If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind luxury experience, then you've come to the right place. We are a true oceanfront luxury resort right in the middle of Kamala and Patong Beaches (5-mins drive away). Both Kamala and Patong Beaches are not within short walking distance. Thavorn Beach Village Resort & Spa has one of Phuket's last remaining unspoiled private beaches (over 600 metres long) and several highly unique features. We have a 4,000 square metre free-form Lagoon Swimming Pool, one of the largest in South East Asia, 14 acres of orchid and tropical gardens, a hillside Cable Car, a world class Spa, unique Romantic Dining experiences, a pier, and Phuket's first privately funded coral conservation centre. This secluded beach and tropical oasis awaits you. Please be noticed that Nakalay Beach's appearance, atmosphere, and accessibility changes significantly during low and high tide. During low tide, prehistoric coral remains become visible making the beach not conducive for swimming. Guests who purchase any product from Thavorn Beach Village Resort & Spa or from any of its affiliated businesses acknowledges this fact before making the purchase. Any complaints or request for refund regarding this issue will not be subsequently entertained.

Thavorn Beach Village Resort & Spa is often celebrated for its friendly and professional service, with staff members who frequently exceed guest expectations. The resort's amenities, including a lagoon-style pool, private beach, and dining options, receive high marks from guests. While some reviewers find the hotel to offer good value, others feel certain services are overpriced. The rooms are considered spacious, though some guests report they could use updating. The resort's tranquil setting with lush gardens is widely appreciated, though its location may require taxi services for some excursions.

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay here for 7 nights in the Beach Bungalows. I researched many hotel before picking this one and I am so happy I did. The most positive points were: Even during Christmas vacation it never felt crowded. The gardens were absolutely beautiful and unique. The staff were friendly and clearly working hard. The private beach was perfect so that no other hotels could use it. You can leave your personal items of value on your beach chair with zero worries! The reef further out if you are a confident swimmer, is truly amazing and filled with fish and gorgeous coral! We snorkelled a lot here! The Pool is fantastique, giant with lagoons and hidden corner and statues all over the place. We did not take a full board rate, and ate sometimes at the hotel and sometimes out. Nit was a great chef! Loved the Thaie cooking class. Thank you Nit! Especially want to say thank you to Camp. Such a sweet, hard worker. They are lucky to have you!!
For the Hotel, what I would improve and I think very important: 1.) Make a purified water station where guests can fill up their own water bottles. It would save on plastic bottle use. 2.) bungalows should definitely have 2 lounge chairs, not just regular chairs 3) Bungalows absolutely need sheer curtains. Passersby can see directly in the room, and the heavy dark curtains are not great during the day to let light in.

We enjoyed our 5 day stay at Thavorn Beach. The staff is very helpful and the grounds are beautiful. Especial thank you to Richard and Nancy for their assistance and taking good care of us. Richard was so attentive that he even remembered our room number. Great service!

Pros: great staff, beautiful gardens and pools, beach front location, free shuttle to Patong beach, good breakfast, very clean

Cons: breakfast area is very crowded in the morning, hotel can be loud from all the kids, if you have hillside room you need to take dolly up/down which can be slow sometimes.

Overall a great stay. The distance from Patong beach was perfect for us as it’s not too far from town, and close enough to make a trip each evening to try the great restaurants.

Even though we got to the hotel at 12.30 and check in wasn't until 3.00 pm, we still had to wait until 5 30 ish to be able to settle into a room. Once we checked in, we were left to wait in the foyer with no information, unless we went to the front desk to ask what was happening. All that we were told each time after asking, was that it won't be long now. From what we saw in the foyer, we weren't the only ones unhappy with the service on that particular day. When we were eventually shown to a beach cottage, the property was in dire need of maintenance work and was not clean. After letting the front desk know the problems, they agreed that the beach cottage was not suitable. We were then shown alternative accommodation and it was another 4 rooms and an hour from the first showing, that we were eventually shown a room on the hillside that was acceptable. The hotel is in general gorgeous though and the staff were extremely nice. One downside is the cost of dining in the hotel, it is very expensive. I do understand that if you stay in a hotel of this calibre, then you should expect to pay more for dining. The main problem I had with this though, was the addition of, I think it was an extra 35% added to the advertised price of food and drink.
The hotel lays on a shuttle into Patong for most of the day, so there is always the option of choosing to dine out. The pool is fabulous and there were always sun loungers available.
I wouldn't put off anyone from not staying at The Thavorn because of my checking in experience, as I expect that it is not the norm. All in all we had a lovely 10 days at the Thavorn Beach resort, maybe 9.

