I stayed in pool villa ocean front for 2 nights. It was a wonderful time. When I stepped in the resort, the staff greeted me with a warm welcome. They greeted me with a bottlefly pea water as a welcome drink. After that a bell boy drove me to the room next to the beach. Room and ambience: Beautiful room. The facility is fully well-equipped. There is a small swimming pool in front of the room which has a sea view. The bathroom is spacious. The bathtub is huge. There are trees around the room. The ambience of the hotel is very natural. Service: Every section in the hotel has great service, from the front desk, to bell boy. The staff at the restaurant is also nice. Housekeepers are friendly. They greeted hotel guests all the time. The cleaning is perfect. It makes me feel like I get the brand new room every time. Call center is great (I’m not sure about her name, but I think her name is ‘Lek’.). She helped me all the time. She knew what I wanted. She also greeted me by my name which really impressed me. Food: There was a wide range of breakfast. Everything is delicious, from Thai to Western food. The environment is nice. The food at ‘Takieng’ restaurant is great as I’ve heard. I want to go back again. I really like this place. Overall: Impeccable. Unbeatable.…
The room is as in the pictures, Khun Ploy at Reception upgraded my room to next category as per Marriott’s Gold benefits. First time here at Renaissance Phuket, and hope this shall be last visit due to three main issues we experienced in one stay. 1. Insensitivity of customer’s data privacy: Wireless key was broken when we happened to forget the keycard. It took ten minutes to get someone to finally opened the door for us…"without identity verification". Upon the request, people at the reception were very nice sending a new keycard to the restaurant for us, the staff carried check-in form in order to verify our identity on DOB. We agreed that identity must be verified but this practice should have been done differently since check-in form contains personal information such as National ID Number, DOB, contact information, etc. We chatted via Marriott Bonvoy application, Hotel Manager herself Khun Lilly was very kind to see us herself at the restaurant to reassure that the Renaissance Phuket Hotel followed Marriott’s Guests data privacy (how come no identity verification before letting us into our room earlier that day), we strongly believed that identity verification could have been processed differently without carrying such data into public area (I never witnessed any HR people carry employee folder with them to verify employee’s identity). 2. Unprofessional manner in gossiping about the customer: Khun Lilly left, and we wished she should have waited about a minute or so, instead she gossiped about us inside the restaurant since we met one of restaurant’s guests in the bathroom who happens to share this non professional story with us. We asked Khun Lilly in Marriott Bonvoy’s chat, her answer was “I have to apologize for my behavior but it’s never my intention”. Her supervisor called us the next day and reconfirmed that the hotel had followed Marriott’s Data Privacy Policy. 3. Health & Hygiene & Professionalism of overal operations: Hotel staff were nice, the phrase they kept saying were “please do not hesitate to let me know if you need anything”. We asked the server to separate salad dressing from arugula grilled prawns salad which wasn’t executed accordingly, notified the server...she asked if it is acceptable to re-use those three grilled prawns. We refused on the reused of grilled prawns, but ended up getting cold grilled prawns in the new dish. We asked for fish sauce and dried chili flakes, the server asked if we were ok with chili flakes over Prik-Nam-Pla (chili+garlic+lime+fish sauce), we insisted for fish sauce and dried chili flakes, but we got soy sauce with dried chili flakes instead. We were completely lost! We also ordered an a-la-carte Thai dish, and a plate of steamed rice and fried egg, but the food was served over rice, we asked for the change. Surprisingly, they re-used the rice which we happen to see the stain from the food previously served. At Breakfast area, server handed us the bill right after we sat down, they came back a few minutes later and asked us to sign the bill while our mouths full of food and utensils on both hands. So we asked for their kindness to return after we finish the complimentary breakfast. Egg Benedict would have turned out great if poached eggs were properly drained prior to put on top of grilled bread. Local Thai food such as fish curry and fried chicken were tasty. We were curious about how the tea was made and served since water was only half of regular size mug with one tea bag, and it took us 15 mins to get a mug of tea and a small spoon for tea was put right at the used utensils which were full of stains from savory dishes we had earlier. We asked the server to replace dining utensils for us, the way they were placed was as in the picture. The gardener set a water sprinkle next to beach bed while I was in the sea, cellphone was wet, reported via Marriott Bonvoy Application. No help received…I solved the problem by myself. I didn’t look at cellphone during breakfast, and got three missed calls in the last 15 mins from the number 081-270-9823. Luckily none of us were waiting for biopsy result on that day. We returned the call, and it was Khun Hana from the spa. We did expressed our feelings to Khun Hana since there was no appropriate reason to make three missed calls within 15 mins for spa promotion. Marriott Gold offers 15% F&B discount to its members, this was not executed at all any restaurants at the Renaissance Hotel Phuket for us. We did asked Khun Ploy during checkout, she was surprised and finally fixed all of the bills for us.…
Wow! Had a wonderful few nights here with my family. This hotel has so much going for it. The design, location, food, and most of all, the staff, made it so memorable. I felt like the staff genuinely went out of their way to be kind. So many smiles. Checked into another Bonvoy property the next day and wasn’t feeling it. Will go back. Thanks Lily at the front desk for all of your help in making arrangements. My kids loved this place. Eating breakfast next to the pond was so pleasant. Having some FOMO after checking out. It’s no coincidence that this hotel has maintained occupancy during COVID.
The stay was perfect! Hotel staff are extremely helpful and attentive. Upon arrival very nice greeting by Khun Wan the Director of Operations. The villa was large and clean. I truly enjoy the pool outdoor. In the evening I went for dinner with friends at Takieng restaurant and I love all the food there especially Tom Yum Goong where you can really feel real local Thai taste. Breakfast was good and delicious. Many thanks to Chef Seng for nice treat and I really enjoy watching those fishes in the big pond while having breakfast. I definitely will return and stay longer for next trip and thank you everyone for making this stay memorable.
We had a wonderful “stay/holiday” at the Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa. The upgraded pool villa was an exceptional room option that was both beautiful and private. The Guest Service & Loyalty Manager Khun Vasco was extremely professional and looked after our every need. The hotel knew it was my birthday week and went as far as putting a “birthday surprise/balloons in the room” before our arrival. I was not expecting the extra touches, but it was much appreciated. The pool villa was beautiful, but their regular rooms are equally as nice. The pool area was well maintained with a nice beach bar/lunch area called The Sandbox. The fish sandwich was excellent! At night, i recommend making a reservation at Takieng (Thai food). The curry and fish options were all on point in a beautiful/romantic setting. You might want to request sitting by the window for the sunset. All of the staff were incredibly kind to us throughout the entire stay making the trip both memorable and special. We had the opportunity to meet Khun Aod - the F&B Director throughout our stay. Khun Aod and Chef Chris were especially helpful and ensured that we were well taken care of and enjoyed our meals. The breakfast selections were plentiful and delicious - well done. The breakfast staff were all super helpful and the service was great. The beach was beautiful. You can take fitness classes in the morning complementary. The gym staff (two gentlemen) were extremely nice and provided access to stand up paddle board on the beach and yoga classes. All factors considered, we were already talking about coming back for a re-visit before we even left. Thank you to the full Renaissance Phuket team for a perfect stay.…
