Nestled on a pristine beachfront, Beyond Kata Hotel captivates guests with its vibrant atmosphere and live music, complemented by tasteful decor. While the spacious rooms with stunning views are a highlight for many, some guests have encountered maintenance and cleanliness issues. The pool area is a favorite, although food variety and amenity cleanliness have received criticism. Service quality has seen both commendation for friendliness and critique for occasional disorganization. Travelers are divided on the hotel's value, balancing reasonable pricing against some disappointing experiences.

Our fourth floor room was really nice and large with a reasonably spacious balcony overlooking the pool and beach. It and the very nice included breakfast made for a great, relaxing 4 day. We used the buffet dinner once and it was very good, copious and easy, but there are great and cheaper restaurants across the street. The pool was good, but hot, so found it more refreshing to cool off in the ocean. There was snorkeling in the rocky headlands at each end of the beach, but the fish and coral weren't special. The drinks around the pool weren't good and were expensive. But nothing could beat the wonderful view from the shade of the terrace overlooking the perfect beach!

We booked a premier deluxe room with sea view. When we checked in, there were no welcome drink as the norm. The hotel provides just 1 key per room. For additional key, there is a deposit of 3500 baht. When we requested for another key, the reception asked us to come back later.

We were allocated on the second floor. It would be good if we had the higher floor which offers a better view. Nonetheless our room has a balcony with the view of the sea and the pool.

The room is very big. There is a kettle and an expresso machine. There is a beach bag and beach towels, umbrella, slippers and bathrobes. There is a daybed as well. Toiletries like toothpaste and toothbrush, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner and body lotion were provided.

In the evening we could see fireworks from our room.

For breakfast, there is an egg station, French toast, churros, bacon and sausages, Thai food like fried rice with pineapple, noodle soup and porridge.

The beach is right in front of the hotel. The only issue is that all sunbeds were reserved early in the morning and throughout the day, so we did not have the chance to laze around the pool and the beach.

There are many restaurants and massages and shops just outside the hotel.

We loved this hotel and will stay again when we visit Phuket.

Traveled with a friend and was looking for a hotel with a good location but not in the busy/club area like Patong- this was overall a good location, although I think the Karon beach area is pretty interchangeable with Kata beach area. We also really wanted a place with beach access which this one did. Otherwise this was a very average hotel.

Rooms average size with comfortable beds; liked that they had blackout curtains. Bathrooms average with tub/shower that was fairly clean. Nice balconies and spacious rooms with plenty of hot water in showers. Black out curtains a plus to keep out all the light.

Biggest complaint would be how incredibly pricey food/drinks are; not all inclusive and very comparable to U.S. prices which is a bit absurd for Thailand. A beer at the pool was equivalent to $6 USD when in northern Thailand is was <%1 USD. Luckily there are places not too far to get sandwiches/food since lunch/dinner would also be very pricey. Breakfast buffet was pretty good and included in our room rate.

Air conditioning took eternity to cool down the rooms and was frequently very hot (~80' F) when we got back to the rooms and took several hours to cool down (AC automatically turns off when you leave room). Overall average, nothing special hotel, and would likely stay elsewhere for a more luxury beach vacation.

An adequate, but tired hotel in need of major refurbishment.
It was a mistake booking this hotel.

PROS:
Excellent location next to the beach
Rooms are good size
Front desk and Concierge staff very friendly and helpful.

CONS:
Hotel generally looks tired and needs refurbishment in rooms and across the hotel (see photos)
Pool tiles missing and poorly repaired in some areas (see photos)
Some staff in Atrium Cafe not at all friendly, in fact very moody, not helpful and rude.
Only 1 person at egg station so expect at least a 10 to 15 minute wait most mornings. I gave up!
Coffee machines are very slow and constantly breaking down. Long queues each morning for coffee
No turndown service, especially to replace wet and used towels.
Beach towels only replaced between 17:00 & 18:00 each day at poolside. Towels get quite we in afternoon and cannot be replaced until 17:00.
Quite a number of sun beds broken. Seems acceptable to leave them broken and in use. A few have been repaired with different colour rope which looks terrible.
Swimming pool rules state towels to reserve sun beds not allowed and will be removed. However, no staff removed any towels even when not used for many hours, even all day as many people reserve sun beds around the pool in a morning, go to the beach all day and expect sun beds still vacant late afternoon around pool.

