Booked at the last minute to extend a short break by the Kent coast for one more night, I was very pleasantly surprised by The Waves, particularly by its close proximity to the sandy beach of Minnis Bay. The place is spotlessly clean, and my room was large, bright and airy. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming. I loved how I could leave my room and be on the beach in about 30 seconds. I will say that if you don't like dogs, this may not be the place for you! It's very clearly dog friendly (although I did only find this out myself by reading reviews prior to my stay), with a number of the family's dogs present inside the café, which is where you will eat breakfast (or at least I did now that indoor dining restrictions are being relaxed). They're all very friendly dogs, one even has its own teddy bear that it occasionally carries around before placing it carefully on the floor to give it a gentle lick...I found that entertaining to watch while I ate my breakfast! But of course not everyone likes dogs, so this is something to be aware of. There's only really a choice of two cooked breakfasts with no option for cereals or fruit, but the food was very nice, especially the toast which was made from 'proper bread', not your standard pre-sliced loaf! I only have a couple of minor niggles. My room was nicely furnished, but had no wardrobe, just a few hooks hanging from a door. This didn't bother me too much as I was only staying one night, but some might find that an inconvenience, especially if staying for longer. Also, the TV in the room couldn't pick up a signal, so was pretty much useless. This may have been something I could have taken up with the owners at the time, but again, as I was only staying one night I didn't bother and just had an early night instead! Overall, I found it a nice place to stay and would stay there again.…
This was our second visit to The Wave B&B and once again we had a very enjoyable stay! In a lovely quiet situation, two minutes walk from the beach with private parking. We were in their disabled room which was very spacious with a large wet room en-suite. We had our two Miniature Schnauzers with us so plenty of room for their beds and lovely walks on the doorstep! There was also a small fridge in the room along with tea & coffee facilities and a small table and chairs. Because of COVID-19 a cooked breakfast was delivered to your room or when the sun was shining we ate on tables set up outside the restaurant. All staff wore masks and were very pleasant and keen to let you know that although things were slightly different due to restrictions they were there to help. Highly recommend this B&B to others and we will certainly be back again!…
The Waves B&B is in a great, quiet location in a private road right opposite the beach at Minnis Bay. The owners made us feel very welcome and our room and en suite was spacious, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Due to the current Covid situation, the breakfast was continental and provided in our room. A thoroughly recommended place to stay with some lovely walks along the coastline.
The Waves is great value for money, large room, friendly owner and accommodating owner who made us and our dog feel very welcome. Great location with superb walks, lovely quiet location and reasonable place to eat and drink on the doorstep. All in all l would thoroughly recommend this place to stay. We had a wonderful time.
Very happy staying here. The people, food and atmosphere was great. The cafe/bar appears to draw people in with dogs, they where everywhere, you have to be careful not to step on them. We are not really dog people but I will say all were very well behaved and it really never bothered us, the whole place is immaculate. We had the small double room upstairs with sky light window, it was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Being on the sea front was convenient for us so we could pop out and have nice walks along the sandy beach. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you to all the staff
