I have been to many resorts and hotels. And every so often one of them WOWs me. This is one of them. I had the 4 bed 4 bath penthouse suite only accessible by elevator. We even had a private rooftop terrace with an infinity pool, bathroom, outdoor shower, chefs kitchen, and mini fridge. The suite itself was beautiful when you are greeted by double doors and a beautiful view of the beach. The staff here is also super friendly and helpful. The buggy service is a bit slow in my opinion but that isn’t a deal breaker. The primary bedroom was probably one of the largest bedrooms I have stayed in. I would definitely stay here again if I’m visiting Phuket.
Just had an amazing 4 days at Andara as a family of 4. I'd read all the great reviews on here beforehand but it still surpassed all expectations. We stayed in a super spacious, comfy 2 bed terrace with gorgeous views. Buffet breakfast was awesome - loads of choice and variety plus order off the a la carte for eggs/pancakes/waffles etc. And good coffee! It's a 5-10 minute walk down to the beach or town but we used the free shuttle a lot. Large, sunny pool with plenty of loungers that we often had to ourselves! Ate in the restaurant on a couple of nights - yes the food is more expensive than in town but for the quality and surroundings it's definitely worth it. The staff really made it - so professional, friendly, thoughtful and a joy to be around - nothing was ever too much trouble. The kids are already asking when we can come back!…
This luxurious holiday resort is beautifully fitted out with gorgeous gardens and a stunning communal pool area as well as private pools at certain units. The friendly and engaging staff are extremely helpful and obliging. Nothing was too much effort whatever the request. Restaurant, bar service and daily apartment servicing was faultless and reception couldn’t do enough for us. Pick up and delivery from the resort to the beach and the local area is a free service. We were a large family of seven whose needs were always met. I recommend this resort to all.
Just returned from Andara. While the hotel is beautiful ie love the flooring & all the woods, it is not friendly for the elderly & those that have mobility issues ie bad legs etc. Guests have to climb several steps across the lobby to reach the 2nd floor to take the buggy to our room. It's quite dangerous for a 3 generations family trip. We stayed in a 3 bedroom penthouse suite which comes with a swimming pool. To reach the pool, we have to climb up the spiral staircase. Again, it's dangerous for our elderly parent. The breakfast spread is not that extensive. Maybe the hotel is leaning towards the Caucasians & not Asians cos we sure love to eat! The technology is very dated ie the aircon system brought you back to the 90s and the TVs are LCDs. However, the hotel has its potential if it go thru a major improvements/revamp. …
Family holiday to Phuket with wife and 20 month old twins. Overall a very good stay when you get into the rhythm of the resort. Andara is an interesting concept - in essence it is a mountain side hotel centred around a main area which houses a large pool, bar, restaurant and spa. What sets it apart is that surrounding the hotel are multiple private villas that are available to book ranging from 3 bedrooms to 7 bedrooms with access to the hotel facilities but in parallel, have their own staff (private chef and house keeping). Firstly the reservation process and support were exceptional - either by email or by phone. We had multiple questions travelling with young children and everything was answered in detail and very promptly. I would also say the front desk and concierge team (especially Chompu & Emily) were also excellent with nothing being too much trouble - they were even kind enough to order in special milk for our children. Free transfers (including car seats) to and from the airport - Phuket airport is a bit chaotic but no major traumas and the team were there to greet us on exit. We had 2 separate reservations as part of an extended stay. The first reservation we stayed in a 3 bedroom pool suite within the 'hotel' and the second we stayed in a Villa (18) with private pool, private chef and housekeeping. Very decadent! Both were excellent, immaculately clean and while the decor was quite dark and a little dated in style (think 'Balinese' woods), everything was super comfortable, especially the ,mattresses and linens, and both the room and then the villa were exceptionally spacious and well laid out. Surprisingly well equipped gym with free weights and even a squat rack and a good in resort spa. All of the staff were fantastic - amazing Thai hospitality - and the GM (Daniel - Swiss) is a seasoned professional who knows the region and seems to take great pride in delivering an excellent product and service. As the resort is on the mountainside, and is overall quite big (although it doesn't feel large), you mostly get around by golf buggy or in-resort shuttle - but the service is ultra quick and never disruptive. I also want to mention the Kids Club / Playroom - whilst this is a little dated and on the smaller side, it is VERY clean, all of the toys and activities work and most importantly, the staff were great with our kids. It is low season so the resort appeared to be quiet which meant the kids were given a lot of attention (as they are under 4 they also need a parent / nanny physically present). In terms of food, the only restaurant on site was good (especially for Thai food as you'd expect) and service was excellent. Breakfast was buffet centric with some a la carte items (eggs / pancakes etc). During the second part of our stay at the Villa, our chef (Ma - "Bear") was brilliant - catering to any request and especially taking care of the children. We simply told her what we were thinking of eating 24 hours in advance and she then