 5. She said - then you need to contact your bank. I said it isn’t a bank card is a credit card and could you please tell me which one? she couldn’t find out which one she was making phone calls without keeping me informed of what was happening 6. So I was kept waiting and the first rule of customer service is inform your client what is happening 7. Then another person came to speak to me and said you need to give us the original credit card I said I cannot give you the original card because I made the booking and paid for it in 2020 3 years ago you’ve increased your prices and asked me to pay an extra $170 which I’m willing to do I’m trying to give you money but I can’t give you that card because my cards have been renewed they expired I have new ones I have new credit cards. She said we will just keep you 2 minutes 8. I have new credit cards. She couldn’t find which card it was and then of course speaking on the phone again, not informing me of what was going on. 9. I’m then told that she needs to speak to somebody else — then another person comes along and I have to repeat everything all over again. 10. I don’t have the card. The card is expired. I have new cards but could you tell me which card was used was the American Express was it MasterCard was it Visa? 11. Nobody could tell me this so after sometime I went back in numerous emails of which I will count the number.(20)? I’ve had with regard to this booking and I ****** found out it was American Express, so I said to the man it’s American Express, 12. Here is my amex card. Can you refund me on this card no we can’t refund you. We have to get the bank to do it and then we’ll see on Monday. It’ll take 14 days to come into your account. Oh so you’re going to take 15 million rupiah out of my account, but you won’t give me the refund until a couple of weeks so I’m just without the money in this case. Plus 2million rupiah deposit 13. Wawan said how do you know it’s American Express I said here on my booking it says AX American Express it doesn’t say Visa it doesn’t say MasterCard then he kept saying it was misleading. He was the acting GM - in charge / duty manager - appaling ! 14. He kept saying but this isn’t the original card I don’t know how many times I have to say it’s not the original card because my cards have been renewed they have a expiration date which is later they’ve been re-issued by the company. You can’t refund it to the original card because That card no longer exists. 15. What would happen if I paid with Amex and I no longer use Amex I changed to Mastercard and your e mail say BALANCE to be paid no mention or refund and recharge. paid with AMEX and I close my account the whole thing was insane what would happen in that case? 16. **********This booking was re-confirmed with the extra $170 in December almost 3 months ago. There was no mention on any of the email that this is needed to be done. This could’ve been pre-organised before I reach the hotel. 17. The man was extremely rude he said don’t use bad words to speak to me I said I find this situation ridiculous and I think it’s stupid and I don’t know why this is not been dealt with before check in and if I had of known all of this would happen and you would upset me I would never have booked this hotel. 18. I’ve just come from an Anantara in Phuket where I was staying in the Avani for five days everything was smooth. Please go and ask them for references about my conduct my client profile how I was as a customer if there were any complaints. If there was any bad behaviour you will find not. You will also find my review on TripAdvisor where I mentioned that Gift was a wonderful lady who checked as in how nice the Bell boys were, the service while how happy I was with the room, you can read it on TripAdvisor Linda Carter reviews of Avani in Mai Khao Phuket, so I’m more than disappointed with the check-in. 19 The man was to me outstandingly, unbelievably, outrageously, discourteous. He said you’re making my cashier stressed. He is the rudest man I have ever had the misfortuen of meeting. 20. I was there for over an hour I was hot I was tired I’ve taken two back to back overnight flights and this is not what I expected and the whole situation was totally totally unnecessary. He said "Do you want me to cancel the reservation I can give you a refund? You can leave now" 21. I’ve been waiting for this holiday for three years, which I thought was going to be a treat, and now it is turned into an absolute nightmare. I said I did not want to have my massage treatment as I was stressed and upset and it was not appropriate. He insisted I go for my massage 22. After my massage was finished Wawanwas in the pa reception. I asked him if I could speak in a private place as it was not appropriate to have this conversation in the spa waiting room where other people are hoping to have a relaxing treatment. 