Our stay started poorly by being allocated a hillside room with poor view, refurbishment (sanding the floor) and balcony work being done in the next door room After a long flight and staying over a week, we were exhausted and disappointed, 2 hours later we managed to change to a room with a better view and away from the room refurbishment.
During our stay part of the lovely free form pool was closed off for cleaning - it was very cloudy and not appealing, heavy construction work continued throughout at the beach front rooms and finally a digger appeared on the beach. Not really the relaxing holiday which we had expected.
We were given a number of stories by managers, fruit and a transfer to our next hotel (which was where our holiday could begin!). We spent most of our time in the room, which was peaceful or took advantage of the free shuttle to Patong, which was also quieter than the resort.
Breakfast offered good variety, but all other meals we tried on site were expensive and poor, much better to eat out!
On our last night a manager telephoned the room, wanting to come to the room to discuss our problems and to ask what they could do. We were packing as we wanted to leave promptly and did not have anything to add to our previous comments to staff and management.

to me

We stayed in this Hotel during New year 2020 .

The rooms are large and have a good view of the sea in case you get a 4thfloor or above .
In case you get a 3rd floor room , then you may have to be happy only by seeing the tree tops from balcony .

Anyhow , THe hotel is no where close to 5 star but may be called a basic 4 star hotel in terms of service .

First , even if you have prepaid the booking amount in advance, still the hotel will keep a deposit of 3000 Baht as compulsory .

The reception is too slow and don't explain things clearly .they don't even greet you with a smile ...And most of the time they will give you a feel that they are doing you a favour .
Room's Menu and service guys are hardly trained and will always bill you wrongly , so be sure to check the bill before signing .That goes even when you checkout ..

The time/process required for checkin and checkout is too tedious and takes a long time even if you call them early before checkout to get all bills ready these fellows will still take more than 30-40 mins .

The cable cart looks good first day , but its runs in speed no more than a snail and mostly packed with people .

So , to be somewhere on time we had to make sure that we start 30 mins earlier to account for the fact that sometimes via cable cart it will take 30 mins to reach the lobby area .

One more thing , never book a cab to and fro airport from the hotel reception .
Firstly they can hardly be called friendly and will talk to you as if they are doing a favour , secondly they will charge more than double the price than booking via Grab .
We asked how much from Hotel to Airport , the desk said 200Baht but when we checked in Grab it was only 600 Baht .
Grab gives you better cars Btw.

So be aware .

The beach is private but its rocky most of the time whenever there is low tide .

And you will never get a seat in the shade by the beach or swimming pool for free and will be mostly be occupied from morning , The Hotel will charge 500 Baht for a good seat with some coconut drink .
The shuttle to Patong is in such odd timings that most of the time you will be taking a Tuk Tuk back to the hotel .
Finally be aware that this hotel is in the middle of nowhere , so you will spend a lot on transportation .

Dear Roy S. Thank you for spending your New Year with us. We do value our guest’s feedbacks and we appreciate you sharing your time writing us a detailed one. Please allow me to give light on your comments. It is a policy of majority of hotels, if not all, to have a security deposit upon check-in regardless if your room is pre-paid or payment upon arrival. I believe this was explained to you during check-in that this will also be released upon check-out not unless you would like to use it to pay for your incidentals expense in the hotel. I apologize if you didn’t have a very satisfactory experience with our reception staff, which is somehow new to us as our staff is mostly praised. Our staff are trained to explain all the information during check-in, and we also have a staff 24hrs to answer any of your concerns should you need assistance anytime. With regards to the billing, I would like to apologize if you were billed wrongly. Due to this time being holiday season, we might rarely, unintentionally, make mistakes and we really appreciate your patience in pointing this out to our staff. As for the check-out, bills are already prepared but not yet finalized until our housekeeping was able to clear your room. We do normally have a swift check-out process and as of our record, we never reached 15 minutes in a single room check-out. Our cable car, we run it on a speed that is in accordance to safety. Nevertheless, we also advice guests to give it some time if they do have appointment or, we have a pickup car or a walkway as alternatives. Our staff is more than happy to assist you in calling for transportation services may it be a guest’s personal contact or through the taxi counter in the lobby. As for the beach chairs, it is in a first come first served basis. The VIP love seat that includes some packages is an option if guests wish to have a private seat for the entire day. Lastly, the hotel is a 10-minute drive to Patong as it is stated on our website thus; we run a schedules complimentary shuttle service to and from Patong as courtesy to our guests. Thank you for valued comment.