orders the ingredients and cooks (very very well) around your timing. Our housekeeper (Honey Bee) was also brilliant, keeping the villa spotless and was also lovely with the children. Whilst the resort does not have a beach, it does offer a free 24 / 7 shuttle service around the Kamala area - this meant we could get down to Kamala beach (5 mins) and hire some deck chairs / umbrellas with the children for a couple of hours to have some fun. The shuttle would pick us up whenever needed after a quick phone call. Very very good (thank you Boom our driver!). Kamala is a relatively quiet part of Phuket (although Cafe Del Mar is there on Kamala beach and was good fun for two millennial parents on date night away from the kids.....) . Surin, Patong and other areas are easy to get to. Whilst there were a couple of issues with hot water, these were dealt with very efficiently (seamlessly!) by the team - Daniel also kindly followed up with us - and did not affect what was a great stay. Given the set up, I would highly recommend this for families or even groups. Very very good service, exceptionally clean and well maintained and a lovely hard working team. Thank you Andara, Daniel and Team, we will be back.…
Traveled as a family (across 3 generations) and this hotel suited us extremely well. Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment style room that is huge, beautifully decorated and detailed in every way. No complaints about the quarantine time waiting for PCR results! Each bedroom has en suite bathrooms and there is a kitchen area with cutlery, large fridge and usual minibar items. Room service is quick and of a high quality despite a bit of distance and the audio system is actually a great addition. Note property has fewer common areas than the usual hotels (smaller pool, only 1 main restaurant) but what is there is of a very high quality with great service. No direct beach access as it is set in a hill for the views, but free 24hr buggy service takes care of any beach/restaurant/7-11 trips within the kamala area. Note the property is set on a hillside so there are many steps+slopes, but buggies are available if needed. Strongly recommended!…
We have stayed in Andara for 2 weeks in April and the place was lovely! The hotel itself and the villas give the sense of comfort and peace that you only feel at home :) We also loved how green it is! The stuff is very accomodating and helpful. Special thanks to the manager Olga, literally our angel, who did everything possible and impossible to make us feel at home and not worry about anything!
When I saw that this hotel had 700+ 5 star reviews I wondered if it could live up to expectations. I am very hard to please but have to say that the Andara hit the mark on almost every level. Beautiful large suites, nice breakfast, lovely pools and great free car service to take you to local restaurants and beaches. The only negative is that the hotel is not directly on the beach but the positives more than make up for this. The one small criticism is that around my suite pools there were some mosquitos, I did not see the hotel fog around the room during the week stay and so this would be somewhere that could be improved. But this is nit picking, it’s an amazing hotel and I cannot wait to return.
Our family was lucky enough to stay here for 12 nights in early April. We had a three bedroom suite which was tastefully finished with sculptures and comfortable beds, high ceilings with individual AC temperature setting in each room, a terrace overlooking the ocean and an infinity pool on a roof with the same view with loungers and a seating area. The kitchen facilities have a large fridge, a proper coffee maker and the housekeeping is exceptional and unobtrusive, coming in the morning and night for a turn down service- everything quickly was scrubbed and put away, and even the sandy floors from our trips to the beach magically disappeared. We feasted each morning at breakfast with dim sum offerings, a variety of fresh fruits and yogurts/muesli, noodle soup, pancakes and eggs, as well as freshly baked pastries and breads for children ( our children are their weight in donuts). I think what really sets and our apart is the service level. Staff are genuinely friendly, helpful, and every need (from being taken to the atm to the grocery store to the local market and numerous trips to the beach) we’re swiftly dealt with- even at hotel capacity if you walked down to the lobby and told them where you would like to go they would have someone drive you from their fleet of vehicles within minutes. Similarly if you need picking up you could just call the hotel and they would dispatch someone to pick you up within minutes. The gentleman at the gym took great care of us as well including a Thai boxing class, helping with that machines, and even setting out towels, cold water, racquets and balls fur us to play tennis. If you didn’t feel like walking to your room someone is always on hand to drive you there in one of their golf buggies. We very much enjoyed our trip to the spa with lovely massages as well. The staff at the restaurant, Silk, were similarly helpful and kind and the Thai food is some of the best I’ve ever had ( this is not my first trip to Thailand). Daniel and Christian are very visible taking time to chat to guests and see to our needs and clearly know what they’re doing. We are worried about how we will cope with heading home and having t Thank you to everyone at Andara-We had a relaxing, tranquil and gorgeous stay and we would love to return.…
The best holiday for the whole family of 12. Everything was amazing the villa, the view, the staff and the management Daniel and Christian. Nothing Can beat it. Hope We will be back. The food at Silk is very good, the breakfeast is so good and if you come with children they are welcome and there is a super kids club.
