Well what can we say !! We purchased a 2 bedroom apartment and we couldn't be happier, we stayed at the Chateau and ate in the restaurant, our whole family were immediately welcomed and we were guided around the site, nothing was too much trouble. The only issue we had was the taxi was delayed in picking us up however an alternative solution was quickly found.
Some positives: The château and its surroundings are beautiful. The staff is very professional and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated. Some negatives: The restaurant quality is poor. The fish is frozen and our cake was burnt. The pool area is in a bad shape and needs an urgent uplift. The shower head is really dirty so is the communal area with dead flies and spider net in stair case. We found as well a number of hairs in the room. Finally the mattresses are too old and need to be replaced . Overall a mixed feeling. This place has a lot of potential but issues could be addressed quickly with a new chef, more cleaning ladies and some investment on the pool. They also need to make sure they reward enough their staff at reception and in the restaurant to ensure they stay for the long term as they are really good.…
Our family of four stayed in Chateau la Cazine in July 2019, If you are looking for a relaxing hotel oozing with French country style and sophistication, then look no further. This is a genuine French chateau without a vast modern extension so often found on so-called country house hotels. We booked a prestige lake view room in high season but I can honestly say it was one of the best value hotel rooms I have ever stayed in (and I have stayed in many around the globe). The view was fabulous, the furniture stylish and tasteful with an individual feel, the ceiling was high, the bed was exceptionally comfortable and the towels were fluffy. The bathroom was huge with a powerful rain-shower that was simply a joy to stand underneath. The ambiance in the hotel was excellent too with an imposing marble staircase, chandeliers everywhere and walls peppered with original artworks. We had drinks on the terrace and an excellent meal in the restaurant; traditional French fayre but perfectly cooked and expertly presented. The staff were very helpful too. Nothing was too much trouble and lent us fishing equipment for the lake and tennis equipment for the immaculate tennis courts; both of which are just a short walk away. If this hotel has any shortcoming it was the breakfast choice – I have seen better – but this was really only noticeable in contrast to the high standards everywhere else. I almost wanted to keep this hotel secret and not tell others about this gem but the hotel deserves the excellent reputation it probably already has. We will be back.…
Vegetarians are treated as Vegans and Gluten-free guests. The Chef has no idea what’s the difference between those three...friendly staff, but unable to solve these problems. Tip; In the rest of the word vegetarians eat no meat OR fish!
The staff were very nice they just were not very attentive in offering more drinks ect. I had to ask the receptionist on each occasion if we could order drinks. The bedroom was beautiful it could just just do with a bit of tlc in the bathroom as the shower doors were not clean and the sealant and grout was coming off too. Evening meal was really good however the breakfast was very disappointing, we ordered room service for breakfast and it was all freezing cold including the 'hot buffet' so we went down for it instead but there was not the choice you would expect it was very simple. Overall it is a beautiful and quiet château and hotel with amazing meals just a few things let it down.
