Located in a quiet village close to Gamla Laugin, this immaculately clean guesthouse has easily 3-star hotel -worthy rooms in a quiet, homely setting. The owner is a sweetheart and the breakfast he serves is a delightful introduction into Icelandic treats. There are complete kitchen facilities for guest use. Highly recommended.

We stayed here during a big storm that resulted in terrible driving conditions and many road closures. The host realised that we had planned to eat out but this now wasn’t possible due to the weather so kindly gave us a pizza.

The rooms were all modern and spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and showers great.

The breakfast was great and we were also given an introduction to some Icelandic food at the same time which was fantastic!

We would highly recommend staying here.

We had a very pleasant two nights here, good location for the Golden Circle. Our room had a very comfortable bed and lots of light. The bathroom had a very good shower. The host was friendly and made us welcome. When you arrive there is not a reception as such but a doorbell on the table which you can ring to let them know you're here (we missed this so ended up phoning). The host gave us tips on how to get the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights from the hotel and gave us an introduction to the Icelandic food at breakfast. It is a shoes-off guesthouse so consider bringing slippers! Cooking facilities are provided if you want to be self-catering, if not there are a few restaurants within driving distance).

Upon arriving at the guesthouse, we were greeted and made to feel welcome. It's has a very homely feel, but with plenty of communal space.
Cooking facilities are really good with shared oven, hob, microwave and fridge. There is also use of all the kitchen crockery and free use of the coffee pod machine.
Things were explained well in clear English and didn't feel rush.
Overall a very relaxing experience, would stay again.

The location was excellent for touring the Golden Circle outside of Reykjavik, Iceland. The owner was very gracious ready to answer any questions then showing us to our very clean, spacious, comfortable temperature wise room. The shared bathroom also was very spacious and clean. The surroundings were very quiet giving us a nice, restful sleep. Breakfast was typical European with cheeses, sliced meats, hard boiled egs, cereals, breads, etc. juices and coffee. All excellent.

Room Tip: Include the private bath with your room rather than shared. Just more convenient.

A beautiful house in a countryside location. We were given a warm welcome by the host who made sure our stay was relaxing. Great facilities - big kitchen/breakfast area, modern room with a balcony overlooking the garden, and the best breakfast we had on our whole trip, with everything carefully explained by our host! Also close to the Secret Lagoon, a fantastic local geothermal pool with a great friendly atmosphere. Altogether I can't fault our stay - very highly recommended.

Couldn’t really fault this place. It has a great atmosphere, it’s clean,The Wi-fi works and the showers fabulous
The communal lounge/ kitchen we found to be a great social space although I suppose it would depend on your fellow guests but we had a fun couple of evenings. There’s enough space to tuck yourself away if you don’t want to join the conviviality though and a separate lounge area up stairs.
Haraldur is a good host, informative and helpful but unobtrusive
It would be my first pick if coming back to Iceland.

This guesthouse is amazing. Haraldur the host is super friendly, very helpful, and a fun guy. As guest, you always feel very welcome. The room was very clean. We stayed for 9 nights, as the guesthouse is nicely located to do day trips to see many different attractions. I would definitely come back!

Room #8 is the smallest room we stayed in and not much room for luggage for 2 ppl. It's also next to the front door and ppl walking back and forth until midnight. Breakfast is good and the owner is friendly. I would recommend staying in one of the other rooms for more space and quiet.
