This is a very good hotel with comfortable & stylish rooms & good staff. I would have given it 5 stars instead of 4 if not for an important inconsistency. Everything about the hotel including the grounds and facilities is great. The place is really quiet and comfortable after tiring outings during the day and its location is excellent and 20 minutes by car away from Jiuzhaigou Valley. The restaurants are also good. The only complaint we have which does affect our stay is the shuttle services within the hotel grounds. As the rooms are located far from restaurants and hotel entrances, we need to call for the shuttle services. There were 2 times it failed to come and we walked from room to restaurant. For the third time, we waited very long and there were other guests who waited longer than us and had also called for shuttle before us. We had to complain before the shuttle came. I think this need to be fixed first for this hotel to deliver a really good experience. Also, none of the staff informed us of a viewing deck in the hotel until we overheard it from some of the guests. It is a small but nice viewing deck.

Stayed 3 nights as part of private tour. All rooms are located in separate buildings around the property, each building has 3 floors and roughly 6 units per floor. To get to lobby or restaurant, or to Hilton’s larger restaurant, call the cart service.

Breakfast is average and most inconvenient is without self service tea, and when served, it’s luke warm and weak from reusing same tea bag multiple times. Cannot fathom why something simple as tea cannot be done right since staffing isn’t proving enough coverage to provide attentive service. Even the hot water dispenser is a jug with some low heat camping fuel at the bottom and completely ineffective. No tea bags to be found anywhere.

WiFi is atrocious, worse in modern times. Both in the living quarters and restaurant.

Rooms are spacious but bathroom shower walls showing signs of mildew and housekeeping should spray down with bleach.

Given the foot traffic in the valley, good to stay in such a facility away from the crowds, and given the pricing perhaps would have less wear and tear on the property for a more acceptable stay.

This is one of the best Conrads we have stayed at worldwide. Amazing location, layout, ambience and rooms, but beyond all that wonderful staff which is what makes a hotel special. Jacky Zhang, Miles Mei and Echo (all of who speak English) were extremely helpful with their wonderful suggestions for visits, restaurants and generally making our stay memorable. Even though no one else in the hotel speaks English at all, but the staff more than make up for it with their friendly attitude and ready smiles at all times. Eleven, the restaurant manager, again the only English speaker there, was equally helpful every morning at breakfast.

This hotel is definitely not luxurious. The heating/air condition is central so expect to freeze or be way too hot the entire time you’re here, there is no in between. Staff service/attitude is horrendous. Holiday inn express or local hostels have better service. The hotel is supposed to be brand new, but it’s already showing wear and tear, rooms are not clean and feels dated. You might as well stay at a holiday inn express and save some $$$. Lobby lounge also reeks of cheap perfume.

Spectacular service over all. Nice setups done by crew. Arrangements by Echo was perfect, the pre-arrival check and through out the entire stay meet my expectations. Aurora’s enthusiasm during check-in and check-out was much more than friendly. The whole team and hotel make me feel home. Definitely will come back again.

Excellent location for the national park, just 15 mins away. Helpful and enthusiastic staff (thanks especially to Jacky and Darcy!).

We arrived end March, just as more facilities (spa, second restaurant) were opening up for April start of busy season. Dinner was served in adjacent Hilton - pretty esoteric menu, some tasty dishes but probably good enough for 2 nights - Conrad's attractive looking second restaurant was only opening April 2. Trade off of for a few inconveniences of non peak season is fewer people to deal with at the national park, especially if you go early and walk on trails beyond the crowds.

Rooms are generous sized, aesthetically pleasing but finish is a little patchy - paintwork / materials - in places but if you're spending most of your time in the national park or the adjacent Tibetan village (walk along the horse trails for amazing views) then this is a great place to rest and recharge.

The local mall / commercial center is pretty deserted (Watson's pharmacy, KFC and Subway all closed) but perhaps they reopen in peak season, if not no big deal if you're staying just a few nights. Perhaps retail will pick up with arrival of the high speed train from Chengdu to near the airport this summer

We stayed 3 nights given flight schedule (not every day to Chengdu). Give yourself two days for the park if you can. Maybe build in an extra in case of bad weather, it's pretty hard to predict.

Local drivers are excellent, arranged by the hotel.

You can also stay at Ritz Carlton nearby, looks very impressive. But if you're out at the park mostly probably not worth the 3x or whatnot.
