Despite having a confirmed booking on check in I was told the room I booked was ‘full’ for my first night and I was told I could cancel my 5 day booking by the obnoxious, argumentative owner who actually wanted me to cancel because he wanted to rent the room at a higher rate than I’d paid. His staff took me to an appalling room used by staff/migrant workers. I refused to stay and spent 2 hours searching around Kamala but could not find an empty room anywhere due to it being New Year. I had no choice but stay in the disgusting room that you wouldn’t pay 300b to stay in. To make matters worse the owner told me I’d have to pay the full room rate 2550b. A total joke. He would not listen to reason and also told me I had to pay in cash!! I’ve stayed here 20+ times under the previous UK owner/Manager and everything was great. The new owner has zero business sense and was totally unreasonable about the situation. I contacted booking.com who compensated me for the full amount of the first night stay.

We stayed here for just over a week in Jan 2020 and we absolutely loved it, it is a small peaceful hotel with all the rooms facing the pool, this makes it very sociable and you often get chatting to other guests which we really enjoyed. The staff are great, Air is brilliant receptionist and helped us loads during our trip with recommendations for the best massage and even going out of her way to help us track down a lost credit card, thank you so much. The manager was also nice but seemed like he had a lot to deal with and we did find him a little bit angry at times. Rooms are spacious and clean and with small kitchenette which we found really useful. The location is perhaps the only slight let down, it is just off a busy road and even though its close to all the other shops you are just a bit removed from the other tourist stuff by the beach and can be a bit noisy at night. It does feel peaceful once you come off the road though and into the resort. The beach is great for kids (we had a 3yr old with us) and beautiful sunsets. We loved it here and would definitely recommend, thank you

Wanted to love this place but it’s near a super busy street and my in-laws had trouble sleeping every night due to pounding music at the bar nearby. Apparently it even shook their bed it was so loud. But hey it’s Phuket so maybe that is unavoidable for this price. If you don’t mind the noise, this place is pretty nice for what we spent. Perfectly fine rooms, great pool, and decent breakfast by the beach. What set this place apart was the quality of their service. They arranged transport for us at least 8 times while we were there (even brought us to the nearby gym for free) and were always super helpful if we needed anything.

Thank you for taking the time to review us, seems this is a 3rd party review on behalf of your IN-LAWS not a personal experience! we pride ourselves in offering great service and advice with a smile and try to make your stay comfortable and are happy to read your stay was enjoyed. We do know that one night of your in-laws stay there was a noisy party going on across the road but not every night as you have written as nearly all our guests comment on how quite it is once you enter the hotel. thanks again, safe travels Jim

The place is located just off the main road. There are lots of bars full of prostitutes along the main road. Along the beach are nice restaurants and bars. The kitchenette is actually just a microwave. Daily housekeeping but they do not change the towels except every 3 days and the sheets once a week. the tv was out for a couple of day because they had some wind the week before. The AC units do not have a vent adjuster so they just blow straight out.

Hello Colleen and James and thanks for taking the time to write your review. Housekeeping is done daily and towels are changed every second day unless the cleaner finds it on the floor then it will be changed daily, The bed sheets are cleaned every 3rd day without fail so not sure about your comment about changing bed sheets once a week when you only stayed 5 nights which you changed room after the second night so your bed sheet comment is totally unjustified. The AC unit it the first room you stayed in had a problem with the automatic flap as the motor had a problem hence why I moved you into another room. The Tv wasn’t out the picture was a little snowy which the cable company came to fix after the storm we just had. The Kitchenette is not just actually a microwave, The Kitchenette consists of a sink, plates, Coffee cups, Drinking glasses, Cutlery, Microwave, Kettle, and Fridge. Your comment about the main road having lots of bars full of prostitutes, Firstly not all girls working in bars are prostitutes as bars need staff to serve customers food and drinks, I feel your one of the short sighted people who only sees the bad in everything and should maybe stick to places that have your seal of approval before you travel there, But please remember if it wasn’t for your country then there wouldn’t be a sex trade in Asia full stop. I’m guessing I won’t be seeing you guys again so I will wish you good luck on your travels and good luck. Kind Regards Paul

Stayed here for 13 nights, on our first visit to Thailand. What a fantastic choice! The Staff are fantastic, especially Paul the manager, the receptionist Air, who arranged tours and return transfer and also printed our boarding passes. The location was perfect, just a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. Breakfast at "the deck" was a free tuk tuk ride away. Breakfast overlooking the beach was perfectly adequate and a great start to the day. I will return to Phuket in the future and my first option for accommodation will definitely be the Kamala Tropical Garden hotel

From the moment I booked we were well looked after, air and Paul we the ultimate hosts, the location is perfect for restaurants and bars and pool was spotlessly clean. All the rooms are located around the pool and they have a good size flat screen tv with a sofa in front. Air can worked great and fridge was Re stocked every day with products that were very reasonably priced. My friends liked it that misch they stayed an extra 2 weeks. I’ve been going to Kamala for 15 years and just wish I’d found this hotel before as it’s attention to detail and personal service is second to none. Would recommend to everyone from families to independent travellers.

One of the best stays we had away from Phuket town where we live. With the fact of us being no fans of fancy hotels and resorts this place was just perfect for us. Lovely tropical pool and friendly staff. Quite affordable rates and good location.