23. We went back to the lobby and he told me that I had requested to leave. I was flabbergasted I said “why did I say to you "where do you expect me to go you want me to take my suitcases and go to the street”?????? when he told me with a very steely eyed stare that I could leave and get a refund. 24. I said this is an absolute fabrication. He said no my friend was there and he agrees. He said the same thing I said well that’s two against one and you work in a hotel, so nobody will believe me and I think there is nothing fruitful coming from this conversation. 25. I would like to speak to the general manager as today is Saturday and I understand he’s now not in until Monday., as I was informed by the massage therapist. 26. I was then left again waiting in the lobby while he spoke to the GM 4/ 5 / 6/ 10 minutes. I don’t know how long, but again I was kept waiting while he of course put forward the case for the defence. 27. I then spoke with Mr Max who asked me if I would go to my room I did not want to check-in as I was unhappy with the way had been treated and the experience left me in tears. I was crying at the reception in the spa room. He insstedtha I go to the room and give him a few minutes to try to sort thisout and he would speak to me again. 28. I was crying when I was checked into my room this was supposed to be a wonderful treat, a fabulous experience, a much anticipated stay at a beautiful and Anantara hotel and it turned into a horrible argument which was totally unnecessary and I strongly dislike the way that he said you are picking holes and everything I do well you said it was 11 million rupiah when it’s actually 15 million 29. I asked again at 7 pm if I could kindly speak to the general manager as he said he would call me back. I had to speak to 3 people in order to get an answer. He will call you back. I’m sitting here now waiting for that telephone call if I’m going to leave tomorrow, I need to arrange alternative accommodation and transport and the whole situation is making me feel extremely unhappy insecure uncomfortable as a woman travelling alone I’ve booked and paid for a double occupancy and through no error of the hotel I can only occupy alone, but I would expect a little more courtesy 30. 7.20 I am told the GM did not say he would call me back. !!!!!!! I and getting fed up of being called a lier. I asked Wawan - “ Did I swear , shout raise my voice? Yes he said - What did I say ? What swear words did I use ? He came to my room and again agreed to give me a full refund of my original payment plus 17 million rupiah I am still waiting for that e mail confirmation he just sits and stares and refuses to say what words I used - brick wall because I did not use such swear words - NONE 31. 21.05 I got confirmation as primised then I had to start looking for a place to stay the next day and arrange a driver to collect me 8 hours of stress 32. They quote USD and IRP and get offended when you ask what exchange rate they are using for a payment of over a thousand dollars! 33. The hotel is in a bad stae of repair and looks tired and run down and nobody can seem to understand a simple request even though they are happy to take you cash. 34. An amazing resort. Best place to stay, relax and enjoy. Staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. Dirga, bellboy is an amazing man, who is always smile, keen to help and has very good positive attitude towards caring tourist. We would prefer this resort and Dirga's service in our next visit & recommended to our friends. Hoque & Rumana.

The hotel was amazing. The service was impecable, people in Bali truly now how to make your experience and unforgettable one. Not single detail was missed. Eka Adi was always available and made sure our experience was unforgettable! He even made sure our motor bike was returned to the company we rented it from and sent us away with a to go breakfast a la carte without us even asking after coordinating an entire trip to Nusa Penida that was amazing! What a trip! Thank you Eka Adi and staff! You were AMAZING!
It was a good memorable stay at the Anantara Uluwatu. It was nice and relaxing ambience. All staff was really friendly and will greet us whenever we passing by. I’m glad that we manage to get the nice balcony view, even though it stated “partial ocean view” for our room type based on the price range. I’m glad we choose this hotel this time. It was an excellent choice indeed.
This hotel is really relaxing with such a beautiful ocean view. The room is spacious with a beautiful pool and ocean view. Wedding venue is absolutely satisfied and beautiful. The staff are all really friendly and helpful too. Would definitely highly recommend this hotel.
