The resort has a very relaxed, calming feel to it and the selection of pools (and private beach!) were always peaceful. The resort is in good walking distance (10-15 mins) from the seafront where there are many places to eat. Our apartment was lovely and clean and we had an amazing view with the best sunsets over the sea! All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the lovely lady at reception. Out of the four places we stayed in Thailand, this was by far our favourite!
We booked a room and got an appartement. Breakfast with sea-view, 7 min to Kamala Beach, 10 min. to restaurants and shops. Appartement in a beautiful garden-area, two bedrooms, large living room, bathroom und complete kitchen, terrasse to the sea, in front of a small beach area, only get in during flood with watershoes. We enjoyed very much
Beautiful Place, cannot wait to return, Staff led by Karen pays attention to detail. Very helpful with things to do and places to see, where to eat, knowledge of all of Phuket. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
Enjoyable stay in a large well equipped apartment - would definitely stay here again. kitchen had all the necessary equipment. Water pressure in shower a bit low - not a power shower for sure. Apartment had a good view over small private beach
I had a hard time communicating with Kamala Beach Resort for the booking of the place. It would have been 5stars for that and if the establishment had a half decent restaurant. It was all excellent from check-in to check-out. the house (2 rooms, living, and kitchen) had a patio overlooking superb private beach. There is a -tucked in the bushes- pool inside the complex which was fabulous, plus the regular one outside the check-in office. The stay was all we dreamed of and more except for the restaurant that was a shadow of one really. Location of the restaurant was excellent though. You need at least a one week stay to make use of all the amenities provided!
We stayed as a family with our toddler for 5 days in October. Pros - personally i hate a ton of people 'messing' with my day, saying GM, GA, GE, GN. . sometimes on holidays, i just want to be left alone. this was perfect. it was sort of owning your exclusive little space in a prime location. the apartment was well stocked and well furnished. although the ocean view rooms of the Andaman variety were unavailable mostly due to renovation, our garden view room did have decent ocean views and the lightning shows at night were spectacular. In fact the humble garden view room was close to all 3 pools. Being sort of off season or otherwise, had the pools to our self more often than not. There is something about being able to relax in a proper pool without absolutely no one bar the house cats for company. dont get it wrong, it wasn't as if the place was empty, there was decent occupancy and kids and families around. but its isnt one of those 100 room chain hotels where there is a line for everything. . you wake up when u want, swim when u want, sleep when u want. . shop when u want. . like a personal property with no hassles. . yes there are the odd hiccups due to non availability of an army of staff and concierge . . some minor issues take time to resolve and communication is on a day+1 basis. . but for me it did not take away from the charm. would come back whenever i am in phuket. . seven 11 and bigc are walking distance away. . so is the main beach. . bua the restaurant was great. . . the gardens are well maintained, fogging was done on one of the days. the pvt beach dis have a few glass shards, most likely a drunk guest, but it s great place to discover crabs and all forms multi legged crustaceans with kids. . makes for great sunsets too if you want ultra luxe service, cant walk up steps, are bothered by the occasional lizard or ant then you should probably avoid…
We are two couples sharing a three bedroom villa and thoroughly enjoyed our week here. The villas are situated so that each one is relatively private from the others. Our spacious covered deck/lanai overlooked the beach and town which was ideal for us; we quite enjoyed watching the activity in town, feeling like we ate in Thailand. The pool is great: just the right temp, clean, and healthy salt water rather than chlorine. Ample umbrellas keep the sun off. In our villa, each room is en suite with comfy beds, good air con, and some have private balconies. Kitchen was more than adequate for our needs with ample bottled water. It’s the rainy season in Kamala Beach so they are doing maintenance (looks like adding solar)... not disturbing to us but occasional construction sounds. During this time, breakfast is not included so we did not try The Deck, opting to bring fixings from Big C. Speaking of which, this place is ideally located to town, an easy 10 minute walk. I would come back here. …
On our first trip to Phuket, this hotel was a fantastic choice. With a kitchen and living room, we felt right at home! The staff are lovely and very helpful with any big or mundane requests. We would definitely go back!
Totally enjoyed our 10 night stay at this lovely resort. Our unit was comfortable and spacious with fabulous sea views from bedroom and lounge. Very large and comfortable sofa, entire unit was spotlessly clean and bed firm which is how we like it. Terrace was a great size, chairs comfy and a fantastic view over the beach/ocean. Loved watching the locals rock fishing with their nets and seeing tides come and go. We were in unit M1U which was whisper quiet and was the last unit on the southern end of the resort. Pool was magnificent with a kids section, then the graduated deeper section. A plunge pool plus another small pool dotted around the gorgeous grounds. All beautifully clean and always plenty of sun lounges. DVD selection good and we enjoyed our beers (available from Reception) by the pool. Easy 100m stroll to 2 x restaurants, our favourite being Bua. 5 minute walk to town area of Kamala with a myriad of restaurants/shops and friendly locals. Congratulations to the staff, very efficient, friendly and welcoming. Exceeded our expectations, all in all a fabulous visit.…
It was our first time to Kamala Beach and as our last leg on our Thai trip we were looking forward to what was described at the Kamala Beach Estate. Unfortunately we were left very disappointed with the whole experience. Firstly I would like to say that the only reason I didn’t give it a 2 was due to how good the staff were in trying to fix/ assist with the various issues we faced during our stay. We had booked the 3 bed villa thinking the extra room (2 adults & 2 kids ) would be a much welcome relief for our last leg of the trip. Upon arrival staff were very friendly & welcoming, we were shown to our villa & upon initially getting sorted we thought it was ok without being fantastic but ready to settle in & relax but as we started to unpack all the problems became apparent. The self contained kitchen was old, outdated & had a distinct musty smell, the fridge was warm and the whole villa was stinking hot Bathrooms were very dirty & poorly maintained (mould, white residue all over Showerscreens) Fly screen was broken & window wouldn’t shut. I could go on as there were several other issues but this post would be way too long. After speaking with staff & expressing our disappointment we had the option to move to another 2 bed villa which we jumped at. While this was supposedly a more updated and newer villa this too was left wanting more. While better there were still a number of small issues which just left the whole experience more than disappointing. paint peeling of walls and inside cupboards, rust marks through showers, 2nd TV wasn’t connected to any power, had no phone. I’m a nut shell the experience at Kamala Beach estate was not as described. We have stayed in many places throughout Thailand over the last 5yrs so believe we have a reasonable idea on what to expect when a place describes itself as “boutique hotel” It has so much potential, nice gardens, majority of staff we friendly and helpful, pool was great. Disappointing parts Location while some views are OK the main ones are looking over the poor end of the beach and if your lucky enough you will see the rubbish filled, smelly inlet near the Deck restaurant. The rooms we stayed in were poorly maintained and needing some serious TLC. The Deck restaurant which covers your breakfast during peak season was very disappointing. The breakfast options were very limited and quite frankly poor, we choose to eat breakfast in town the last 2 days and forgo the costs that came with the booking. Any room service or pool side service (supplied by the Deck restaurant) comes at surcharge. Unfortunately I can only review on our experience, after seeing other reviews on TA we thought we had chosen wisely but I couldn’t recommend staying as we wouldn’t go back. I would like to say thank you to the desk manager & head of cleaning as they were extremely apologetic and tried to rectify as many problems as they could but seemed hamstrung by management on what they could do.…