We booked for 2 nights here. On arrival we was greeted with a huge welcome. Check in was straight forward and so professional. Our bags were taken to the room and we was escorted personally. We are still here now and staying in a beach front cottage, it’s lovely. As it was our anniversary they even laid out all flowers on the bed. Lovely touch.

All the staff are fantastic, from reception, bars and housekeeping. We decided to extend our stay another 2 nights and dealt with John at reception who couldn’t have been more helpful. Unfortunately they don’t have availability for the same room, but John sorted us out another room, which I’m sure will still be as lovely. They have offered to transport all our luggage from one room to another so we can sit on the beach relaxing. Couldn’t be anymore straight forward. John sorted everything out for us and amazing. A special thank you to him. He also arrange our airport pick up and as it’s an early flight offered us a breakfast bag to take with us so we don’t miss out. Fantastic customer service and attention to detail.

I would recommend anyone to book direct and join the loath programme as you get offers. It also includes the VIP room, which is chilled and has free hot and cold drinks, WiFi and snacks, the popcorn is lovely.

People has mentioned about the beach being rocky, but there is nothing wrong with that. If anything it adds to its remoteness and calmness. It’s good for snorkelling high tide and then at low side due to the rocks there are all little pools with fish etc. Beautiful. The view over Patong beach is lovely, and lovely at night all lit up. This is our third hotel in Phuket and by far the best. They even provide homemade mosquito spray in your room.

Thank you again to John, and all the staff. We will be back.

We loved this place, so much to like
We are a family with 2 boys 18 & 21
As a family we wished we stayed longer
Firstly the good, and there isn’t much bad or average
Service 9/10 we can’t remember everyone’s names but thank you to the check in staff, restaurant staff, pool bar staff, all the staff, Richard the intern good chatting, Sinead at reception, Sa at the pool bar, the maintenance man who fixed our ac within 30 minutes.
The food is great, both breakfast buffet and we would recommend Asian night. Thank you to the chefs & kitchen staff.
We stayed in the beach side villas and we were in heaven. We enjoyed our rooms and would do same again.
The complimentary massage and massage service very good.
Location, we didn’t have any issue with location a short taxi into Patong for about $20 ausd, the hotel shuttle bus is good but not around the times we wanted to use, in fact over 3 days we didn’t use the hotel shuttle once.
Jest ski hire at edge of resort not run by resort but trustworthy at about $1500 bhat for 20 mins
We did the island hopping day tour and it was well worth it, very good
ATM in the hotel foyer if you need cash
We aren’t normally resort type people but we will go back for sure
One thing though, this beach has a reef so you can’t swim much when tide is out, but the tide changes all the time
Thank you

The hotel was set in a beautiful location with a private beach (not very sandy) tropical gardens with a large lagoon swimming pool (with a pool bar). Works were being conducted, but did not spoil our time there. The pier was closed, which made it impossible to snorkel during low tide.

The rooms were outdated but clean and spacious, the bed was very big and a real treat. The air condition was a welcome relief from the heat.

The Old Siam restaurant was closed, which meant that you had the Crocodile Bar or the Marisa Restaurant to choose from, both of which were VERY EXPENSIVE, in particular for wine, drinks etc. It often worked out cheaper to get a taxi (and back) to another town and go to a restaurant there, or even be adventurous and try the street food. Probably lacking was a bar area for a few night time drinks to finish the evening.

We stayed for two weeks and the menu became a little tiring. The Crocodile Bar service was very good, Jan in particular was a star. The service in the Marisa restaurant was extremely slow, particularly at peak times ie 6-8pm, in fact one night we nearly walked out. Its fine to wait for food, but in heat you need to have drinks, and waiting 20 mins before a waiter comes is unacceptable. We tried to time it so that Kitty would be waiting on, as she always gave great service and was always very helpful and attentive, and we took an immediate liking to her friendly manner. In fact on her day off it was Thai New Year and she came to find us in her time off and gave us some flower bracelets which we understood to be a symbol of respect and part of the celebration for the festivities which was such a kind gesture. Most of the staff were very helpful, although the man in charge of the Marisa restaurant at night often came across as rude and aggressive. On the whole the staff tried their best but I think they were short staffed and a little stressed.

