We had an amazing stay at Sel Guesthouse. The room was spacious and warm and having a hot tub overlooking the Northern Lights was unforgettable. The host was simply delightful and we had an unforgettable home cooked three course dinner. Can't recommend this accomodation enough.

Beautiful Guesthouse, 1950's furniture and cutlery, so friendly you feel part of the family. And then the food. We've been in Iceland for a week now and Sel Guesthouse, with home grown vegetables and high class restaurant quality cooking was the best food of the trip

This guesthouse was lovely! We arrived late and called ahead to make them aware. They told us which room was ours and left the key in the door for us. The room had great decor with a nice sitting area, tea with an electric kettle and very comfortable beds. The bathroom was attached with a shower in the same room as the bathroom. Breakfast was in the main house in the morning with lots of fresh and homemade offerings. Would definitely stay here and again and recommend to others.

Our trip started with two nights there, the owner and his charming wife took very Good care of us . We felt like home , the room was perfect, the cooking was absolutely delicious in every way, everything home made , probably thé best meal i have ever eaten. We asked if they could make us sandwiches for the next day and even t’en sandwiches were delicious. Staying with them makes you want to stay in iceland forever. The breakfast was also made of home made products, and products of the garden. It was excellent. They made our holiday in iceland just wonderful with all their attentions .

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Sel Guesthouse. We stayed in the small separate cabin on the property with the blue door and we had our own area to park our car right by the cabin. Although the inside felt quite dated that just added to the charm. The cabin was spotless with the most amazing view. Bathroom was an entire wet room with no enclosed shower. Sell guesthouse is set off the main road which gives it a sense of seclusion and privacy. Breakfast spread was varied and plentiful. The annex units looked newer with the same amazing view. Highly recommend this for a base to explore.

This was a lovely country place to stay. The beds were comfy with comforters. The interior was decorated in a country style with displayed cross-stitch and a Crocheted pillow and a cute Viking doll in the window. The breakfast in the morning in the main house was amazing. There was an amazing spread of food to choose from.: The homemade warm breads and cakes were so yummy. I also loved the jam. Lots of fish and deli choices and eggs. This is a small place so book early.

Even though we were along the Golden Ring, Sel Guesthouse felt like authentic Iceland. The setting was quiet and this was the only location that some of our party saw the Northern Lights. The newer annex rooms were charming and very comfortable. The breakfast included fresh fruit, veggies, a few protein options, and homemade breads. The staff was superfriendly and helpful for our group of 17. Sel Guesthouse is on my "return" list of places to stay for my next group trip.

What an absolutely wonderful place! We arrived to a warm welcome and found that we had a room in the new building with private bathroom and a gorgeous view over the surrounding area. The room was cosy and very big, with a comfy sitting area and tea and coffee making facilities. The en-suite was also larger than usual and had a wonderful hot shower, much welcome after a freezing day of trekking. I think that the breakfast was one of the best I have ever been offered, with a huge selection of different delicacies even though there weren't many guests staying. We really enjoyed the communal breakfast room, which was also warm and cosy and invited everyone to share their travelling stories whilst drinking coffee together. We loved this place and our only regret was having to leave after only one night due to our tight schedule - this would make such a great base to explore the Golden Circle.

My husband and I stayed here on our trip around Iceland. This guesthouse was our favorite. The hosts were very warm and friendly. It is set back from the road and very quiet and serene. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had a lot of character. If you can have dinner with them I would highly recommend it. The dinner and breakfast the next day were excellent. Everything was homemade and delicious. I would highly recommend them!
