Wow!!! We booked this adventure early in the Covid 19 pandemic, not entirely sure if our trip would be canceled. Luckily, with things starting to normalize again, we were able to go!! Boy are we glad we did! We were greeted by the lovely hostess who answered any questions we had. She then showed us to our Tent "The Cod" where we unpacked and went to explore the beautiful little town. My husband and I were very impressed with the tent. It was so beautiful and comfortable! They thought of everything. Down to every detail. Such a relaxing way to spend an evening Glamping. The tents are very clean and well maintained. The bed is SO comfortable. I could go on and on!! We cannot wait to return again in future! Thank you 'Ome!!!

Book your stay at the Ome Pod immediately, and book early as this is an extremely popular stay in your visit to Central Newfoundland. This modern and very romantic pod is situated in beautiful Burlington, a rural community on the Baie Verte peninsula. The love and details that went into the pod made our weekend complete. The wood stove, camp fire, bbq, and the comfortable bed were top notch. An added bonus, you can bring your furry friends :)

Loved the Puffin tent. It was quiet and beautiful views from the tent. The decor was great, we were warm and cozy even on a windy chilly night. They should update their website as it says you have bring everything...pots, pans, dishes, etc. You don't. Everything is provided. except a cooler if you have cold food. BBQ's are at each tent so you can cook. I would have stayed longer if I knew they provided everything. Would recommend it if you want to clamp!

We debated about staying here mostly because of price ($200/night) and a little because of the distance we would have to travel the next morning for a flight. But we made the leap and decided to do it as the last hurrah of our trip.

Boy, are we ever glad we did. First off, the yurt was bigger than our bedroom, the bed was comfier and cozier than ours and the pillows were perfect. The decor was fresh and tasteful and the whole place was sparkling clean - like we were the first ones to ever stay there. The inside/outside deck was perfect (bugs when the wind died down) and the washroom was clean and close.

The little details, candles AND matches, books (incl. Canadiana), the lanterns and heater, flashlight, coffee maker, water bottle, everything... just great.

We were welcomed and given all of the information about the area and the orientation was very helpful. The only thing we missed but found out later was that dishes were available to use but then we did not know where we could was them (or our own dishes) and never found that out.

We will be back for sure and we will send the friends - it was the absolute perfect ending to our vacation.

My first visit to Ome in Burlington was for a Yoga Retreat. The entire glamming area(all tents) were occupied by participants of the retreat. This made my visit a unique one as we were all familiar with one another. The tents are close to one another so similar to any campsite, you will hear your neighbours. The tents are charming, full of character, have the amenities such as coffee maker, a space heater if necessary, electricity, yet you feel like you are tenting. Beds are very comfortable as well. The staff at check in were lovely.
My group had a lot of gear( coolers, yoga mats, backpacks...) so we requested a little help to get our stuff down the trail to the tents. It is a trail and about a 2 minute walk. This was arranged without hesitation. Remember you are in rural Newfoundland, folks will go out of their way to help without hesitation! That’s just the way it is:)
Composting toilets are close to the tents are were clean with hand sanitizer available. BBQ there as well for all guests. We stayed in COD tent which had 2 double beds.
The weather during my visit was perfect, the most epic star display ever, fire on the beach... amazing really. Oh and the retreat made this weekend at Ome truly great! I strongly recommend this place for a group gathering, or a family/couples get away, so unique.

Fantastic spot to go. We were a couple driving across Newfoundland and came across the glamping locations beside the water. It was perfect, loved every minute. The weather wasn’t the greatest, but it didn’t spoil the tent and our time in Burlington. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area.

We booked 3 nights for ourselves to experience "glamping" and for painting inspiration. Both were successful! Not really knowing what glamping was all about, we read everything on the website and prepared as best we could. What we realized is that we had to bring almost everything we would for camping except a bed and a tent, which is awesome! The bed was soo comfortable....we slept like babies, and the fierce wind shook our tent but it didn't budge.