Dear Steve T, Thank you for your comments and we sincerely apologize for the inconveniences during your stay. We have taken the necessary action wherever possible. We actually have 2 staffs at the egg station but sorry that you have waited long. We used to cook beforehand but we decide it is better to have fresh eggs every morning. Pool is cleaned daily. Unfortunately, 1 Coffee machine was out of order ิีbut it being fixed right now. We have noted your other concerns at some areas the needed our attention. The hotel will also be renovated this year, from 25thApril to 25th September, resulting to overall improvements. Yours sincerely, Amnat J/The BRKT Team

The resort is on the beach and Kata beach became my favourite one.
The breakfast is huge and offers a great variety of food (sweet and salty).
My superior room meet all my needs, the bed is super comfortable and the whole room and resort are very clean.
The hotel restaurant has great quality international/thai/pizza/spaghetti and prices are definitely affordable compared to the quality, service and dishes look.
Let me talk about the best part of my holiday, the staff!
First I should be grateful to Kim and Noel to be so nice, smiley, welcoming and ready to fulfill any need or desire!
Fancy having a poolside meal? No problem, just ask them! Thanks for making my holiday something memorable!
And people.. Don't be stingy! If you appreciate their service prize them with a tip, I can guarantee you won't regret! 😉

Staff And amenities were all wonderful, great property and wonderful buffet breakfast. However our only complaints are the beach chairs situation. We selected this resort due to it being a beach front property. However we were unable to get a hold of beach chair and we had to rent the chairs from the locals at 400 baht per day. I think the resort should do more about monitoring the chair situation as many times I did not see people sitting in chairs for hours but the orange towels where holding the chairs hostage. Also the resort should provide courtesy chair's at the beach instead of having the guests forced to pay for them if we wanted to do the one activity which this resort is worth booking for (sitting in front of the beach). Please know we did appreciate the upgrade that the resort gave us to the pool access room. That allowed my elderly mother to have an easy access to the beach and to a chair by the pool that we did not have to fight for. The upgrade made it a little better, Thank you! :)

After a week at Amari Patong, and a week at the sister hotel Beyond Karon we spent a week at the Beyond Kata before moving on to the Katathani. The best thing about the Beyond Kata is its location right on the beach at the pretty end of Kata Bay; the relatively sheltered and gently sloping sand makes it ideal for swimming, and with twenty snack shacks immediately next door lunch options were cheap and plentiful. There are many restaurants, shops, etc centred around the Beyond, and all the usual beach activities are available. Service throughout the hotel was good, although pool bar staff seemed disinterested; our room was clean and modern: the pool area was adequate although the usual problem of reserving frontline sunbeds prevailed.
I dropped my review to 4 stars due to a series of minor issues perhaps cost-saving by hotel management, as I understand that the hotel is running at 30% staffing: our free transfer between sister hotels was an old uncomfortable tuktuk; our "seaview" room had a restricted view and an interconnecting door whereby we were disturbed by noisy neighbours (we moved rooms the next day); our safe had an intermittent fault requiring two visits when the batteries should have been changed on the first occasion; on returning from dinner in the evening with only one receptionist on duty to check in arriving guests, it was a long wait to get our room key. I accept that with Covid it takes time to get back to normal. Overall, the positives far outweigh the minor (temporary?) negatives, and if you want a genuine beachfront location, I recommend the Beyond Kata.

While you cannot beat the location of this hotel, there is nothing else about it to enjoy. The food is terrible. Think low budget cruise ship. The staff is unfriendly and unhelpful. There is connecting room/door in our room, which is locked, however there is a 2 inch gap at the bottom of the door so we can hear everything in the room next door. I would not stay here, even with the beachfront view. Total waste of money and we’d go elsewhere for the next two nights if we could receive the non-refundable refund of $1000.

Our stay at Beyond Resort Kata was AMAZING......it was the first time in Kata for us - we booked online easily and it was great value, even for low season. Our room had a lovely sea view and a spacious balcony. A buffet breakfast came with the booking and we thought it had great variety daily (we've experienced many buffet breakfasts in Thailand over the years).
The pool was lovely and you can see the beach & ocean as you swim. Shops, massage places, bars and restaurants are literally across the road from the front entrance, as well as a couple of restaurants at the end of the beach, just a few minutes walk away.
There's an ATM in the lobby and you can arrange transport easily there too.
The staff are very friendly and we saw the General Manager (Khun Amnat) introduce himself to guests at breakfast. He also took the time to chat with us a number of times.
Of the many places we've stayed in Thailand, we would thoroughly recommend Beyond Resort Kata as part of your trip, especially for it's unbelievable location right on the beach, and value for money.
We will be returning for sure!!!

We stayed at Beyond Resort Kata for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The resort is located on the beach and we didnt see many hotels at Kata Beach that had the same distance to the Beach. The breakfast was good with a lot of options like english breakfast, local thai food, omelettes, pancakes, fresh fruits, youghurt and so on. The cleaning at the Room was also really good. If i have to say something that wasnt good it was really hard getting sunbeds, even though you were up early. Everyone was putting their towels at the sunbeds at night and even though it had a lot of signs about this, nobody at the staff took care of it. Besides this we really enjoyed our stay here. We actully think the hotel is better than the picture shows you and we could definetily recommend this Resort
