The hotel is lovely and we had a perfect stay the only too problems we had was there was no notice to tell guests about the routine fire alarm tests on mondays the receptionist said there were notices about this everywhere there was notice anyway and the only other issue is a lack of pedestrianizeation because not every tom dick or harry uses a car .

My wife, our granddaughter and myself had a 2 night stay at the Premier Inn Newcastle Metro Centre. The hotel is situated on Derwent Haugh Road.

This hotel is very comfortable, spotless clean and super friendly staff. They are a credit to the company.

Our family room had a double bed and a single bed, was spacious with a WC, wash basin, bath tub and shower over bath. There were also soap dispensers at the basin and at the bath tub. There were plenty of towels for the three of us.

In addition to the above, there were plenty of electric sockets and even USB charging points.

A lovely touch was the "meal deal" which is on offer. You book an evening meal and breakfast next morning saving you a bit of money compared to paying separate. Kids eat breakfast free.

The meals are served in the adjacent Brewers fayre restaurant, who's staff were equally friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman who I think was the manager, a really lovely, helpful lad.

To finish off, If I ever travel to the Metro Centre again, it will be the Premier Inn, Derwent Haugh Road I'll be looking to for accommodation.

The hotel itself was very nice. Couldn’t fault the room with cleanliness and despite the location near the roads, it was very quiet and it’s in an ideal place to explore the Metrocentre and Newcastle but the access to the hotel needs improving as it shares it with the entrance to the garage and on arrival it was blocked by lorries trying to get diesel and we were stuck for 15 minutes. This happened again when we went out so in the end we had to go the wrong way up the one way exit to avoid being stuck again so just beware of this especially when combined with the roadworks and night closures of the A1 which makes going out anywhere a bit of a nightmare. This was the only negative I could give for the hotel though. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Booked this premier inn for three nights with my children to visit a friend. England was experiencing fine weather and high temperatures during the day. The location of the premier in was excellent for the Metrocentre and exploring the room was pretty much as you would expect premier in nice bed clean.
I don’t have an issue with the room being hot during the day as I accept that this was out of control of premier in because the Sun was up and shining, however when the temperature of the room is between 27.5 and 29.5° each evening at 10 pm onwards once the Sun has gone down and the outside temperature was only 17°, two fans in the room made this absolutely unbearable and we could not sleep. Other families in the hotel were suffering the same. This was not due to people being in the room and body heat as we were returning to our room around 10 pm and the room had been vacant with lights off and windows open. The staff at the premier in Metrocentre were really helpful and friendly. They locked our concerns. It was the unhelpful staff Alexandra and Nathan the team leader that refuse to speak to us at the customer relations centre at Luton. To keep telling me that there was no air-conditioning in the room, I did not mention air-conditioning I knew there was none. My issue was the room was between 27 and 29° each evening went outside it was cool and the Sun had gone down and there was no explanation for it. premier in refuse to knowledge that this was an issue and said it did not meet the criteria for the good night guarantee. Having about 10 other reservations booked with premier in in the future I am extremely disappointed with the customer service on the phone and the fact that they would not give me an email address to send screenshots of outside temperatures and room temperatures to to support. I would advise against staying at this premier in if you actually want to get some sleep because there is no way during the summer months if it’s hot in the day that you will be Able to get any sleep at night because the rooms are like absolute saunas we ended up completely exhausted as did many other customers we spoke to staying at the hotel. Disappointing customer relations premier in not what I would normally expect as a valued customer

Usual premier inn style hotel. Affordable, functional, comfortable. Good onsite parking, not on metro centre so you still need to drive or travel to the metro centre, not a problem for us as we had our car with us. All room services good, comfortable bed, shower was okay. No air conditioning (this is clearly stated in booking information) we found temperature in room good without AC. Brewers Fayre restaurant attached but we could not get in on evening arrival as all Pre booked only and due to Covid early closing too. Found food at local nearby Aldi and Asda 😀

the rooms are clean & spacious but they need to have more storage ie:- drawers, the location is excellent for the Metro Centre. easy to find as its straight off the A1 roadways. The staff are very polite & don't mind helping you to as much coffee, sugars & milks you require. would have preferred more towels but no doubt if we had asked they would have been provided to us. We have used this Premier Inn on serveral occassions now & the new decor has made it look nice & fresh.

Stayed here when going to a conference. Location was very convenient to both get to and then get to our conference the next day.
All the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and the rooms were clean, tidy and had everything that you need to be comfortable for the night. I particularly appreciated that they had shut the curtains to keep the heat out, so when we checked in we weren't faced with an inferno of heat in our rooms! Great little touch.
Breakfast was actually one of the nicest I've had in a Premier Inn (and i've never really had a bad one). Everything was fresh and tasty, nothing too much trouble at all. If I find myself back up in Newcastle area, I'd gladly stay in this one again.

Couples trip to visit the Metrocentre and Newcastle Christmas Market.

Location good for the Metrocentre (about a 15 minute brisk walk). Staff will tell you that the only way to get there is by taxi with a freephone in reception (cost us £6). It is manageable by walking (albeit you will have to cross a dual carriageway outside the hotel) however once you are passed the Toyota garage there is a pavement the whole way.
Staff didn't know how to get into Newcastle and again suggested a taxi. A little more local knowledge would have been helpful.
We ended up walking to the Metrocentre bus station (blue zone) and asked a local man (the number 10b will take you to Eldon Square right in the centre for £4.50 return.)

Issue in room was trying to get hot water in the bathroom sink. We then discovered that we had to run the hot tap in the bath first then the hot water would come through to the sink.
Brewer's Fayre next door is handy but limited menu. Breakfast good with a choice of cooked and continental (we had cooked) continental had cereals, croissants, yoghurts, fresh fruit salads. All self service.
We probably wouldn't stay at this Premier Inn again probably choosing Newcastle city centre instead and taking the bus to the Metrocentre for a visit. Main reason for this is limitations on dining in the evening and only the Brewer's Fayre next door for drinks.