The people running this show were local and super kind. Anything we needed, they would have found it for us. We came well prepared but we saw other glampers struggling since they didn't read the 'what to bring' list on the website. Didn't matter though, we all pitched in, shared stuff, and ended up making friends with our 'neighbours'.

Our pod was grouped with 3 other tents (with 2 clean outhouses) which is a little more public than we are used to, but it was fun watching people come and go. We learned later that there are other accommodations with more privacy that we will book next time. For showering, you have to head a ways down the road to a public washroom so we opted to skip showering since we were 'camping' anyways :)

The fact that comedian Shaun Majumder set up this social enterprise to help the local economy was a draw for us and we wanted to contribute to that effort. He suggested I visit this area as it is so beautiful and around every corner is a potential painting (very picturesque), and he was right! Burlington, Smith's Harbour, and the secluded Indian Burying Ground were as much as we could cover in 3 days..so much to see and take in. If you can arrange a boat to see the Burying Grounds, it would be worth it. What history and scenery!

Our whole glamping excursion was fun, scenic and interesting. You have to try it at least once in your life. At the end of the day, we felt great that we contributed to this local enterprise helping to keep its town alive while other industries, such as fishing, move to the wayside. We met great people and we will visit again :)

This was my first stay at a 'OME- my parents and I stayed in the Loon tent. The little touches- from the guest book you can fill out to the lamp to the comfortable as heck beds- truly make this place amazing. The best part? The view. The sloshing of the water to wake up to. Highly recommend stopping here for anyone wanting to get some amazing Newfoundland hospitality and views

This is an awesome, unique 'glamping' experience if you're travelling through Newfoundland! I stayed here twice so far. The first time I stayed in the 'Cod' tent and the second time the 'Fox' tent. Both times, it was wonderful, mostly because the weather cooperated! If you like camping but dislike having to lug your gear around and set up a campsite, then this is the place for you. The tents are equipped with electricity and a small propane heater, enough to keep the dampness away. There are tents with king beds or 2 queen beds. The tents were very clean as were the beds and very nicely decorated. The very comfortable beds had crisp, clean white sheets and synthetic 'down' duvets with beautiful quilts. There are a few different locations. The location I stayed at was at the main check-in area. There were about 8 campsites, each with their own tent, most are in close proximity; however, both the Cod and Fox tents were somewhat privately situated. Both of these sets had a wooden deck with 2 Adirondack chairs to sit in while enjoying the water view or the sky full of stars. You can walk down to the water via a small trail but there is not much of a beach area, mostly rocks and seaweed. There is an old dryer drum to house a campfire and a grill to cook upon. There is also a communal BBQ. The tents are nicely appointed with a rug on the floor, nice bedding, books to read, jug of water, glasses, mugs, coffee maker, tea, coffee, sugar, Coffee-mate, as well as 2 Adirondack chairs inside the tent! The only thing missing was a table to place your coolers and food upon. There were a couple of hooks on the frame to hang your bags and clothing. The path to the tenting area is very rough and the journey there looks a little destitute but once you are in the tenting area, it is quite nice and unique. There are 2 'outdoor' bathrooms with flush toilets but no sinks, so bring wipes! About 1 kilometre down the road there is a Comfort Station with 2 showers (one wheelchair accessible) and 2 'proper' bathrooms. My only complaint was the barking dogs and the dogs off leash, especially when you have to go to the outdoor bathroom late at night. Also, the drone flying over was an annoyance and contradicted the peaceful, off the grid intention of this glamping experience. For $120CAD a night, not a bad experience! I think kids would love it :) Also, there are a couple of restaurants within 5km and some short walking trails. There is another glamping location farther down the road where the tents appear to be more private and there is a 'pod' (like a mini cabin) for rent as well. The drive in to the campsite is rather boring and the road is not in the greatest condition so drive very slowly...and watch for moose!! The next time, I will stay in the 'pod'.