One night we had a meal and went to bed and received a call late to our room when we were sleeping to say that we had not signed for the meal, which you pay for before you leave the hotel, but we had in fact done so, obviously we were not happy to be woken about that. In fact this happened twice at which point I spoke to Joy about our frustration about being woken for something that could have been rectified the next morning.

Joy was very helpful in advising us on taxis, places of interest, and general information.

We did complain about the shower not draining properly but nobody ever came to sort it out, and we couldn’t be bothered to ask again.

On departure we handed in our key and a member of staff was sent to the room to confirm that we did not owe anything from the fridge ie drinks etc. We were then asked if we had kept the fresh flowers that were placed on the bed two weeks ago, this seemed a very odd thing to ask, was he going to charge us for dead flowers??? I confirmed that I removed them and placed them on the cupboard and they were removed by the cleaner the next day.

But on the whole the experience was good but would have been better had it not been for the points mentioned above.

...... Grounds you will ever see. The Thavorn is not a new hotel and therefore the Gardens and pool areas have matured over the years to being the most incredible we have ever stayed in. We took a Lagoon access room and sure enough we could step straight into the large lagoon directly from our room, it really was a luxury.
However it must be noted that the rooms have matured along with the grounds, and therefore you will notice some signs of wear and tear of room fittings. We did have a maintenance issue in our room but this was quickly dealt with by the very efficient Duty manager Emma, who arrived with a team of workers who ensure any concerns were addressed.
We enjoyed leisurely days in the pool and were lucky enough to get one of the rooms that was at the far end of the lagoon and really quite private, they did offer us an alternative room but that was facing the main family pool area and the limited sun beds around it. Therefore we considered we were better of in our original room which was o private it felt as if we had the whole pool to ourselves.
We did enjoy drinks at the Pool bar, snacks by the beach and even a private Romantic Dinner set under a Pagoda on the beach. Menus are varied with enough selection to suit most tastes.
We really enjoyed Thavorn, it is suitably located to be away from the madness of downtown patong, but near enough to jump in a Taxi or Tuk Tuk to experience all Patong and surrounding areas have to offer. We would certainly stay here again if in the area, but would only go for a room or cottage at ground level. Sure the website photos look great from the upper floors, but I imagine the hassle of using the cable car every time you leave your room would soon become less attractive after the first day.
Thavorn is in many ways a 5 star hotel, and yet 5* star means different things in different countries, this is very much a family hotel and the only breakfast option is the large buffet area. the food options were varied and of reasonable quality, but I do like to be served at breakfast time as it takes a while for this old body to get going.
Thanks again to Emma and her team for taking care of us and appreciating our concerns, her professional attitude is an asset to Thavorn.

Me and my friend vacation in thavorn for a few days. From our arrival, we were welcomed warmly by Jessica in the lobby. She gave us a sweet smile. When we checked in, we were given a special drink namely hibiscus juice that made the body fresh and the aroma of mint from a cold towel. The check-in process took so long, everything was explained about the information. Then one of the staff named Vera took us to our room. What a beautiful view of the garden and swimming pool from the lobby floor! Great hotel, beautiful hotel going to the park! Paradise Garden here! Thank you for a comfortable, spacious, beautiful place that gives a very sweet impression to remember! I'll be back there!

We stayed upstairs right on the pool front, I can confirm these are quite however the beach front villas I would assume, would be the quietest, especially up the gym end. We met some people who mentioned the one's on the hill had lots of mosquitoes' and weren't as modern, they got transferred to the beach villas, so worth avoiding the one's that require access via the funicular. The place is beautiful, but also remote. So stock up on water etc and bring back to the resort on your outing. I hope you enjoy your stay! We certainly did :)

Hi Stuart, the beach is not great for swimming or snorkelling. The bay is full of now dead coral which is extremely sharp and at low tide it is too shallow to swim over the coral. At high tide you can swim and snorkel but do be very careful of the coral. There are fish to see but it is not a great experience. Also, depending when you go, the incoming tide results in a lot of jelly fish that need to be avoided.

Answer from Jedda F

There are signs that state they close at 7pm however we were in a room that looked over the pool and saw people swimming at night. We thought we would do the same, but if you've had a big day full of adventures, a big dinner or hit the night markets, you'll find the 7pm pool closure doesn't really bother you

Hi, sorry for the delay. It´s an expensive shop. We had a look at silk products but it was quite overpriced. However, the coffee shop has regular prices.
